Carole-Ann (blueopal) OK - read them all; some are better than others; some stupendously good, and some a "WTH happened to this?"

I suppose I'm very easily pleased :0) but the ones I remember best are Wren's story Unleash the Night and Zarek's Dance with the Devil - oh, and the first part of Acheron (and I truly didn't mind the second half!)

What I found enchanting at the beginning was the way Kenyon brought in (so easily) elements of Greek mythology - which I have been reading since childhood. Later, she drew her own mythos - but still based on well-documented Greek myth - and her whole world-build is VERY well done (and, yes, I do admit it can be a lot confusing sometimes).

However, I can agree with some people in that some stories are a little hit or miss - whether Kenyon got sidetracked, or was led astray by editors, I don't know. Sometimes the writing is a little slack (even though they are usually easy reads); and sometimes there is "that" moment where you think 'I didn't see that coming'; or 'what the f*** is that!'

Overall, I do enjoy them (yup, read some more than once); and I was pleased that
Retribution and The Guardian(oooh DID enjoy this one!!) were better than some of the previous ones!

I really really love the Greek myth side of them, and these were what really revive my passion for ancient history :D

I love Wren's, Zarek's, Acheron's and Vane's. I really love No Mercy, but wasn't really a fan of Jess' book because I'm not familiar with that religion :/

Not sure if I'm looking forward to the next, but there are def a few characters I'd like to see have their own books

Sharon | 7 comments Night Play is the last one I read. I really enjoy this series so I'm sure I'll be picking it back up soon. Just need to go scrounge around in my local used book store. I also enjoy her league series books.
