Its a bit embarrassing as it is actually mostly a list of books I own in one format or another and have not read yet!!! So my goal this year was to try and read some of those, making good progress so far :)If you would like to read any of them I can certainly lend (a few are keepers) or gift (more will be read and passed on) you a copy (there's maybe 2 or 3 that I have borrowed from friends/library but the rest are mine I think)

I think I have Feed & Deadline on my bookshelf if you need a copy to borrow? These are on my TBR but are towards the end of my growing list.
If they're crossed out I've read them - but thanks. You really should give them a go. Possibly my favourite YA books ever. The series is brilliant and BLackout is a a great finale to everything. I loved them!!

24 entries down to 11. So I've read more than half :) Yay.
Currently reading book one of the Brothers Gwennyd quartet and it is really hard going (combination of writing style and tiny typeset). A bit disappointing as it was a 'cold buy' off book depository and is a subject I should be devouring but it just isnt doing it for me. Anyway there are 4 novels in my volume and I think I will just finish #1 for now and cross this off the list. If I ever feel the need I'll look at the other 3.
Oh, that's interesting. That's a series that's always sounded quite appealing to me, and I've felt a bit bad that I've not got around to them yet. In light of your experience maybe it's no bad thing.
Have you read Sharon Kay Penman's books about the welsh princes? They are fantastic. And the reason I went looking for something similar. This one is...dense. My volume is actually 4 novels in one but it is the size of 1 (not trade size) novel so you can imagine how small the font is. I think that is affecting my enthusiasm quite a bit.
Yep. I'm a big fan of SKP :-) although I have not yet read Devil's Brood or Lionheart. I think I've read pretty much everything else she's written. And UGH, that tiny font just sounds like too much hard work.

Ok currently reading Feast for Crows (book 4 Ice and Fire) and Poisonwood Bible so if I can finish these two then I will only have 9 to go. That's 3 a month. Do-able maybe? Not sure about kitchen boy because I dont have a copy and I might leave Child of the Phoenix till next year as it is a reread. So that makes 7 to go. They are all very big books though....The Passage - kindle copy

6 down for my patient booklovers challenge. This year's reading is not really going to plan. 11 books behind for goal of 100, hardly any group reads done, only 1 review for 1001 books done. Gah!

I seem to over-commit to challenges/reviews and then get frustrated that I can't just read what I want.
Going to be a bit more selfish with my reading for the next few months, even if that means group reads go out the window!
I have become a bit more ruthless. If a book doesnt grab me within the first few pages I'm moving on to the next one. Too many books, too little time to waste with books Im only reading because I somehow feel obliged to!
Not making much progress on my patient book challenge. Am fast coming to the conclusion that I prefer reading on my kindle. Just looking at the sheer size of Wolf Hall or The Hour I first believed is really offputting.Sigh. I love buying and touching and smelling books. I'm not sure how to reconcile the two!

I'd love to read the Welsh Princes trilogy, so maybe we could make this a group series read if others are interested?
Angie wrote: "I'd love to read the Welsh Princes trilogy, so maybe we could make this a group series read if others are interested?"I'd be keen for that. I have just looked at my library (which combines with 4 others - SMART libraries) to see how available the books would be to me. I can get hold of the first two titles but not the third! TYPICAL PUBLIC LIBRARY BUYERS GRRRRR. :)
I am sure I would be able to lay my cotton pickin' fingers on it somehow though.

Ladies, I have just added a suggestion over in the suggestions thread rather than clog up Sweetp's Personal thread - lolLesley
The Welsh princes series is great. I have read twice over already but am feeling like it needs another read. Darkpool is also a SKP fan so might be keen for another read of these too :) I picked up 2nd hand copies on TM.
Both copies of bk 1 are checked out of the Ak library at the moment, but I'm up for a re-read as soon as I can get my hands on it.
Oh yes. keen as. I bought copies on trademe because I loves them so much. This will be reread #3 I think or 4? Also I must read darkpools book she has kindly lent me and I have been so slack. Same author.

haha doesnt feel like it! some of the books I had on my 2012 to read list right at the top of the page!!! Mostly prefer ebooks now and find huge hardcover books just not really enjoyable anymore, hence many of these still sitting languishing.

They are more convenient though, and I find being able to enlarge the print is a real boon now.
I know. Terrible! The last few I have read have been "real" books but yeah, I do prefer the electronic devices, particularly my ipod as it is backlit so I dont need to have the lamp on and disturb hubby if I am reading in bed. I also work as a knitwear designer so I find it is a lot easier to knit while reading on a device where it is tap to turn the page etc. I also use devices for pattern pdfs instead of printing them now too.
Yes I love the smell of books too and my heart always does a little flutter when I walk into a bookstore. I am trying to declutter (as you can see, not going very well) and getting rid of books as I read them - read and remove! Our house is too small for lots of bookcases so I am only keeping my most loved and treasured reads. (well that is the plan)

Although being a library attached to a distance education organisation they are becoming few and far between with the preference being to e-delivery.
