Muggles on Magic discussion

This role play is set in the Greaght Hall. If you would like to make a new one, please state its location.

Leo Stood outside the greaght hall with the other first years. Wating to gain entrance into the greaght hall, led in by professor Magonigal, to be placed in his own house. As he wated, somone taped him on the shoulder.

Alex stood patiently behind John. She tapped him on the shoulder softly, "Excuse me, but I was wondering what house you hope to be in?"

when Leo turned around to see who had tapped his shoulder so lightly to gain his atention, he found a girl. She had brown hair that was medium length with bangs and a slight wave, brilliant green eyes, freckles, and relitively thin for our age. Leo was awe struck by this girl, he herd her voice but was too captivated to remeber what she said. he knew he would look like a fool if he did not say eneything, so he said, "hello" with a nervious voice. then, with quick confidence said, "how are you? my name is Leonado Phenix Lagdameo, what is your name?"

Alex laughed softly, "Hello, I am Alex Wilde."

Leo felt a bit imbarsed by Alex's laugh, "is something wrong with my name" he asked in the most inocent way that he could. but he could tell that for the first time, someone, she, saw right threw him.

one of Leo's many unusual talents is the ability to read people. he typicaly does not do this unles he realy wants because it takes efort and people do not like it when you know more about them then they do. but Alex was not answering quick enouph and he wanted to know what she had firs said to relive aquwardness. so he closed his eyes quickly and when they opened they were a piercing white, he could see everything about everone around him. he saw the spite in the table nearist the wall on the left and the wisdom from the teachers table. he senced a nervious girl, she was a prefect, he could tell, she was more nerviouse than aneyone else. this was because she was to lead and be head of ravenclaw as prifect and have all the first years look up to her. it was a job she felt not suited for but he knew she was by her strong will and moral rolemodel and the trust felt by the headmater and hed of ravenclaw tower who had chosen her along with a messy haired boy to her left. but what he want most was to read Alex, but... he could not. she gave of a glow of pure power. like his but no where near as strong. it blocked his ability to see into her. to read her. he focused harder, nothing. so he gave up and said "you look like you might be in ravenclaw tower tonight after you get sorted" and he hoped for the best. what if she wanted griffendore or huffelpuf. if he knew one thig it was tha her ora was definitly a match to the ravenclaw table, but also, to all the others.

Lillian stood quietly to the side, looking at all the people around her nervously. She knew she should be happy..She was finally at Hogwarts! She could learn how to control her magic! but all she felt was dread. What if she was alone the whole year? What if the classes were too hard? She pulled at her long blonde hair absentmindedly. She then decided to look some more at the fellow first years near her. A couple boys returned her stares and she looked down. She wasn't necessarily afraid, more apprehansive; she didn't want a bad first impression on anybody. Nearby another girl with darting green eyes was talking to a tall boy with..? White eyes!? lilly blinked and hie eyes were a darker shade again..She looked away, not wanting to be rude, she got grief about her eyes being a silver and didn't want to make anyone else feel bad. She backed up and accidentally bumped into another, very nervous, girl whose sister looked on from the Ravenclaw table.
"Oh, sorry!" she apologised, causing a couple people to look over at the scene.

Alex grinned, "No, not at all! You just seemed a bit nervous and confused... I am sorry that I laughed, I didn't mean to insult you or anything!" she said apologetically. Looking at his shining eyes, she frowned, "Your eyes are... magnificent. And how did you know that? I sure hope it's true; I've heard all about Ravenclaw, and I hope that it's the house for me!" she said, smiling.

Lillian stood there, wishing to be back at home again...she felt like such a baby; she had to straighten up right now!! 'Dang it Lilly! You Will Never Make Friends If You Don't Talk To Anyone!!' She began to make her wa to te boy and girl talking, she hoped she wasn't interrupting them.. maybe they could be her friends..? she thought hopefully.

Monica turned around as she heard the sound of laughter. Just some fifth-years chatting and messing around. She had more important things to do, after all she was organising a debate club this year as well as helping the professors decorate the great hall for the Halloween feast. Monica sighed. She glanced around, her eyes finally resting on an obviously uncomfortable girl to the side who had enviously long blond hair. Monica raked her hands through her own long brunette hair, and sighed. I probably shouldn't stare, she thought. Making her way back to the Ravenclaw table to her friends she noticed a guy with green eyes. Interesting, she thought with a smile.

