Azarious walks into the cabin behind the girl who met her outside. "So this is a camp for, um, demi-gods?" She says slowly, almost certain the girl will laugh at her.
Lana waved her hand expansively at the cabin and grinned crookedly. "Welcome to the Hermes cabin. I'm the head counselor. I'm Lana." She paused then decided not to give her last name.
"I'm Azarious," she said. If this girl wasn't going to share her full name, why should she? "My dad told me this camp was for...half-bloods...." She waited for the Lana to deny it.
Lana nodded, serious now. "Well Azarious, your dad was telling you the truth. We're all half-blood's here, or demigods. Half human and half..." She waited for her to get it.
"Great," She mumbles. "So what does that mean? What does the job include? Why the camp?" She stopped short. She had one more question but decided to keep it to herself.
"Demigods. We're demigods-half human and half god." Lana looked at Azarious calmly. "This is a safe haven for kids like us. This is the Hermes cabin, because here is where the children of Hermes stay. Are you familiar with Greek myths?"
"Yeah, sort of. My dad told me that stuff.I just want to know why I have to stay here...." Azarious paused. "Why is this a safe haven? What does it protect you from?"
Lana jittered from foot to foot restlessly. "Well, you know when you entered camp, back there?" She pointed toward Half Blood Hill. "That hill's called Half-Blood Hill. Did you see the pine tree?"
"Yes...." Azarious didn't see where Lana was going with this. "What about it?"
"Yeah, see, there's a long story behind the pine tree. Long story short, a demigod like us, a daughter of Zeus named Thalia, was being chased by monsters. She sacrificed herself to get her friends to safety. The monsters were about to reach her and kill her when Zeus took pity on her and turned her into a pine tree."
"So....what does that have to do with the camp being a 'safe haven'?" Azarious was skeptic of this camp, but she knew that something was going on with her, whether it be Greek gods or not.
"Wait, not done. So....now Thalia's back. She joined the Hunters of Artemis, but the pine tree still lives on and it protects the camp. No monsters can cross the boundaries."
"Monsters?!" Azarious is immediately alarmed. "Isn't that little kid stuff?"
Lana's mouth twitched in a wry smile. "Yeah that's what we all thought. You learn fast. In our lives, monsters are very real."
((okay. Bye, Bye))
"Just monsters?" Azarious's voice dropped to a whisper and she looked around to make sure she wasn't over heard. "What about...ghosts?"
"Just monsters?" Azarious's voice dropped to a whisper and she looked around to make sure she wasn't over heard. "What about...ghosts?"
((back! XD))
Lana leaned forward. "Well. Spirits in the Underworld do exist. Just ask the Hades kids."
Lana leaned forward. "Well. Spirits in the Underworld do exist. Just ask the Hades kids."
"Oh...None other than the underworld..." Azarious was disappointed. "Well, tell me how things work around here. You said this was the Hermes cabin...do they have a cabin for every God?"
Well, she's acceptin it fast, Lana thought. Aloud she said, "Well yes, mostly. You see, here's where you stay for the time being becuase Hermes is the god of travelers. Until you get claimed by your godly parent, this is your home."
"But I already know my godly parent." Azarious wondered if that was the smart thing to do, spill all her secrets. "Poseidon....He told me himself."
Lana smiled. "Well that makes things easier for you. Poseidon, huh? You must be pretty powerful. Sometime you'll have to show me what you can do." She walked around Azarious and to the door. "Sorry for that mix-up, guess you won't be staying here. You'll be in Poseidon cabin."
Azarious stared at Lana for a moment. "This can't be happening," she mumbled to herself, just quiet enough so Lana wouldn't hear. She followed Lana out the door.
((guess we're moving to Poseidon?))
((guess we're moving to Poseidon?))
((Yup. Continued in Poseidon Cabin))
Chiron waved Alexandria in. "Right here, this is the Hermes Cabin. I'm sorry about the mess. Those Hermes kids aren't the neatest."
"Then you'll fit right in, I guess," Chiron joked. "I expect it's this 'neat' because Lana's head and she's a bit less of a slob."
Chiron pointed to the corner. "Sorry, but Hermes cabin is pretty cramped. You'll have that corner over there."
"Mmm." She nodded, and as she walked past the bathroom the sink sputtered and began to drip in a steady pattern.
Chiron winced. "Yeah, like I said, those kids aren't the neatest, even Lana."
Yuki walked in, thinking about the past few days. When she saw unfamiliar faces, she stammered, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was Khione cabin..."
Chiron smiled at her. "It's alright, my dear. This is Alexandria, our new camper."
Chiron said, "Alexandria, this is Yuki, daughter of Khione."
Alexandria nodded. "It's pretty interesting," she said glancing at Chiron. "I'm really interested in learning more about the gods, now that I know they're real." The sink began to drip faster.
Yuki tilted her head. "Yes, there's a class on that. It's really cool. I could lend you a book i have."
Chiron looked at Yuki. "Can you show her whatever she needs?" He backed out.
Yuki nodded. "Dripping? What?" She shrugged. "It's always there. Come on, I'll show you some other cabins."
Chiron looked at the faucet thoughtfully, then turned and left the cabin.
Gavin looked into the cabin. He came in and sat on his bunk.
