Thanks for joining, Martha:)
I guess I should introduce myself as well.
I'm Hannah and I read. And I'm the mod, so if you have any suggestions for books you want the group to read, you can send them to me.
Or vote on the poll. Either way, it works:D

Hey Tana:D You're lucky; I don't have a Kindle yet. Still stuck in the age of paperbacks and hardbacks. Imagine me lugging those around all the time!:)

message 16: by Kahlen (new)

Kahlen Aymes (kahlen_aymes) | 1 comments Hello, Everyone! Thank you to Martha for the invitation! I'm a reader and a writer. I like to read a variety of books, the only thing that I need is a story that grabs me!

I'm a writer of contemporary romance with erotic elements (so far). I am working on a outline for a paranormal, but I have about 5 other novels to get out first. My first novel, The Future of Our Past published in April and the second should be out very soon.

I look forward to exploring the threads on this group.

Thanks again for the add!

Kahlen

Sophia | 28 comments Hi, I'm Sophia. I really like to read and I really love music.

message 19: by Nancy (new)

Nancy S Hi. My name is Nancy. I'm retired, so I have more time than ever to read. I'm currently into women's fiction, but I really love to read anything, even cereal boxes, if there's nothing else around.

My favorite author right now is Elizabeth Berg. Not great literature, but fun, entertaining novels.

message 21: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 1 comments Hi! My name is Courtney & I'm just getting back into reading. I would rather have my kids see me with a book than on the computer. I'm currently into books based in the Southern States. Books that have a little of that old Southern history & traditions. But my taste varies.

message 22: by Christina (new)

Christina | 1 comments Hello! My name is Christina. I love to read anything I get my hands on!

message 23: by Jess (new)

Jess Berry (a-mazon) | 1 comments Hey, I'm Jess! Reading anything as long as it's got a few good reviews. Always read the blurb :)

message 24: by amwp (new)

amwp Hey there, I'm Alicia! I've always been an avid reader, and even more so now that my husband is deployed. My favorite go-to is fantasy fiction, but I'll read anything. :)

message 25: by Kate (new)

Kate Dixon Hi there! My name is Kate and I'm a huge reader (obviously)! Always looking for recommends!

message 26: by Arran (new)

Arran | 4 comments hi I'm Arran, from the UK. I'll read pretty much anything except erotica, its just not to my taste, and will happily turn off the tv for the evening and sit in silence. Not so easy with four kids, 3 with ADHD, and a plethora of beasts to look after and entertain. I'll accept recommendations for books as i tend to go through them quite quickly and i may eventually get of my backside and write. just as soon as i finish my book list and feed the dog :P

By profession I'm an engineer and by choice a slacker other than that if you want to know anything else just ask. Oh and I'm a huge proponent of ereaders.

Hi everyone, I was looking to join a group and saw Book Junkies! Perfect, I love the name and like to think I am addicted to reading. If I don't have a book on the go my life feels not as good. So, I read all the time. I do have a wonderful family who seeps up a ton of energy (and gives me tons of love) but going to bed and reading is a peaceful end to a day. Thanks for having me.

message 28: by Jodie (new)

Jodie | 2 comments Everyone wants recommendations so I thought I'd pass this onto all. I just finished a book called "The Magicians Assistant". It was different from everything else I've read - the author had this way of putting me in a trance while reading it. Enjoy and I'd like to know what you think.

message 29: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Slan (joannacampbellslan) | 4 comments Hi, everyone, since I've been known to read every word on the back of a cereal box, this is probably the right place for me. I'll try to keep up, but I'm in the midst of writing my sixth book in a mystery series, so this is my dessert--and I'm sort of on a diet!

message 31: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1 comments Hi, I'm Jenni, just found this site through FB. Still navigating all the links and information provided here. But I love to read almost everything, never got too much into Westerns, Erotica, or Sci-Fi, but am open to it if they are highly recommended. And hope that Goodbooks will be a source of genuine insightful recommendations. Thanks so much and hi everybody!

message 34: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 2 comments Hello all, I'm Sheila. I loved the group name and I am for certain a "book junkie" love them on my kindle, from the library, yard sale find, whatever. As many of you have already said, "I'll even read the cereal box". Just feel like waiting anywhere without a book to read is a waste of time. Read just about anything and I'm hoping to share and get some good leads from the group.

message 35: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 31 comments hi im lacey. I am certainly a book junkie, i will read anything. I dont have a favourite genre or author. At the moment im recovering from a knee op so i have lots of spare time on my hands and have spent about 80% of my time reading.

message 36: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Slan (joannacampbellslan) | 4 comments Oh, I probably should have told all of you what I write. First, there's the Kiki Lowenstein Mystery Series, about a young, single mom in St. Louis who is a scrapbooker by choice and an amateur sleuth by force. (I, the author, force her into that!) Next is my new series, which will debut August 7, called The Jane Eyre Chronicles, and the first book in that is called DEATH OF A SCHOOLGIRL. It;s set in 1820 and features Jane Eyre as an amateur sleuth. I also write a third series under an assumed name.

message 43: by Fabio (new)

Fabio Puzzacacca (puzzacacca) | 2 comments Hi im' Fabio from Genova, Italy. Music and litterature are my whole life, and i need them just because, otherwise, i'd become totally crazy. I live art like musician and writer but i don't think i'm that good...i love classics and novels from beat-generation, and i absolutely love Poetry. I also aprecciate spiritual essays and books about Yoga and misticism. I joined this group cause i hate to "categorize" books and i prefer to live them like a only thing, whitout great distinctions.

Sorry if i made mistakes but i'm not English ^-^

I look forward to reading the books chosen.

Tim whitlow (whereswhitlow) | 2 comments hello all, I am tim and have just spent the last 3 or 4 hours going through books and adding them to my shelves... goodreads is slightly addicting.

message 49: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (koalateabooks) Hi guys! I'm Teresa and I'm 18, currently a student at uni in Australia! And it was the word "eclectic" that got me to join! Mainly because when people ask me what type of books or music I read and listen, my answer is usually "...really anything that catches my fancy." There's no specific genre I read/listen. If the music can get me dancing and singing along, and the book can get me daydreaming and falling into the story, that's all I need.

Music and books are my life. Can't have one without the other, but I'm also an amateur writer and a librarian-to-be, though I've still got a couple of years in the course before I graduate and can officially become one!

message 50: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Slan (joannacampbellslan) | 4 comments Martha, I hope you do! I'm really excited about the Jane Eyre book. I always loved Jane Eyre.
