How do you find names for your characters. Is a name an important piece of them?

um, sometimes it's important, most of the time i just use the name that first came off the top of my head, though if it does mean something, i type the meaning into a baby name website and find a name that i like with that meaning.
I just ugh, name it after HP stars and charries so it's easy. Yes, it is important because it may mark something symbolic. -_-
Well children... it's sort of like this:Once upon a time people believed that a name was something God gave to you. Then came the silly superstition that mothers and fathers was responsible. Now educated people know that only the most righteous and guided names are from storks carrying them in tiny little bags made of cloth.
Seriously though, most of my characters' names are the children of my mind.
(You see how I used that imagery?)
I use the universal name of Matt Sorenson.
i try to make my characters name fit their personalities
ex: Fira for a girl with red hair, red eyes, and a fiery temper

I just think up unusual names for the characters I come up with. :)
i use russian names mostly because tough i think its funny but important non the less, such as the nickname for Aleksander is sasha, and you can name our boy nikita
