It's that time again! This is your chance to nominate the books you'd like to read in June. We're only having one (non-themed) nominations thread this month, as we've agreed that June's themed book will be the winner of the Orange Prize. The rules are as follows:

Everyone nominates (only) 3 books (at least one of which needs to be a classic and at least one should be recent and have been published in the last 5 years) every book you choose gets one point. So the books that have the most nominations will go to poll.

You have until the 7th to change your vote if you wish, before the poll opens on the 8th.

Happy nominating!

It's that time again;) Who would like to be discussion leader for The Sealed Letter by Emma Donoghue - I'd like to get the ball rolling on this so that the discussion leader can contact the author (Emma Donoghue).

Sophia - would you like to be discussion leader for the Orange Prize winner? You are, after all, so supremely qualified for the job x

I would do The Sealed Letter by Emma Donoghue but I'm too shy to contact the author lol!

We don't have to contact the author, do we? If so, I resign! I'm much too shy to get in touch with Madeline Miller. She probably far too busy doing Orangey prizewinning things anyway.

I think it may just be the Emma Donaghue book Sophia, I am the same I would write lots of things that made no sense and have lots of ands and buts in it haha! x

I don't think you have to contact the author - or you could ask someone else to do that and still lead the discussion?

Can you imagine the geeky fan-girl e-mail I'd have sent to Neil Gaiman when we read American Gods? I'm cringing and laughing at the thought!
