Yeah, I got lucky with that one. I like to use old Lomo and Holga cameras at home, which are pretty random - you never know what you're going to get. The Hipstamatic app is similar - you just shake the camera and it randomises the settings before you take the shot.
Yeah. It mimics different films, camera types and lenses - none of which I understand. But the shuffle function is fun. :)

It has been awhile since anyone posted anything in this thread so I thought I'll take the liberty to post another photo!
This was taken in Emeishan, China (2009).
I took this a few years ago on Thursday Island, in the Torres Strait. the colours up there really are so bright!
I'm an appalling photographer, so I won't be contributing, but if we get a few more on this thread, could we use them to make a "collage" of images for the group header? These are so good - I'm so envious!Just a thought.

I can tell it was a beautiful sunny day too! The colors are lovely!

I've been wanting to visit Laos for so many years. Sliced mangoes and ice-coffee for breakfast there in the mountains feels so right..

That's so interesting! Where in Thailand were you at? The Chinese border, Boten, is it? Man, the bike journey must have been exhilarating. Envy! I believe from I am only 4-5 hours away from Laos, I have to make it happen!

I have traveled to Thailand overland from Singapore; passing Hatyai, Phuket, Suratthani, Koh Samui, and ending in Bangkok. Definitely cheaper, yes. Ubon is northeast Thailand right? Thanks for the idea, I will look into it and hopefully in months to come, post a picture of Nong Khiaw in this thread too!

It was a gorgeous (and very hot) day, just the way I like them. :)
As I recall it was a lucky thing too - It was the big "Island of Origin" rugby tournament, and hundreds of people had been arriving by dinghy all that week. Being close to wet season, and there being rough seas, there were a lot of people worried they were going to get capsized!

Great shot."
Thanks! I think there's always something a little creepy about a circus when there's nobody there. Brrr.

Okay, everyone is posting travel photos but I'm going to do something completely different. Here's a shot of a few of my favorite costumes backstage at Broadway Bares this year. (FYI-- the Bares website might be considered NSFW, depending on how conservative your workplace is.) These are from the Pinocchio number!
So pretty! I don't love winter, but beautiful winter pictures always make me want to change my mind...

I wish I'd known that when I lived in Canberra!

Here's one of my favourite photos. I took it on my iPhone on the way back from a work meeting. I stumbled across a travelling circus that had recently been set up, deserted during the daytime. I think I used the Hipstamatic app. That sounds like something I'd do ;P
