I am looking for this series. I live in the Philippines and I think they are available here in DVD versions.. Or I can always try to download. I heard good things about this series.
Erin, it's great! I hope you can find a copy!I'm a Dean girl, for sure. I love Sam, but... there's just somethin' about Dean! I tend to like the grittier men on TV shows, which is completely the opposite from real life. :P
LOL Jennifer. I can totally relate to the gritty men on TV shows. I like Dean as well. I usually have to DVR it and am a few episodes behind. But I love this show.
The last few episodes have been pretty decent (especially last week's)! Lisa, I hope you enjoy them. :) I guess there are only two or three left this season. I'm interested in seeing what direction they take in season 8, though. I don't hate the Leviathans, but I'd like to see the Winchesters up against Hell again.
I really love this series and Erin, you can watch the entire series online on Netflix (I think they're available globally for online viewing) save the most recent season, or you can purchase the DVD's on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Supernatural-Th...).I'm a Dean girl also. I find educated men to be extremely sexy so you would think I'd be a bigger fan of Sam but you're right, there is just something about Dean as a character that is hard to resist ... and Jensen is pretty cute so that helps too.
I got into the series just last year by catching a few reruns on TNT in the morning. I didn't realize then that the show was still airing new episodes so I figured I'd just watch the entire series from start to finish on Netflix. I HATE skipping episodes in a series, especially if it pulls an ongoing storyline like Supernatural does. Now I've watched every season that is available on Netflix and I know that there is at least one full season that has aired on TV already but is not yet available on Netflix so I'm stuck waiting because I don't want to start watching the new episodes on TV and skip an entire season while I wait for it on Netflix. lol
I have no idea what Leviathans are yet as I've left off where Cas was trying to save heaven from Raph but I think I would have liked to have seen the Apocalypse story drawn out a little bit longer. Anyone have or know where I can download a copy of "Oh Death" by Jen Titus? It used to be on the CW's website but they took it down and I can't get enough of it. I'm wearing a hole in the youtube video.
Off-topic: Some of my favorite male TV stars though (for sheer yummyness factor) are Josh Gates from Destination Truth and Ben Hansen from Fact or Faked. Ben seems a little goofy at first but the more I watch the series the more attractive he becomes to me. Tall and well built but not overly "ripped", and I really like his personality for some reason.

L.M., that's exactly how I started watching the show! I turned on TNT one morning a couple years ago, and I was hooked. The first episode I ever saw was somewhere smackdab in the middle of season 3, but I was glued to the screen.
Also, holy cow, Josh Gates and Ben Hansen; I love them both! Fact or Faked is seriously one of the best shows on television right now. It's so much fun to watch! Although I might (maybe) consider myself a believer in the paranormal, I love debunking stuff. :P
I'm with you there Jennifer. I do believe in the paranormal because I've had so many experiences of my own but, at the same time, I think that 90% of the reports and evidence that's out there is either hoaxed or people getting excited over nothing. Here's a question back on topic for everyone:
Besides Cas (because that's just too easy), who's your favorite Supernatural angel?
One of my favorite things about Supernatural is how the writers find creative ways to mix things up from time to time - like the prophet who wrote a book series that was only marginally successful, and the episode where the boys land themselves in an alternate reality where their lives are a TV show that is only marginally successful. I loved the little digs in that episode too, like when they said the show didn't have very many viewers and when Dean was like "dude, we're not even in America!" lol.

It was so meta it easily could've crashed and burned, but they executed it perfectly because they didn't take it too seriously.
As far as angels go, I have to say Gabriel is my favorite (I have Richard Speight Jr.'s autograph in my room, LOL!). His plots were awesome, and he was funny but still a really intriguing character.

Ooh, which book? :)

Oooh!! Looks awesome. Thank you for the recommendation.
And it has Cleveland in it! (Ohio girl here. :P)
Besides Cas (because that's just too easy), who's your favorite Supernatural angel? I would have to say Crowley... although is he an angel or a 'Fallen Angel' ... the King of Hell, Death is pretty cool too ... especially after watching an episode the other night - S7 ep 1 I think it was.
Samantha wrote: "Besides Cas (because that's just too easy), who's your favorite Supernatural angel? I would have to say Crowley... although is he an angel or a 'Fallen Angel' ... the King of Hell, Death is pret..."
I love Crowley! I fear there will come a day when they'll have to kill Crowley, and I will be a very sad panda. :P

I'm not sure either of them count as angels. Crowley is a demon, not a fallen angel. He was once human and sold his soul, that's why they were able to dig up and (allegedly) burn his bones. Then again, I haven't seen season seven so I could be totally wrong but if they're sticking with facts from the Bible, the Morning Star is the only fallen angel. And then Death isn't an angel either, he's a horseman, but more than that he pre-dates heaven, hell, demons, and angels. According to season 5 ep. 21, he even pre-dates God.

