NAME: Muse's Inspire, but Muse is the name I generally go by on the 'net
AGE: 36. But I have learned that it doesn't mean I know any better.
LOCATION: Virginia, USA
GROUP FUNCTION: Tech Support & Group Moderator
SECTIONS MODERATING: Book of the Month and it's counter-part, Book of the Month (Nominations)

MISC INFORMATION

OCCUPATION: IT Ops Support Administrator AKA Geekdom Alert!

INTERESTS: Reading, reading, reading!! I read it all... books, magazines, fanfiction (yes, what of it?!). I also write fanfiction! - wanna take it outside? I'm cool like that! I also dabble in graphic art and web design... I'm a long ways from being an expert at it, but I enjoy it and it's how I destress. I also love, love, love movies and my husband I bought a larger (AKA AWESOME!) TV just to feed my addiction. LOL

FAVORITE GENRES: Sci-Fi, some Fantasy/Paranormal, Romance (depends on the author) and some Horror/Thrillers. I'm surprised to say that I have found myself reading 'Young Adult' series' lately and really enjoying myself. When I was a 'Young Adult', the fiction was vastly different (Are You There, God? etc...) and therefore I heavily avoided reading anything of the genre that fell under YA. Imagine my surprise when I found that they were actually pretty damn awesome?! LOL

FAVORITE AUTHORS: Jim Butcher, David Eddings, Dean Koontz, Robert Doherty/Bob Mayer, Sherilyn Kenyon, Katie McAllister, Simon R. Green, Patricia Briggs, Suzanne Collins... Those are my main ones, I have many more!

CURRENTLY READING: Nothing because I have the attention span of a gnat and nothing has currently captured my interest for longer than a microsecond. Such is the life of Muse.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I have four demon spawn kids that are 11, 10, 5 & 7 months. They make me nuts but I wouldn't trade them for anything! Although... lately, with my older two, I'm understanding why some species eat their young.

I'm sarcastic but I have (what I think anyways) a good sense of humor. I look forward to 'meeting' people who have similar interests so that I can 'geek out' with them! It's nice to be able to sit there and say, "OMG! - and then when XXXX turned around and did XXXX!! Awesome!" LOL

I'm heavily involved in the 'fandom' world and help moderator several groups and communities/boards.

I'm currently participating in an anthology project with several other GoodReads PRN members and it looks like it's going to be pretty amazing! I'm excited, had to share!LOL I could be biased on that one, though. ;-)

Anyways, glad to be here and I'm excited to have found this group and honored that I am able to be considered reliable enough to assist in the day-to-day running of it! I'll be sure to wow and amaze you all with my awesome skills of ADD and "SQUIRREL!!" posts. What can I say? *shrug* My life is an interesting place to live... LOL

NAME: My name is Rebecca Nolan

AGE: I am almost 30 but if anyone asks I tend to round up…(weird I know lol)

LOCATION: I live right now in Brisbane, Australia but my husband is in the military so we move heaps; about once every 3-4 years.

SECTIONS MODERATING: I am a little all over the place, I do interviews with Lisa and I try to think of cool challenges for the group as well as finding interesting topics to talk about. Honestly I couldn’t do half of it if it wasn’t for the other moderators! Also if you need me you can email me at rnolanwriter@hotmail.com

MISC INFORMATION

OCCUPATION: I have been blessed enough to make writing my living and I am currently an Author at Firefly and Wisp.

INTERESTS: I love to read and aim to smash out a book a day but during epic writing times that isn’t always possible. I love to write! I have 4 manuscripts on the go atm and since I began writing as a career I have completed 7 manuscripts. I get so excited about my writing that I send all my family nuts going on about it. For instance I am working on a paranormal serial killer WIP and I am just crazy about it. Think Dexter cross Anita Blake and that is what I feel I am working on hehe. Ok, enough about that…I also am an avid motocross fan and love fmx also. I am not crazy about TV and if watching a program I tend to fast forward all the boring parts, only one show has skipped the fast forward mode and that is True Blood.

FAVORITE GENRES: I love to read paranormal and Horror which is why I started the group lol. I also enjoy historical stories like Pillars of the Earth. Romance is ok but it has to have a good story line. I am not fond of chick lit like Danielle steele etc.

FAVORITE AUTHORS: Laurell k Hamilton, Rachelle Mead, Gena Showalter, Sara Bennett, Steven King, Dean Koontz, Richard Matheson, J R Ward, Christopher Pike and many more.

CURRENTLY READING: I am currently reading Kiss the Dead by Laurell k Hamilton :D

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I have three amazing kids and one pretty awesome hubby. I always aim to be honest where my writing is concerned. Sharing experiences can be good for the soul. It has taken me 10 years to figure out what I would like to do with my life and now I finally feel like I am on the right track.

The amazing people I have met over the last year and a half makes me feel blessed and understand just how lucky I am. This is like living a dream sometimes. My first full length novel will be coming out near the end of this year and that is just crazy exciting, lol.

