RIFers! Read this excerpt of Stephanie Reents's THE KISSING LIST and let us know if you agree with reviewers who are comparing her to Aimee Bender and Lorrie Moore. A good comparison, you think?

I enjoyed the stories in the book. I especially thought the storyline about Laurie was excellent. Though she has cancer, Reents never once allows the reader to feel sorry for her, as we do not see her wallowing in self-pity. She is a strong character. I also like the character of Vita. She is someone who is not wholly self-confident and I can relate to her character because of that, as well as how the author shows her as a post-trend fashionista.
Altogether, the stories in The Kissing List were easy to read and easy to digest. This should be recommended beach reading for anyone who likes short stories and/or chick lit.

Suggestion: this goodreads group could be improved if you would post about read-it-forward books as they are offered for giveaway rather than after the giveaway has expired.

readitforward.com is a great site, and I go there often. But I sometimes miss by a day or two some really good giveaways.
