The Academy discussion

Rayne walked down the hall (well, skipped) toward her dorm room. She hope her roommate would be cool and not stuffy. Without knocking, she barged open the door and ran into the room, tossing her bags down and jumping on the bed. She just noticed a girl there, and waved to her.

Rayne stopped jumping and plopped down on the bed. She grinned. "Looks like it," she said, then looked at her curiously. "I'm Rayne. You got a name?"

Rayne nodded slowly, thinking of what she imagined a princess to be like. "Ah, okay. Well, nice to meet ya, Dani. So." She looked around the room, disguising her disgust at all the pink surrounding her. "Do all the rooms look like this?"

Leaning on her arm, she smirked, looking upwards. "Oh yes, the pain of being a sophisticated princess." She laughed. "Which is why it's too boring to try." Then she stood and started decorating her part of the room.

"So people watch you alot?" Rayne finished decorating and walked over to her suitcase, unpacking her clothes and hanging them up. After realizing she was still wearing the long blue dress her father told her to wear, she quickly changed into a short denim skirt and tank top. Sighing, she sat back down on the bed. "Sounds like a drag. My dad hardly watches me..." thinking a moment, she mumbled, "is that why I'm here then...? Whatever. Anyway..."she looked at Dani. "Anything fun to do here?"

Rayne blinked, studying her. "well, i had no problem with the guys,"she laughed, a mischievous gleam in her eye. But seeing Danielle's expression, she quickly added, "but that's ... terrible." Her legs suddenly felt stiff and she frowned. She wondered if she'd ever get used to being in human form this long. She perked up at the word ocean. "Hey, swimming sounds fun!" She grinned. Then, standing, she grabbed her roommate's hand and ran out the room.

"What, and you think guys like me because of my brains? But ugh, guys who think they're hot when they're not are totally bonk." At the question of someone special, she blushed. "Well, I guess the special person is why I need to learn discipline. So I guess not anymore." She quickly brushed him from her mind and changed the subject. "But who cares, right? Let's go have some fun!"

Rayne pretended like she didn't care about him, but she secretly did, and stood and put on a false excited grin. "Of course I can help you!" She opened the door and made a mock curtsy. "After you, Princess Danielle." She laughed.

Rayne helped her with the bags, setting it down. Then she sat. "Are you confused?" she asked Dani.

Rayne nodded slowly. "I saw him, that's all." She shrugged like it was no big deal.

"I hope not." She frowned. "My dad would kill him...unless he doesn't know." She thought a moment. "I wonder if he's enrolling..."she wanted so badly to see him again, talk to him, but she would never say it.

"Yeah, of course, but... my dad has this thing about me dating. Which is why i date secretly. But he saw us talking and assumed we were dating, and that's why i apparently...need...discipline." Rayne sighed heavily. "I don't like being worried. It's stressful. Stress isnt fun." She was mumbling thoughts to herself now.

Rayne stifled a laugh. "I lost count,"she said sheepishly. "What about you?"

"It's fine. But i really thought a princess would have more experienced,"she teased. "It was always a fling. Really, i was trying to make Zach jealous ... didnt really work that well."she shrugged.

"I don't think so either,"she agreed thoughtfully with a little smirk. "Good choice staying away." She paused. "So are you thinking of getting a boyfriend while you're here?"

"Oh, don't say that. You can talk to me if you have issues with her future boyfriend."she grinned and patted Dani's hand. "So. Why don't we change into a new outfit and go have some fun!" She jumped up from her seat.

"Yeah, you could totally elope." Rayne grinned. "Awesome!"she held up an outfit. "Is this good?"

"Hang out with me longer and i'll convince you to get a belly button ring." Rayne said, half serious. Of course, she already had one. She put on the clothes and waited for Dani. "So, want a coffee? I'm thinking a cafe."

Rayne didn't expect her to think it was cool. "It doesn't hurt,"she said. "I have one.." she opened the door and waited. "And yeah, I'm starving too. Let's go." She smiled.

"Eh, i'll take it." She walked through the door and they headed to the cafe at the beach.

Rayne grinned mischievously. "well yeah. Dont worry, I'm sure waiter-boy will love you in a dress." Pulling her dress from earlier over her head, she slipped the dress for the party on. Then she started on her makeup, and texted people about the party.

"Hmm. If you're going fir sexy I'd go with the first one. But..."she pulled out a different dress and put it on. It was more form-fitting. She looked at herself in the mirror. "Sexy works."she nodded. "Go with the first."