While Crowley hasn't been called a "fallen angel" and he's still technically just a "demon", Sera Gamble did bring up the interesting point in an interview that we've never seen Crowley change his eye color like most demons. So that does make you wonder if maybe they've got something else in store for him.

So that does make you wonder if maybe they've got something else in store for him. In all honesty I've had my doubts about him ever since he came back after Cas burned his bones. I mean, he flamed out like that was that and, to my knowledge, demons in meat suits don't have the ability to make their human bodies just flame out at will to put on a good show. This leads me to think that either - the bones were his which means he is a demon but, for whatever reason they missed something ... or perhaps he wasn't human when he sold his soul and became a demon so the rules apply differently to him. It would be interesting right? Can you think of any vamps or changelings that sold their souls to become demons thus far? It seems like the only people who that are humans.
I also have to add that the more likely possibility is that the writers screwed up - since Sam and Dean don't seem to be wondering how a demon in a meat suit pretended to flame out.I think he was intended to be a demon from the beginning and he was supposed to die when Cas burned his bones but then, later on, they needed his character to come back for another purpose so now they're simply scrambling to try and figure out a way to make it all work so that we, the viewers, will buy it.

SPOILER ALERT if you're not through with season 6!
Unless I'm wrong, though, Cas didn't actually burn *his* bones. It was to get the Winchesters off Crowley's scent. Remember Cas was already working with Crowley at that point in season 6 in order to open purgatory. I'm pretty sure Bobby said something about the bone-burning right before they confronted Cas at the end of season 6.
Well I knew Cas didn't actually burn Crowley's bones but that still doesn't explain the flame out. Even with Cas already working w/Crowley when he pretended to burn the bones - how did Crowley's meat suit go up in flames as if it were a real vanquish (for lack of a better word)? The fact that Cas was already working with Crowley is certainly more plausible than when we were expected to believe that Crowley actually managed to trick Cas, and if demons had the ability to flame out at will it would have explained why Crowley would play along in faking his own death.
BUT, Crowley was standing inside a demon trap one minute and was then a pile of smouldering ash on the floor the next and that is why I think the writers messed up.
When they needed Cas to be the misguided bad guy they decided to bring Crowley back and pretend that Cas and Crowley staged the whole thing - but they have thus far failed to explain how a demon, even with angel help, could escape a demon trap and make a meat suit flame out only to return later in mint condition.
Ahh, that is a good question about him going up in flames. I always assumed that was part of the ruse, but I guess it isn't actually explained. And I forgot that he was in a demon trap, too. You're probably right on that, then, that it's just a writer slip up. They definitely swept it under the rug, that's for sure. God knows, however awesome this show is, these writers have definitely left behind their fair share of plot holes, haha!
lol hell even they know that though. Look at the afore mentioned episode where they poked fun at themselves by writing Dean and Sam into a TV show about themselves. At least they have a good sense of humor. Nothing irks me more than a writer that screws up, realizes it too late, and when called on it instead of admitting to it tries to write their way around it. More often than not, unsuccessfully to boot. lol
Exactly! The writers have always had a good attitude about the show, I agree. That's a big part of why I still watch it even though it's not quite as great as it once was.Although, last night's season finale was tremendous! Did anyone else watch it?
L.M. wrote: "I had to force myself not to watch it since I missed all other eps. in ssn 7"Haha! The season itself was a little hit or miss, but it was a really great finale. Definitely stoked for season eight!
I just watched he first episode of season one. My employee kept talking to me about it. Especially Dean. It piqued my interest. I will try it out some more on Netflix. Gotta love Netflix.

I have just started watching on Netflix. I am about half way through season 1. Only 6 1/2 to go. LOL
Me too! I just started Season One on Netflix. Weird coincidence that I am reading Rick Yancey's Curse of the Wendigo (Monstrumologist Series) at the same time Dean & Sam faced one. Not a common myth, but it seems to be rounding out as a trope. "I Loved a Teenage Wendigo," anyone?
I'm going to have to get Supernatural on Netflix. I've never watched an episode but have had a few reviewers compare my latest novel, Broken Faith, to the show. I'm intrigued now!
Depressingly, Sky living haven't renewed it in the UK which is ridiculous. We got up to season 8 so I'll have to source it on DVD when it's released over here.
I only discovered supernatural this year and i am totally in love. Such a great show. I have binge watched eight and a half seasons, just need to finish off season nine and then onto season 10 woohoo :) i'm very excited haha
I liked this show and still watch it, but it seems to have lost its way. Its almost like the writers lost sight of what they were trying to do after they added all this angel/ Metatron stuff.
I own the first 5 seasons on dvd and need to get the rest of the seasons. I love this show too and I am happy it is still going strong. :)

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I adore this show. I never miss it! I do feel that its quality has sunk a wee bit in the last two seasons, but it's still an enjoyable show. I'm way too invested in Sam and Dean and Cas and Bobby (not to mention, Crowley, my secret lover) to give up on them now!
