What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I believe I read this in the last few years, sounds like a real case in England that it is based on, but it is a novel (that is all that comes up when I google it.) Three poor pre-teen boys in England take a toddler on a whim and lead him around until it comes out they eventually killed him. Nothing jumps out at me on my goodreads list. Did I dream it?

Maybe Boy A by Jonathan Trigell - "A novel partly based on the lives of James Bulger's killers....tells the story of Jack, a young man released into society after serving time for murder.

He and a friend killed a 10-year-old girl when they were just children themselves.

Thanks, but it's not the one I am thinking of. This one doesn't take place after the boys were released.

This Body of Death by Elizabeth George. It is a parallel story within the main plot that Lynley is working on, the murder of a young woman who's body is found in a cemetary. That's why I didn't recognize it at first in my list. Just keep googling different search terms!
