Liam and his group snuck into the castle and proceeded to gag and tie up all the elves they came across. They raided room upon room and finally made it to the throne room, where they left a note saying 'We're sorry we must fight back against you. Only you can end the fighting' before doing one last loop. Liam felt great about this raid. Everything had happened according to plan. Then he felt a sharp pain in his temple and he collapsed, slipping away from the world.
Wren stood in the field, keeping watch with a couple of others for wandering castle guards. Everything was extremely quiet, and they had come across none so far. Wren worried that they were all up at the castle, fighting and outnumbering Liam and the others. She brought down a vine, and flew up into a tree, hoping for a better view. But the world seemed to be standing still, and there was no commotion at all. Wren squinted at the outline of the castle, anxiously. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She swung out of the tree and started running towards the castle. "Where are you going? We have orders to stay here!" called a fairy behind her.Wren said nothing and hurried on, hoping they wouldn't try to stop her. It wouldn't work, but she didn't want them to follow her. "I'm sorry Liam," she whispered to herself.
Tom {random fill in charrie} saw as the arrow hit Liam in the head. The raid was just barely over when it happened. Everyone saw and immediately went over to pick him up. Tom carried Liam through the fields while whistling the final signal to retreat.
Wren had just reached the castle when she heard the signal. She turned hurriedly around to see fairies running towards the forest again, dodging arrows that whizzed past them. She tore after them as fast as her legs could carry her.When she got there, she anxiously began calling Liam's name. Then sh saw him. Being carried by another fairy. "LIAM!" Wren screamed. She ran to his side. She drew in her breath when she saw the bloody gash on the side of his head. "Liam!" she cried again. "No! I should've gone! I could've... I could've..." She trembled with anguish and regret. She turned to Tom. "How did this happen?!"
Liam was now half awake. His eyes fluttered and he mumbled something incoherent.
Tom saw the girls running toward him and Liam.
"Can you help?" he asked the now weeping girl.

Wren took a deep breath. She thought for a moment. "Yes!"she exclaimed. "But we must bring him to the forest. Quickly!"
Arise paced angrily in her council chamber. "You there!" she barked. "What just happened?" The elf she'd named was not particularly smart, she knew, and he cowered in terror before her. "Who's fault is it that we were just very nearly crushed, hmm? What have you to say for yourself?" She was seething with anger. This could not happen again. One-fourth of her soldiers dead, half of her horses gone or crippled, her main water supply tainted with the blood of those who were supposed to be fighting for her, not lying on a bed with hardly any hope of recovering. And all this rested on the awareness of a few idiots. "You, sir, shall go tonight to the dungeons, to be treated as a prisnor until I decide you have had enough time to realize how lucky you are to still have your life, and to make sure nothing of this sort hapens again, for if it does, you can be sure that you will meet your death immediately, and I shall not make it quick." Her eyes searched the rest of the table sending an icy gaze at everyone And as for the rest of you? Do I have any more disloyalties or complaints?"(Anyone?)
{Oh! Sorry, I didn't see that. :() }A guard in the shadows was gripping his bow tightly, resisting the urge to send an arrow at her in rage. He was growing tired of Arise and her power hungry cruelty. Her sharp voice echoed through the castle, leaving all remaining guards cowering in fear. He was no longer sure it was necessary to annihillate the entire fairy race. He knew he would either be killed on the spot or sent to the dungeon if he spoke out against her. He glared fiercely at the ground, ashamed of his cowardice...
{I don't believe I have an evil character yet. Besides my love bird, Wren. He he... Wren XD. So I could try to be evil... XD }
"I think I have a complaint or two..." murmered a voice from behind the door. Silvanus strode in, a look of amusement on his face. He came up from behind Arise and rested his hand on her shoulder. "Dear Arise, what a stunning speech that was," he said mockingly. He made electric sparks dance on the tips of his fingers on the hand that touched Arise's shoulder, teasing her as they just barely missed her skin. He was enjoying the looks of pure terror on the remaining guards' faces. They were so pathetically helpless! "We were very close to being..." he smirked at Arise. "Crushed." He furrowed his brow, suddenly, and his voice became serious. "You fools have costed us, and disgraced both yourselves and this castle. Elves will begin questioning our ability to protect them, and to destroy the enemy." He was glaring now, and his hands were balled into fists at his sides, lightning slowly building up in them. Silvanus made eye contact with a guard nearby, who winced and tried to escape Silganus' piercing gaze. He spoke slowly and threateningly, "If you let them slip through your fingers again..." The terrified crowd cringed. Silvanus grabbed the arm of the nearby guard. "There will be no place safe for you," he finished. And with that, he sent an electric jolt through the unlucky guard's body, who fell unconcious and maybe dead to the ground.
