i hope there is! but not bitterblue and saf...bitterblue and giddion!
I would love to see the story in three years and see what changes have happened. King Randa is dead and Raffin and the Council are at the throne. He's made a decree that same-sex marriages are now legal and he's living happily with Bann. Bitterblue and Giddon are dating. Katsa and Po are still doing their non-married thing, but Ror is on his deathbed and has said Po can be king, but only if he marries. But now we have two more kingdoms and they are no longer in truce. One has declared war against another. Sapphire has married one of the Dellian princesses so he expects Lienid and Monsea to side with them. However, Bitterblue is torn and sends her spy, Hava, to find out exactly what is going on. Hava meets a Graceling who has the grace to see everything exactly as it is, so he can see Hava no matter what she wants someone to see her as. Because he can sense deceit and truth, he is a spy for Saf and the Dellians. These two characters must use their abilities to find out exactly what is going on and figure out a way to bring peace to the kingdoms.
Well, that's what would happen if I wrote the next book. :-)

Didn't anyone else think Saf was more of a jerk than not? I think it would be better if stayed a learning experience for Bitterblue, and I do think KC

I have heard that there will be another book. As far as I'm concerned, she could keep on going with this series for a long time to come. And I agree...don't leave us hanging with Saf!

i COMPLETELY agree!!
i COMPLETELY agree!!
I was poking around her blog (http://kristincashore.blogspot.ca/201...) and she said this:
"But the fact remains that I'm stuck with the powers I gave him in Graceling, so the best I can do is work really hard to make him as real as I can whenever he appears, think hard about my future representations of him, and try to be more thoughtful about this issue with new characters."
about Po (re: Acknowledgements in Bitterblue)which lead her to say this:
"I wish I'd thought more carefully about race when I first created these worlds, been more explicit, thoughtful, and careful about creating characters of color. I intend to do so in future, and expect to create the opportunity for it with the next book I write in my fantasy world."
So not anounced or official or anything but I suspect we may have reason to be excited in coming months when she might anounce her intention :D Also forget romance, the map just grew! The politics! What's in store for the Dellians?? And please please can we read what happened in those years D= (Fire fan here of course lol)

There was so much that wasn't told! What about Saf!? It can't just end like that!
I just finished Bitterblue and I'm having trouble detaching myself from the Graceling Realm and going back to the real world haha. It seems like Kristin Cashore won't end the series soon, which is comforting. And I love seeing other fans of the series:))

I want there to be another books set in the Dells, like maybe before Fire? I really liked the ideaofit and would love Kristin to continue. If not,Maybe Bitterblue has like a Graced daughter or something.
I totally want Saf and Bitterblue to come together as a couple in a new book, maybe from Sapphires point of view? Or a new character altogether :) but with all the charcters involved too. Maybe have the story of Safs adventures on the Dellian sea and he goes back to Monsea for a visit? Or something. I don't know, but what I do know is that she can't leave me hanging! I love Saf :)
I love Saf!!!! Some of ya'll are saying Saf is too immature to be with Bitterblue but I completely disagree. Bitterblue needs Saf in order to have some fun every now and then. She's so boring and busy all the time. Saf needs to show her how to have fun! :)
I feel like Kristin Cashore could keep writing. But...leaving the mystery is something.
Remember 'Frozen'? The troll dude? He said he would change the memories but keep the fun. I guess it's kinda like that. For this series, we all could beg her to write, but she might never. That's the problem...but, at the same time, it's intriguing. We will always wonder...
And wonder, sometimes, is the best for us.

I agree. She could energizer bunny this and just keep going and going and going. I would love it even though Bitterblue was my least favorite.
