After reading this book a thought struck me. I'm thinking what if Janie really belonged to the Springs (which I think is true) and when they were in that mall Hannah was there too and she saw Jennie and realized that if her parents will have another child to take care of then she'll be free and be able to live with the so-called cult of hers.
So.. Hannah is the one who kidnapped Jennie Springs. (I think)
Any thoughts?

There are more books to this series (just in case you didn't know).
Pretty good theory. I have read the other 2. do not want to spoil it ,but you could write at least book 2.
I gave this book 1 star. waste of time
Mason, you are wrong. These books are incredible.
They're not supposed to be a action books. All my friends I had given the books to loved them.

My original theory was that she kidnapped her so she could give her parents a second chance at raising a child.

This book was so poorly written, I can't even believe it got published. Mason, you are so so so correct. Negative five stars is a definite!!
i read this as a teen in foster care and LOVED it and then one of my best friends read it and love it. We were thirteen.
I'm not sure if you guys know this but it's a series. I thought that it was pretty good.
