That's great. Most of my family's in Morocco. I wish more ppl would interact in this group, you know? And I wish people would make discussions, so I'm not the only one.

Where are you originally from? Like, where were your parents from?

Are you living in Somalia? We have a really large Somali community here in Minnesota. In fact I think it's the largest Somali community in the US.

I converted to Islam, both my parents are from Minnesota, USA. Their parents were from Minnesota, USA and from South Dakota, USA. Somewhere way back some of my great grandparents were Native Americans (Cherokee) and most were Norwegian, Irish, Scottish, and some various mixed European background but that's further back than I can trace. My family has been here many generations. :)

Oh wow, that's really interesting!! What made you want to covert? What religion were you before you converted?

My family is Christian (Lutheran Denomination to be specific) but I had converted to Paganism/Wicca. I was an interfaith Minister and I studied all sorts of religions as part of that function. I married an Egyptian Muslim and the more I read about Islam the more I felt it was right for me.
Oh, well, that's great!! I'm glad you accept the religion. It's nice to have another Muslim. It's interesting, because I've never met a convert before. If you don't mind me asking, do you follow and accept the religion?

Well, to the best of my ability. I'm certainly not a perfect Muslim and I know I've made plenty of mistakes but al-hamdulilla I keep learning and correcting and striving to please Allah {SWT}. Insha'Allah my iman will continue to increase and I will continue to imporve as a Muslim.
