I would highly recomend both the film and the book, which are apsolutely brilliant & so universal that anyone could relate to it. I have written a review on the book (on my profile) if this helps, on what it is about & my thoughts! x
Hey all! I have to say I loved the book and didn't like the movie so much. I know the movie can never be the book but this one was edited in such a way that I didn't get the same feelings I did from reading the book. The book was AMAZING and I agree with Lucinda that it is one everyone can relate to.
The book is something that should definately be added to to-read lists if you haven't already read it, as it is increadible...and perhaps as Mirely commented even better than the film?! x
The help was defiantly an emotional movie to say the least. I can't believe that something like this actually happened to these individuals. I just wanted to slap the red-headed girl. Good movie. :)
I know what you mean!! Yes, it is a great film & one that deserved all the credit it recieved at the Baftas last year. x
*Laughing* yes it is an increadible book & one that i got rather excited about whilst writing my review on it! The film was excellent too and i could not help but feel that it should have deserved a bit more credit than it recieved by some of the critics....my review of the book is under my 'profile page' if interested. x
Hi! Just an FYI things like this continue to happen to some folks. Depends on where you go in the country. I'm glad it brought awareness.
The book was GREAT. I really liked the movie, but I thought they left out too much. It was still a really good and emotional movie. I suggest for everyone that saw the movie to read the book!

I also agree with you that those who have only seen the film HAVE to read the book, as it goes into so much more depth and detail.

I have watched the movie and read the book and listened to the audio with three narrators. I loved them all!!!! My favorite two characters in the movie are Minnie Jackson and Celia Foote and Master Jonny. I just love them to death and I wish that Celia had been the fourth character to have her point of view read by a narrator.
I don't read many audio books, but this one could be an exception as i think it would be great to listen to. x
Thanks Lucinda. I really did love Celia and Jonny Foote in the movie. They were just adorable together.
http://screencrave.com/wp-content/upl...As you look at this picture, keep in mind that scene where Hilly eats s**t pie. She also deserved it.
Caitlin wrote: "This is one of my favourite movies (and books) ever. I love it so much! :)"It is just totally unique with such a distinctive storyline, that stands out a mile in my opinion.
