Alex peeked his head through the door, seeing if anyone else were iun the cabin. He couldn't see anyone so he trotted inside, hands lazily in his pockets. He plopped down on his bed, spreading out, with his head at the foot of the bed, and his legs hanging off. "I'm bored." He complained to one in particular, just the air and the cieling. "Great, now I'm talking to myself to..." He murmered, rolling his blue eyes at himself.
Calypso peeked her head out from underneath her bunk, where she had been reading. She often found strange places to be by herself, and never cared about what people thought of her because of it. "Talking to yourself is fine," her voice was soft and melodic, "I do it all the time. You're just as sane as I am." Her blue eyes were blinking rapidly; not used to the bright light. She gave Alex a bright smile.
Alex swerved his head in the direction of the voice, white bangs dancing across his eyes like a curtaint. "Well hello there." He broke into a grin as he spoke. For siome reason he just plain liked being around people, and his mood had brightened. "Really? That's a a relief, I though it was just me."
Calypso laughed, her bright blue eyes sparkling. "Hello. I'm Calypso." She pulled herself completely out from under the bunk and sat down on the floor with her legs crossed. Her blonde hair was curly as ever and falling in her face.
"I'm guessing your my half-sis. To bad." Alex made a slightly pouty face to himself, before sitting up. His clothes were, as always, wrinkled and his pants were smudges with dirt streaks. His eyes were bright against his pale skion, a grin from ear to ear on his lips. "I'm Alex. Alex Moon."
Calypso smiled and tilted her head, "Hello Alex Moon." She tucked the loose hair behind her ear. She looked around the room, "It's all rather bright. I'm guessing that's just me, though."
"Maybe. I pretty much suck at every power I've got. Exept for one, I can pretty much play any instrument I touch. Don't know how, but I blame always having a song stuck in my head on Pops." Alex pointed a figure upward.
"Music is wonderful," Calypso smiled and nodded, "I love it. I'm not the best with instruments, but I can sing..."
Jay stuck her head in. "He-ey guys!" she said in her sing-song voice. "'Sup?" She looked at Alex, scrutinizing him. "You new?"
Jay walked in and climbed up to her bunk. She smiled at Calypso.
"Oh, well if I tried to sing I bet every mirror in the world would shatter to pieces-I'm that bad." Alex commented, his eyes flicking toward Jay, "Not really, I just have been coming and going for awhile from the camp. Now I'm here to stay though. And kinda, I'm stuck trying to keep the newgirl, since I met her a while back, from killing anyone here." He said.
Calypso laughed, "You can't be that bad! Can you?"
Jay frowned. "Which new girl? And you're really that bad at singing? I thought all Apollo kids sang well. I can."
"No I'm not joking you-I can play but singing, everybody clear out of the room! Oh, er I think her name was something like Serpent. Yeah, she generally avoids everyone but when someone gets on her nerves...she's defently not all talk." Alex replied.
Jay frowned. "Serpent? You mean Rose?" She snorted. "She seemed weird to me. And a show-off. Why does she call herself Serpent anyway?"
Calypso cut in with her soft voice, "Serpent's a nice name."
Asmaa wrote: "Jay frowned. "Serpent? You mean Rose?" She snorted. "She seemed weird to me. And a show-off. Why does she call herself Serpent anyway?"""No! No! No!" Alex was over in a heart beat, shoving his hand over her mouth. He narrowed his eyes. "How do you know her name?! No is supposed to know. She's not a show off either. Look, don't go spreading her name around the camp. Her powers go wild when the nightmares come back."
Calypso jumped, "Why is no one supposed to know?"
"Er...because she has a lot of rage, and a lot of bad memories that have something to do with that name. I don't really know anything other than what I just said." Alex tilted his head slightly.
Jay pushed Alex away. "You know her or something?"
"You...could say that. I um, for a few months, since I was a foster kid, her grandfather took me in to live with him when I ran away. She was only seven or eight than. We met up again when she was about fifteen, we helped each other until just...vanished one day. When she came to camp, I could hardly believe it was her." Alex admitte,d with a lazy shrug.
Jay looked at him closely with her mesmerizing eyes. "You feel responsible for her."
((does Alex like Serpent?))
((does Alex like Serpent?))
((Notta-Alex is just kinda....weird.))"She feels like my little sister, even though we're not related okay?" Alex stared back, for ojnce a seriouse exprestion was on his features.
Jay shrugged and leaned back onto the headboard of her bunk. "Whatever you say. Now, sing. I want to see if you're really that terrible."
"Ah!" Alexc moaned like a little kid about to be forced to go to the mall to shop with their mother all day, "But I don't wanna, it'll sound like a screaming banshee!"
Jay smirked. "Come on! I won't laugh."
"Nung-uh." Alex whimpered, giving her his best pouty look. "Pllllllease sis, I don't think it's a good idea."
Jay laughed. "Okay, okay, I'll take pity on you. So, if you don't sing, what do you play?"
"Everything and anything!" Alex's mood brightened up, his white and black hair almost glowing from the delight he carried. "I just need an instruments."
Jay grinned. "Well then you're set." She jerked he thumb toward the back of the cabin. "In there, you will find every instrument you can think of."
Alex's eyes went wide. For being seventeen he could sure act like a child. He praticaully ran toward the back of the room, peaking around. He pulled out a few insturments, until he found one he liked, a black and gold trimmed flute. He sat down cross legged, and began to play a fast paced song. It was a merry song, the type that made you want to dance along and clap your hands to the rythem.
Jay tapped her foot in time to the beat. "That was great! You really can play well!" She loved music and singing.
Alex tilted his head just slightly to aknowledge her compliment, though he kept playing until he was out of breathe. Than he lowered the flute away from his lips. "Any request, sis?"
Jay shook her head. "I like any music. And I'm not gonna give up on your singing. One day, you will sing in front of me. I can be very persuasive, you know."
"We'll see about that." Alex chuckled, pulling the flute back to his lips. he began to play a soft, slow song, though it lightened the heart.
Jay smiled slightly and leaned forward, listening.
Calypso smiled and leaned against her bunk.
"You can play or sing along. Make up random words and dance." Alex suggested, grinning like a loony fool.
Calypso smiled, "All right." She started to sing- a light, wordless tune- in her beautiful, sweet voice.
Alex smirked faintly, as he began to play again. He carfully rose to his feet and began to swirl around the room, sending the music in every corner of the cabin. He laughed between songs, loving his new musical family.
Calypso laughed along with him as she sang.
At last Alex collasped on his bed, huffing and puffing. He let the flute lay beside him, his legs hanging off the bed. He chuckled a bit. "That...was fun." He panted, completely out of breathe.
Calypso sat on her bed, "Very!" she laughed.
Jay laughed. "I love to sing."
"I've seen that!" Calypso laughed again.
Jay frowned at him. "Alex, sing now," she commanded, unknowingly using charmspeak.
