Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments It was ok, just 3 stars. Didn't dislike it, but didn't overly like it. I got the book from the library with all three of the trilogy, but I won't be reading the other two. Fulfilled my requirement for the challenge though so nothing lost really. There are much worse books around so I'm not annoyed about it :-). I saw your review - you liked it even though it's not your usual book type. Whereas I like mystery books but this one just didn't do it for me.

message 32: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Janice, I enjoyed it but not quite as much as the first. Which is why I haven't rated it yet. It was really good but the cliffhanger at the end was just too predictable. But it fitted beautifully with the challenge and I knew it would be a quick read.

message 47: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments So it counts as war, Janice? Super stuff!

Judy, it's was ok. Some parts I liked more than others. I thought it slow to begin with and had a feeling I may be discarding it but it did get better but it wasn't a page-turner. Perhaps if so many points hadn't been on offer I may have shelved it for a while, but I don't regret it. Saying that I wouldn't be passing it as a recommendation to anyone. How about you?

message 48: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 61935 comments Sorry, I missed your question. Judy, would you say it counts for war??

message 49: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 61935 comments Hmmmm.... did that help me make a decision?

While war wasn't a major theme, I would say that it sounds like it was a minor theme. I will allow it.