"I um...." Leo could not tell Alex the truth, though he wanted to so, so insted he told her half of the truth. "I can read people. You know, like, body language and what not" Alex was obviously unconvinced. Leo was relived to not have to continue further when a girl about his hight with long blindish hair and wonderful silver eyes, that seemed to shimer. Alex asked befor the girl could even begin to speak "then read her Leo!" he sighed and without even having to change eyes used the science of deduction and red her "you are young four your age. Judging by your quick glances and feet ready to jump or prounce your animegus is a cat of some form. You were not born with those eyes, something happened that changed them. From your stif back and eager posture we can conclude that you wish to be placed in Griffendore tower and by your shy complexion you know no one and seek friends. I humbly ablidge. This is Alex, and I am Leo. Friends?" oh god! He had done it again. She was giving him "that look" that he had just told everything on her minde in a few skips of the heart beat. It was not only her that was staring at him, it was now also Alex and a few 3rd years at the table next to him. Oh how he hoped he had not imbarrased the girl too much

Monica sat down swiftly in her seat at the sound of the old headmaster's voice.

" Um, yeah; that's right..!" Lillian didnt expect this to be the first thing said to her by the tall boy at all, but it WAS so much better than standing awkwardly to the side. " Sure! I'd really like to be friends with you!" she turned to the other girl. " and hopefully you as well!" she paused.
" what are your names?"

Alex smiled at Leo, "That was wonderful!"

"Yes! It was--" Lilly cut off for she realized the headmaster was beginning so speak.

Alex nodded, "Indeed." she said quietly.

Alex was quivering with excitement. Oh, I hope it's Ravenclaw! she thought excitedly.

Lilly squeezed her hands as she listened to the song, hearing nothing over her own thoughts: wild, nervous, swirling. She had wanted Gryffindor, but what about get friends? At this point, she thought, I kinda just want this to be over and calm.

As Leo listened to the hat's song he could sense Lilly's nervousness. He reached for her hand. when he grabbed it, it was warm and soft, "mortal" he muttered to himself. he felt her power pulls threw her like a heart beat. Leo leaned over and whispered into here ear, "do not worry about friends and houses. it will all work out. i do not care if you are in slytherin, we will be friends. calm yourself. it will be fine." he gave a small smile to hopefully assure her of his honesty.

Lilly's heart, though temporaily calmed by Leo's soft words, skipped a beat. "J" her last name was a J. And a "Ja" at that. "Jac" even..! Her brain was racing; she knew her name would be next. Why couldn't this be over?! She HAD to go up at the sound of her impending name. What if she didn't? What if she tripped or..-!
The girl struggled to keep a steady breathing pace. She held onto Leo's hand and tried to stay calm---waiting for the seconds that felt like an eternity until she heard it. "Lillian Jacobs!"

Monica startled as the Hat called out the shy blonde girl's name. She wistfully wondered if she would belong to Ravenclaw. The hat disappointed though, shouting out Griffindor. The girl who had been patiently shrinking as the Hat went on her, jumped up in shock. Monica watched her go back looking nervously at a tall guy. She sighed, at her sorting she didn't know anyone. It was only later when we realised she had to upp her social status. Now she was comfortable in her network of friends, that girl really did not have to care about the first boy she saw when stepping into this place. She sighed again, it was none of her business nor could she help getting bored at every "big" event in the great hall.

