Yori walks in. He lets the top of his robe drop to be held in place by the rope around his waist which also keeps it from opening. His broad tanned chest rippled with muscle as he started his Thai chi exercises.

Jess had only just arrived at the academy, and the first thing she wanted to do -- no, what she needed to do -- was push her thoughts out of her mind, and the best thing she knew to do this was fighting. Now, if she could only find a good sparring partner. It seemed nobody was good enough. She was walking into the clear area when she saw a guy there. She froze a moment, catching her breath but not showing her fear. He was just some guy, he couldn't hurt her. She wouldn't let him if he tried. She stepped forward again, eyes stonily as she prepared herself.
As Yori continued his exercises he felt some one watching him. He touched his thumbs together and interlocked his fingers keeping them all straight. He felt a familiar sensation as the line on his forehead opened revealing a third eye. Lifing his stick he started to spin it then launched it moving faster than lightning towards the person. It flew straight and landed embedded in the tree next to her. A sound bigger than a gunshot went of seconds later. he stood with his back turned to her
Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the stick in the tree. Her hands clenched at her sides before she gripped the stick and ripped it out of the tree, facing him. "Show yourself," she said, although she could barely make his figure out because of the distance, her expression hard and emotionless. Who was this person? No matter, she was ready for a fight.
((he was in the middle of the clearing haha)) Senseing her moving he waited til the last second before ducking and spinning a foot around to trip her. She still couldn't see his face
((Oh sorry i didn't know. I'll fix that...))She jumped away just as his foot passed an inch away from her. Smirking, she stood on guard and flexed her fists. "Gonna have to do better than that."
"Who says I wasn't." Folding his hands together as if praying with his pinkies crossed he chanted. faster than the human eye could see he reached out and tapped the back of his staff twice. it fell from her hands and in one solid movement he put a foot on the top and jumped much higher than possible. he hung suspended in the air for what seemed like minutes. she couldn't see him due to the suns glare
Her hand was a little sore now, from the stick slapping out of her hand so quickly. Anger ran through her veins as she was caught off guard. She kicked the bottom of the staff hard, knocking it and him off, and then too quick for him to notice, she appeared suddenly behind him and twisted his arm behind his back sharply. "I did."
He quickly turns and flips her over his shoulders. they are still holding hands and he smiles. his third eye closing so she couldn't see it. "If rain falls how do you count them all?" He realeased her and she stumbled back. Yori droped into a lotis position his right leg crouched low and his other perfectly straight. this hands formed blades and her spun jumped and let out a loud kia while throwing punches
A sharp pain shot through her, unsure what he did, as she stumbled back. She didn't know how to respond. Her guarded arms protectively in front of her, she blocked his blows and hurriedly slid over to the side away from his hits. He was a worthy opponent, for sure. Her face set, she blinked and her eyes changed red, which happened whenever she was irritated or concentrating. A small sigh escaped her lips as she continued blocking his hits while managing to throw punches at his weak points, determined.
Huh, he thought, this girl is pretty tough even. he was contemplating using another mantra but decided against it. Maybe if he no. he dismissed that to. while they fought she got some good shots in but so did he. Letting his guard down he received a nasty punch to the head and toppled to the ground. unmoving and not breathing he laid there
She winced a little every time he got a hit in, clutching her side as he fell to the ground. Had she won? Was he defeated? She breathed a sigh of relief, catching her breath while he was down. She just hoped he wasn't dead. She didn't want to kill anyone, not that she'd never done that before but still.
Executing a perfect Autumn leaf strike he dug a toe into her Achilles heel. She fell next to her and seeing her rage he dug a thumb into the vein on the side of her neck. Blocking the blood flow she instantly calmed down. "When studying a wall if you look too closely at the cracks you might miss it falling."
She gasped silently as she fell beside him, her eyes narrowing slightly when she felt his thumb on her neck but suddenly her eyes returned to its normal color and the tensity withered away. She glanced at him, realizing he won. "What?"
"you too easily believed that you had beaten me. you where to close to see that while you where trying to know down the wall.. it fell."
She sat up and moved away from him. She didn't like how foolish she seemed now... She felt stupid. "Oh." She nodded and stood, crossing her arms. She didn't remember the last time she'd been beaten in a match.
Yori yet out a long deep laugh "I have never been so tired in my life." He let out an exasperated huf. "Im yori."
The ends of her mouth lifted into a smile hearing this. Yeah, she was exhausted, too, more than she'd admit. "I'm Jess," she replied, leaning against the tree.
Yori gets up breathing heavily. he was silent for a couple seconds before chanting while crossing only his pointer fingers to form an x. His bruises healed and his breathing became regular
Jess watched him eerily, wondering how he could heal so quickly. Of course, since she was a vampire, she healed rapidly but this... what was he? She sighed and crossed her arms. "So, Yori... What are you?"
"My sensei taught me. My.... my family is gone..... I was the only survivor of my village he saved me. We ran until we reached a temple on the Hyui mountains.... Then he passed and i had to leave. But he taught me these arts and the five rings."
"He taught me the mantras of elements, emotion, and spiritual. They allow me to do channel my energy where it is needed. Like this" He puts both his hands forward til just his pointer fingers touch. Chanting his muscels ripple and seem to move. he runs and punching a tree his first goes straight threw it... after a few seconds the midsection explodes and the tree falls. Yori steps in and catches it.
She watched, interested. "Hm. Nice," she said, which was a big complement from her since she rarely said anything relatively nice. "So... You're really strong then?"
She looked around, and everything appeared peaceful. She wondered how anything could be this calm and quiet. She didn't remember the last time anything was this...beautifully simple.
((I know soory I have been swamped this week)) "A person who spendslife covered in brick never gets to watch the world change. My Father..... my sensai used to tell me that."
She sighed softly, and nodded slightly before becoming suddenly fascinated with the small dirt gathered on her shoe.
"The monkey knows best when in the trees." As he finished this he shot a hand out. His hand perfectly straight as a knife rushing right to her face.
"The reason you fell earlier is because it is not night. You are not in your zone." He Folded his hands. his figertips interlocked and thumbs up. Chanting the world seemed to shake. Then went black as he raised the moon. "Its not real dont worry. Its all in our heads. Right now we are both asleep under the tree."
She slowly looked around, both surprise and perplexity painting her face. How..was this possible? Were they in some sort of a dream or something? "What is this?"
"This is the Shinzu world. It ties the imagination and physical realm to gether. yous hould be stronger here. Our bodies will be safe. This will only last 12 seconds or so but to us... much longer. Me and the monks would train endlessly here." Thats when he opened his third eye
"It's..." Amazing, was what she wouldn't say. She found herself staring wide-eyed at his third eye. Where did that come from? She quickly recovered and took a step back, crossing her arms.
She narrowed her eyes, and in a flash she was a yard away from him. She didn't want to get angry, when that happened...bad things happened.
"Embrace it! Channel it! Use and control it!" He sprints and running forward faster than lightning grabs her wrist. "Hit me." He says with a smile
Her expression hard, she could've easily removed her wrists from his grasp, but instead she kicked him hard in the gut.
Yori reels back with the blow and smiles. Surprised he is a little winded. "Thats more like it" He spins and thrusts his leg out again. He stops short of her neck
His leg barrly grazed her when she moved, but it would still probably leave a bruise, she was sure of. She throws some punches at him.
Yori sees them coming slightly before they happen with his eye. He casually dodges all of them before catching her wrist. "You can do better than that." He shoves her back smileing