{Tears came to my eyes when I read that, Mel, I kid you not. Whether I was laughing or crying I do not know. Maybe it was a complete coincidence. But I love your character. Very intense. LOVE IT!!}
"Now, now, Silvanus, you mustn't frighten them. That is my job." Arise said, rising to stand near him. Her gaze bore into all the elves gathered there. "But I must say, he is right." Determined not to be shown up by Silvanus, she leaned over and took the elf she had scolded earlier by the chin. Making him look into her eyes, she said, "Is he not right, Goran?"The elf trembled. "No, majesty, I mean, yes. Yes, he is right."
"Good." Arise threw him backwards with ease, toppling over his chair and slamming him to the floor. "Now then, you all are dismissed," she barked. As Silvanus walked out, she caught him by the arm. "You stay here. I should like to exchange words," she told him.
{He doesn't have to be Goran, but I needed a name.}
Josh shivered, slightly hunched over in a corner observing Arise. She was so beautiful when she was angry...While everyone else filed out he lingered.
"Would...W-W-Would you like m-m-me to st-s-stay, t-t-too, Your m-m-Majesty?" he stuttered.
"Would...W-W-Would you like m-m-me to st-s-stay, t-t-too, Your m-m-Majesty?" he stuttered.
"Look at me," she hissed. "Who's side are you on?!" As his gaze met hers, he paled, feeling a cold spike go straight through his chest.
Josh meekly looked up into her eyes. Chills ran down his spine and his body turned cold to the core. "I-I-Yours," he sputtered.
"Great." She gave a dazzling smile, but it was cold, oh so cold, and had no warmth in it whatsoever.
"Well, for now, you can bring me, and Silvanus here, some warm biscuits, some jam, and some tea." She watched him as he scurried out the door."Now, then," she muttered, turning back to Silvanus. "Where was I?"
Ducky wrote: "{Tears came to my eyes when I read that, Mel, I kid you not. Whether I was laughing or crying I do not know. Maybe it was a complete coincidence. But I love your character. Very intense. LOVE IT!!}"{Aw! Thank you!!! :D :) }
"We were about to 'exchange words' I believe," Silvanus murmured, looking at Arise impatiently. "What could you possibly want?"
{Dude, I love your character. It's the weirdest feeling. I mean, your character's great, it's just...weird...}"Ahh, yes," she said. "This is my council, and I don't believe I gave you permission to come to it. In fact, how did you even know it was going on?" She glared at him. "And also this: we need a better plan. That cannot happen again, or we are gone like that." She snapped her fingers a breath away from his face. "I can't figure out what we need. Better soldiers? More of them, definitely, but where do we get them? And how do we make sure we're given warning next time? Do we enforce more punishment? So many questions. But just think: Queen Arise, has a nice ring to it, don't you think? The most powerful queen in millennium, with power over both fairies and elves." She laughed cruelly. "Sound good?"
{That all seemed kind of quick now that I read it. Oh, well, it's enough for Silvanus to comprehend. XD}
{Thanks. Hmm. Interesting...}Silvanus returned her glare. He felt a chill starting as Arise's eyes bore into him. He breathed out once through his nose, and a small puff of electric smoke blew out and squashed the feeling.
"As for your first question, I have my ways of finding things out. Secondly, yes, we obviously cannot afford to let those miscreant fairies raid the castle and escape again. Thank you, Arise, for pointing that out," he said, sarcastically.
"However, I do know what we need. A surprise attack. But first we need to know more about this clan. Their meeting places, their leader, his weaknesses, and what we're up against. Bring a few of your strongest and most trusted soldiers to go looking for them, and seek out the necessary information. Then come back to the castle, and we will plan our attack. Agreed?" He strode to the door, not waiting for a reply. "Leave as soon as possible," he said. "And," he added. "Do not hold your breath, Queen Arise." Silvanus walked out the door, a smirk on his face.
{What does that mean?} {I like your spy idea, very clever.}Arise watched him leave, contemplating what he'd just said. There had to be some good soldiers in this lot, hadn't there? She decided that if she were to find them, and make sure they were truly good, she had to construct a test. As she wandered off to her desk, she wondered vaguely where that chap--what was his name?--that was supposed to bring her bread had got off to. Oh, well, she thought. The less people that hear, the more that stays secret.
{Oh, sorry. I was referring to her comment on becoming the powerful queen of the millennium. And thanks. ;) }
Arise watched her secretary nail the announcement to the castle board. "All competant soldiers looking for an opportunity to be paid handsomely in both money and bragging rights shall report to Arise, Queen of the Elves, to have their name put upon a sign-up list for the Great Competition of Skills, to take place on the 9th day from this one." How many will show up? Better yet, how many will be able to pull off the tasks they are given? she wondered. Then she turned and went to her desk to see who would come first.
