I just sent you a friend request. You can send requests as well. Really the best thing is to hang around and chat as much as possible and get to know people.
Hello Gingerlily,Thanks for adding me as a friend.
I've been going around the site looking for tips, etc..and am getting that feeling you're right in what you say. I am finding it's quite easy to stay on here for long periods! Maybe there should be a group for GR rehab? :)
Thanks, Andy
Hiya Andrew. I'm glad you're enjoying the group and already finding it addictive. We do ask that our authors have only one author thread, though.
You have complete carte blanche in your thread, of course.
I'll have to delete one of them, I'm afraid, or it wouldn't fair to the others.
Which would you like to keep?
Andrew wrote: "Hello Patti, I'd like to keep this one if that's ok. Sorry for breaking a site rule...I'm new!"
Teehee! It's to the dungeon for you boy :-)
Lol!It's no worry at all Andrew. Easily sorted.
Just be sure to pop your lovely book links in here, okay?
Ahaha! I actually chuckled out loud at Goodreads asking why you have no friends. Thanks for that Andy :o) Thankfully no one was here to hear me except the guy that has some kind of issue with me but I couldn't care less what he thinks cause he ignores me anyway! Oops I digress...Hmmm..... lunchtime
ah ok, which do you think is best? I am an author on GR and when I've posted before I've just added the book from the top line above the comment box. Is it best to actually put a link in do you think? It makes it look a bit obvious to me, and adding the book looks more subtle. Jed sent me two links, one for uk and one for .com. I'm a bit soft when it comes to self-promotion on a site. It's like...I don't want bother people.
Andrew, this is your thread. You can do what you like here. And we love Authors promoting and will even help by sharing on our various Facebook, Twitter etc pages :-)
But only if we like you. I shall ponder this over lunch and maybe tell you the outcome but then again maybe not
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Well I'm kind of committed now, having sent a friend request already..."Same, I just accepted one :-)
ha ha I'm very likeable and every loves my work...no, no, sorry I have to stop...it just doesn't feel natural to me. Everybody does call me the Gentle Giant, though...maybe that should be my user name? I am a Geordie as well...3G's? or 3 ...jees!Here's the link to my book on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Theo-Mallier-...
i've just had to edit my profile for emails as well, after looking at my yahoo account and seeing a full page of GR mails...
Yeah, the default notifications are horrendous, aren't they?We mods have been complaining about that to Goodreads forever. It should be set up to opt in, not out.
Anyway...
If you need any help at all, please just shout out.
And as Jud said, this is your home in the group. Do as you like here.
I suggest some snazzy curtains right away. ;)
Patti had a habit of coming into an author thread and causing havoc, usually involving setting the curtains on fire. She claims it accidental....
It is! Always!I just think candles add a certain ambiance, is all.
GL is the one who brings the chocolate fountains.
And the whips.

I am a new author to the site and part of the advice I was given was to start a Q & A session. I did one called 'favourite book of all time' and when I reviewed it, it said you have no friends, and why? (it actually said that)
I have created an author profile, and am looking for friends to add to help get me started on the site, and if anybody has any further tips on building my group of readers, or improving my profile, or anything really, they would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy Culyer
