Gijinkas
Chapter 1: Say What?
Trekka pushed herself up, groaning. That was the last time she tried to use Synthesis in the Stupid Room. "I should've listened." she muttered, rubbing her head. "Espelia told me that I'd get hurt if I tried to use my powers in here, but I thought she was just messing with me." Apparently, she wasn't. Trekka thought.
Her name wasn't very creative, but the man who'd made their species didn't care what they were called. "You're just my servants," she mocked, curling her lip. "You don't neeed names." She drew the 'e' in 'need' out, completing the mocking effect. Jerk.
"You shouldn't insult him, Trekka."
Trekka glanced a long way to her left and spotted Leafra, the Leafeon gijinka.
"He might hear you and get mad, and I don't like it when he gets mad." Leafra continued in her hushed voice. Trekka almost sighed until she realized how jerky that sounded. It sounded like she thought Leafra was stupid, which she wasn't. Instead, she tried to be sympathetic. "You know, he can't really hear us all the time--well, he kind of can, but just through security cameras. You don't have to be scared, that'll be my job if he comes." she grinned, yellow eyes opening. The slits had expanded to rounded pupils, peering through the darkness better than a human's. One of the perks of being a gijinka.
"Okay." Leafra mumbled.
Trekka laid on her stomach, satisfied. She couldn't go to sleep yet, but...why not relax on her bed while she was waiting? The space was small for a human, but she was small for one, too. She had some DNA of a 1-foot-tall Pokemon, after all.
-----------------------------------------------------
"Wake up! Wake up, Trekka, PLEASE! C'mon!"
"Wha...? What's goin' on?" Trekka raised her head slowly from her arms.
"The egg's hatching! The Eevee egg!" It was Flare's excited voice. Trekka shot up and looked over, squinting as the lights came on. Sure enough, the brown egg with the white zigzag stripe around the middle was shaking and beginning to hatch. It's my turn," she heard Espelia murmer, reaching for the egg. The eeveelutions' cages had been opened with the arrival of the egg. the egg was rather large for a Pokemon egg, since it wasn't a Pokemon egg--it was a gijinka egg!
Crack! Splat! The egg burst open, and a baby with a small fluff around her neck, eevee ears, and tail, came out with a piece of eggshell on her head and covered in yolk. "Female," Espelia announced, rubbing her off with towels as the baby gave her first cry. "It's kinda cute," Turtla, the Turtwig gijinka said.
"Yes, it is." Glacelia, the glaceon gijinka responded. "And, sorry, Espelia, but I'll be taking care of her this time. You can still help, but...yeah."
