Genevieve walked by the grass, feeling the wind mess her hair but she didn't care.
Her father walked through the barn after slaughtering pigs. He cleaned his hands off when Robert saw his youngest daughter. He smiled at his tiny little girl.
He smiled at his little girl. "Baby Gene. How pretty you are." He grinned and scruffed up her hair.
"You know I'm already fourteen, but I can't argue that I am pretty," Genevieve laughed.
"I won't tell, but it's certainly delicious!"
"Papa, have you seen any of the Leafings lately?"
"It sure wouldn't. Where are the horses? I sure like to ride Tempest now,"
"Oh, Ye brother is cleaning 'em. For election day. Make 'em all purdy when they draw the carriage in." He grinned slightly.
Genevieve smiled and looked at the clouds.
"Pa, can I go to the Lake?" asked Genevieve.

"Aye," Genevieve walked happily and waved goodbye.