As soon as the sorting hat had yelled her new house, Lilly jumped and almost all of the worry lifted off her shoulders. She smiled as the hat lifted off her honey blonde hair. During its stay on her head, every second of contemplation for each of the houses seemed to go on forever. She began to make her way back; trying to catch Leo's gaze. She wondered which house he would be sorted into.

leo gave lilly the thumbs up as she sat at the griffendore table, though he was not so certain that she saw. names and names went by till finaly, aftar what seemed an endless amount of time. professor called out Leo's name "Leonardo Lagdameo Phinix" he straitened his back, and walked with all the confedence he could finde. he sat on the stool and the hat was placed on his head. he emidiatly felt its presence, not phisicaly but its power. he could feal the hat looking threw his life and mide and sole as to what house he would be placed in. he thought to himself "theres a lot of life for you to serch" and as he expected the hat replied "yes, and a sole that touches all dimensions". leo was not certain if the hat had said it aloud or if he just said it in his head. oh gods how he wished this wouldent take as long as he thught. he knew the hat would take a long time on him but not this long. he could feal the hat looking at what parts of him belonged where and he knew that the hat was looking into each of his futures to see which would be best.

Lilly watched as the hat sat quietly ruminating on Leo's head. It seemed to be taking quite a while to decide: 'that must mean he has a lot of good qualities' the new Gryffindor caught herself thinking. She secretly hoped he would be in Gryffindor like her, but knew better than to assume, especially about a person who seemed this special. She then remembered his assurance and ultimate kindness: Whichever house leo's placed in, Lilly thought, will be very lucky to have him.

When the hat yelled RAVENCLAW, her heart had sank a little; but a smile took its place. She knew Leo had wanted that house, and knew it would be the best place for him.

Leo did not know what to feel. he knew that friendships can be made any where but he had to stay Lilly's friend. he knew in his heart that he wanted ravenclaw. but he also knew that he belonged in all of the others just as equally. he took his seat after the daze of the hat leaving his head. "thank you, Abbie" he said. it felt right, sitting there. he felt at home, in a place where he belonged, a place he could call home. he waved to Lilly across the room and smiled. signaling to talk later.

Lilly noticed Leo's subtle wave at her from across the hall; her doubts faded away. She knew they would be friends, nomatter which house they were each in. She looked around the table, at all the other Gryffindors, and felt really warm and happy inside. With a smile, Lilly watched as more and more kids were sorted.

Monica glanced at the tall guy who was making his way to the Ravenclaw table and was introduced to Abbie; a prefect who was two years older than her. Monica frowned at herself, no one likes starers. She could not help that she was observant, and a little sceptic, those were the qualities which got her into Ravenclaw. She turned her head back to the sorting hat as she thought she saw Abbie notice her noticing. Monica fidgeted with her robe, she was good at noticing.

Lilly, knowing she had to wait to talk to Leo, was whisked from her thoughts by a boy, by the name of Daniel introducing her to more Gryffindors around the table. She began to smile, and for the second time since her arrival; felt right at home. This time, with the new boy and her other classmates.

"um..." Leo did not expect this question. He had only taken a spit second to see if he could trust her and she saw! "in a sort of way, yes." he said. Then turned back to the sorting. Trying his hardest not to be rude. But also saying that his life was a secret.
He was overly focusing on the sorting when Magonagal then said another name, that Leo failed to hear, and a short few seconds later the girl with brown hair and vibrent green eyes that he had been talking to, Alex, came skiping towerd them, taking a seet next to Leo.

Lilly, so enthralled with the new people and the excitement of the sorting had forgotten to eat until the boy named Daniel had reminded her. She began to flip out a little on the inside--everything just looked so delicious--! She didn't know what to begin with!

Lilly glanced down and saw the older boy was right. Blushing slightly she wiped her mouth-embaressed-.
"so..!" she began, "How do you like Hogwarts? are the classes fun? are the people in Gryffindor nice? "
As she spoke, the table filled up with many sweets for dessert and her silvery eyes took it all in with awe.

Lilly nodded. They seemed like the type you wouldn't want to cross.

"no, I am sorry. I...I am just not....I did not...I thout this would be a new beginning. That's all" oh how he hoped this might make amends. "I think charms and transfigurations will be quite facinating!" oh god! That dident help his caus at all! So he quick said "ancient ruins and herboligy look fasinating also. I have had a fascination with plants since I was a ... Younger" herod Actualy like those so maby it would work.

But befor the girl could answer. Professor dumbledore dismissed the first years to be shown to there dorms by the prifects.

"that's cool! maby we can help each other" Leo suggested. But befor she could answer, they were ushered out of the great hall.