"Certain! You look hot." Rayne looked at herself in the mirror; she mentally thanked the push-up bra. The dress hugged perfectly to her curves and made her legs look, admittedly from her, really good. "Oh by the way, lots of people are gonna be there. If you feel insecure-- which you shouldnt-- you can blend in. Besides, don't you wanna look good if you get lucky and kiss your waiter tonight?" She smiled slyly.

"I guess I shoulda figured you'd know, since I do. Oh and the silver flats, that way you can take then off whenever. You know."Rayne laughed for a second, then her face turned serious. "Nope. And, I don't know, is it crazy to wonder about what he'll think?"she blushed and pretended to look for something in her purse.

"The flats. And,"she added, looking at her. "You need a push-up bra, definitely. What size are you? B? You could borrow one of mine. It's clean, I swear." As she looked for one, she thought aloud, "Him not thinking could go both ways..."

She pulled out a lacy bra and tossed it to her. She looked at her quizzically. "What have you been doing all your life? Living in a cave?" She laughed, then put some lipstick on and brushed her curly hair.

"Ah... um, sure."Rayne grabbed the makeup and started working on her. Ten ninutes later she stood straight and announced, "perfect!"she checked the time. Five minutes left. "Ready to go, princess?"she grinned.

Rayne followed, excitedly skipping too. They went quickly to the beach.

Rayne grinned as she handed Dani and Zach a microphone. "Everyone's gonna do a solo, I'm warning you."she narrowed her eyes in a joking threat. "Okay, so what song?"

Rayne smiled at this and nudged Zach. "Aw, afraid of a little competition, are you?"she chose "What makes you beautiful" and hopped up and down on her heels in anticipation.

"Pfft. Okay then, Mister Extreme-Challenger." Rayne rolled her eyes too. "But Dani and I have mad skills, right Dani?" She grinned.
The song started.

Rayne really got into the song and was sad when it ended. "Solo time!" She announced, running over to the bed and jumping on it. She had too much energy. "Dani first!"She grinned.

"Oooooh, sing "our song" by Taylor Swift!"She jumped higher. Then she looked at Zach. "Oh, come on this is fun!" She said to him.

Rayne laughed. "Woooooooooo!! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the next Taylor Swift!"She grinned.

Rayne hopped off the bed. "Shoot, and i was gonna get a laugh from Zach first."She grinned impishly at Zach. "So what song?" She asked, grabbing a mic and the remote to the game.

After the song she bowed jokingly and looked to Zach. "The mic beckons to you, Zach."She raised an eyebrow for.emphasis.

Rayne smiled and handed Zach the mic. "What shall you sing? Hmm..."She thought for a moment. "Drive By' by Train!" She hopped on the bed again and jumped.

Rayne clapped, grinning. "Yeah, go Zach!"She laughed.

"It was great...for a merman,"Rayne teased. She stopped jumping and plopped down on the bed, sighing. "Yeah, the coffee wore off."She pretended to snore.

"If you don't give me a good enough reason not to i will push you off."Rayne smiled sweetly as she said this. "Besides, isn't it like... ugh."She yawned.

"Weird."She poked his face, grinning sleepily. "I was saying it's late, but now I'm thinking i should push you off." She stretched her legs out.

"Mhm."Rayne sat up, crossed her legs, and said, "okay, i will push you off."She shoved his shoulder with one hand, then tried both hands. She frowned. "You're sturdier than you look," she mumbled. Then she pushed hin as hard as she could, but suddenly lost her balance and fell forward.

"I can push you off when I'm awake, okay?" She paused and looked at his face, too mesmerized to speak. She wondered when he had looked so perfect... for a moment she allowed herself to wonder what kissing him would be like.

Rayne swallowed, glancing at his lips. But what if he didn't like her like that and she would make a complete fool of herself? Leaning closer, she decided it was worth the risk and pressed her lips softly against his.

Rayne was relieved and glad he didn't pull away, and closed her eyes and kissed him again, her hands slowly resting on his arms.

Rayne felt overwhelmed with emotions. She was too busy wrapping her arms around his neck and.kissing him to notice someone walking into the room. She didn't remember why she hadn't done this alot sooner.

Rayne pulled away at Dani's voice, her face flushed. Her arms fell to her side and she grinned at Dani. "'Sup," was all she thought of. She glanced at Zach.