Ok, I believe in Ghost! Yep, I do and I hate going into haunted places (freaks me out). I have some really weird quirks like I hate wearing enclosed shoes but give me a pair of boots and I am in heaven. I must eat colored candy in order of color starting with the color there is most of. In shopping centers and other high building I can’t walk near railings in case I fall over them…yet put me in plane and I can jump out…yep, as I said I have crazy quirks haha…please keep teasing to a minimum :P.

I am always up of a chat though sometimes my computer plays up and I miss things…so if you have message me please let me know if I haven’t replied to something. Also I have quiet times where I need to work on getting my writing finished, so if I am missing don’t worry I will be back hehe :D

NAME: Lisa Goldman

AGE: Geez, do I have to post that here? Okay, I’m the old fogy of the group so far at 41.

LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA USA

SECTIONS MODERATING I’ve taken over the Read 2 Review. Also I do Author Interviews with Rebecca but really, I keep my eyes open to all the areas.

MISC INFORMATION

OCCUPATION: Although I had been a high school mathematics teacher, I now stay at home with my children and write paranormal, urban fantasy, and science fiction short stories and full length novels.

INTERESTS: I love to read and write. Plain and simple. I’d gotten into watching TV to wind down in college and when my oldest two kids were younger but once my twins were born I thought the shows were boring so I picked up a book. I started with Oprah’s picks and ones my neighborhood book club chose. I then branched out into paranormal, Stephen King and Stephanie Meyer. A few years after reading book after book, I decided to write. In part it kept my mind active where conversations weren’t based at the simplest child level. Writing wasn’t as easy as I thought when I first started but I took classes, my style improved, and my love for writing grew. Now with two short stories published, two more set to be published this fall and two novels written I don’t think I’ll ever stop.

FAVORITE GENRE: My favorite genres are paranormal, fantasy, and science fiction for both YA and adult. I love action-packed, page-tuning novels and if it includes a romance or is historical fiction it’s an added bonus.

FAVORITE AUTHORS: Gosh, there are so many. Here’s a few but I may add to the list later: Rachelle Meade, J.K. Rowling, Suzanne Collins, Cassandra Clare, Rachel Caine, James Dashner, Rick Riordan.

CURRENTLY READING: I’m usually reading more than one book at a time. Currently, my list is Dark Lover by JR Ward, anthology Dark Light and anthology Morbid Seraphic, both published by Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly and I have a short story in.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

My four children as I mentioned above and my fabulous hubby are a big part of my life. In addition to reading and writing, I draw on life experiences both past and current. Part of that is living life to the fullest with my family. I feel lucky I can stay home to nurture my kids when they’re sick, volunteer in the classroom weekly, sometimes more and be there to share their ups and downs. My oldest daughter is both physically and mentally delayed, which has been challenging for everyone, yet we, as a family, still strive to do everyday things together. During the summer or school breaks, we go camping, to parks, the movies, play board games or video games and so much more. One of our favorite vacation spots is the beach.

That brings me to the next part. I love observing and meeting people. What better place than the beach especially one with a boardwalk that seems to draw different and interesting people. So if you every meet me, I’m not a gawking stalker, just an observer. And who knows you might have the characteristics of my next protagonist … or maybe my antagonist. LOL.

Since I started my author pages, my website and blog, and then joined as a moderator here in March, I’ve meet some fantastic people. I found this site to be particularly supportive to readers and authors, and I have added a dozen or so books to be read to my every growing list that people have recommended.

If anyone has questions, suggestions, or just wants to talk, don’t hesitate to drop me a line!:)

Chris (mbsnowman) BASIC INFORMATION

My Profile: Click here.

NAME: Chris Allinotte

AGE: 39 (for real.)

LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB, Canada

SECTIONS MODERATING: Book of the Month and some of the "Author Help" sections

OCCUPATION: I am a Marketing and Communications Specialist by day.

INTERESTS: Writing is a passion I've kept since childhood. The lazy procrastinator in me wins sometimes, but I always end up putting pen to notebook eventually - it's the only way I can feel "right".

I've always got at least two books on the go to read, at least one in audio in my car. I'm also a video-gamer (most favourite recent games: The Walking Dead by Telltale Games, and Mass Effect). Finally, I love horror movies and TV - the Walking Dead and American Horror Story are my two favourites right now.

FAVORITE GENRE: My favorite genres are horror and dark fantasy, as well as the more "grown up" superhero graphic novels (Think John Constantine: Hellblazer). I also actively try to read outside my comfort zone to broaden my mind as a reader and a writer - so historical fiction, biography, etc. (Bill Hicks' biography American The Bill Hicks Story by Matt Harlock is FANTASTIC)

FAVORITE AUTHORS: Way too many to do justice to, but the tops are Clive Barker, Stephen King, John Arjvide Lundqvist, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Algernon Blackwood, Richard Matheson and J.R.R. Tolkien.

CURRENTLY READING: Click my profile for that - I can't promise I'll be updating this entry.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I have published one book of my collected short stories: Gathering Darkness by Chris Allinotte , and four editions of a yearly anthology called "Days of Madness" Days of Madness 4 Hidden Horrors by Chris Allinotte which I look forward to every year. (Planning something special for Year 5).

Personally, I've got two great kids and an amazing wife and a pretty cool little writer's group here in the Great White North.

Welcome to the group, folks!
