I bought both book club books from Amazon. I'm thinking we should set up an Amazon account. I was talking to the Executive Director of the "Space Literacy Foundation" (I'm on the Board) and we talked about creating a "buy one, give one" program like Tom's Shoes does. For each book that gets bought, we give a copy to a local school library... What do you think?
I just started using audible.com. It is a great way to absord a book. I use it while driving instead of listening to the radio. Also, nook ebooks allow you to "lend" ebooks for two weeks. I have a first generation Nook (black and white) which is readable in sunlight, however the screen doesn't show graphs or images well.
Libraries are also excellent sources. If you haven't been to a public library recently I strongly recommend checking one out. My real problem is the room all the books I own take up.
I feel you're pain Frank. That's why I'm trying out an ereader but I prefer to have the book in my hands and a pencil to makes notes.
Ya, I like the FEEL of a book in my hand. Until the digital books allow me to scribble in the margins, I'm gonna keep using paperbooks.
You should see my copy of Abundance - LOTS of underlines, LOTS of stars. I treated it like a textbook. I'll go back through it again and highlight details for our talk next week.

Actually you can highlight and make notes in the Kindle Fire. My copy of Abundance is full of yellow too. But there's just something better about a good old book.
LiftPort does have a Book Club Book store. http://bit.ly/LiftPortAmznBooks to help you find the hard copy or kindle. Looking for more suggestions to add.
Thanks Michelle for creating this. It doesn't have the tethers book, (which I just bought on Amazon) but it does have the Mining one. We'll need to keep this updated.

Cant help thinking this would be the next logical step. Perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Note would be the answer? I have a Kindle Touch, a kindle Fire and a Nexus 7. None of them really work well with a stylus - it's kind of like trying to draw with your elbow.
It would be nice to be able to make handwritten notes on an ebook. Just think of the fun we could have proofreading a book like 50 shades....

Strangely the Liftport book itself is not available in ebook format. If you want to get a copy in the UK it means waiting for one to be shipped from the US. Come on Liftport! This is the only PAPER book I've bought in over a year!
