I was treating myself to a few books yesterday at Target and came across THIS book! Snooki 'wrote' a book, people. I was mortified. Should we nominate this as a group read? lol

Do you really think she wrote it? Ive never seen Jersey Shores but I've seen enough of Snooki to doubt her inability to do anything with a book other than color it with crayons. It seems like ghost writer sold their stuff to let Snooki claim literacy.
Ok, who is Snooki? I was thinking at first that it was the Snooki from the vampire series, but I'm guessing not...
Books are a big source of revenue for celebrities who want more ways to cash in on their fame. There are TONS of books by celebrities. They are all ghost written.http://www.amazon.com/Books-by-Celebrities/lm/P74KFKCL6GFG
I happen to remember watching one episode of Kendra Wilkinson's reality show and she openly met with her ghost writer on the show about the book that she was 'writing'. I didn't follow that TV series, but I liked her honesty -- that she was willing reveal the fact that she didn't write her own book.

Thats interesting, Viola, and explains a lot. I can't imagine than they can write anything of substance. But I mean, really, she thinks her life is SO intriguing to the world that a book must be written about HER? I was mortified.
Have you all seen that poster on Pinterest that is a book falling off a book shelf and it says, "Every time you watch Jersey Shore, a book commits suicide." ? Here's a link to the picture. http://pinterest.com/pin/254312710178...
that's funny Mary. I wouldnt consider reading this book and I don't watch reality TV.. It's just not entertaining to me.
I never watched reality TV before, I just got the clips off "The Soup." lol. But I will admit that I have been watching the new one on National Geographic called "Amish: Out of Order." It's fascinating and I wouldn't put it in a category with "Jersey Shore" since it doesn't kill your brain cells to watch it and the producer really gets into the guts of these people and explores their mixed feelings about leaving the Amish. It's an excellent series; you won't find any of the characters punching each other or getting drunk and puking on each other or having explicit sex. haha.
Seriously NOT! Well first, I don't read non-fiction. But second, I doubt there is anything I could learn from reading that.

I saw the book in Target too. Makes me so sick that someone can do the things she does and gain that kind of popularity and so easily get her name on a hardcover......one she didn't even write.
I have trouble believing anyone reads it. I don't know anybody personally who's a big Jersey Shore fan--and certainly no one who would bother to pay for the book. But who knows...
I'm actually a little torn. I mean, on one hand, you really hate to discourage a person from writing her story ... on the other hand, I have heard that there are authors who are writing more than soft fluffy porn and having a hard time being published. It doesn't seem fair to them. But someone must have thought they could make money on a Snooki "autobiography."
