I think it depends on the area, because, where I live it's a mix.
Because I'm English-Asian, I get a few racist comments, nothing too serious, and some people in our area, are pure racist, while others could be my mum's best friend, and it wouldn't matter whether I was African, Asian or European, we're all equal to them.
Speaking of racism, I got some racist comments today.
Well, I was walking home with my mum and bro, and this guy said summat racist about the colour of my skin (because I'm tan/brown)...It didn't hurt alot, I've had worse...someone once called me a 'Black Bag of S**t'
yes, so true! Neesh i would never say anything like that, maybe the exact opposite.. yeah..."Awesome box of Coolness!"
Yeah...I've learnt to deal with it, well...sort of...
Anyway, has anyone here received racist comments? Or what are your views on racism?
When I was little (like 3) my Mum said that our area used to be even more racist, and that we'd get racist comments/notes posted through the letter box, and we would get broken glass posted too.
I know, good thing I don't remember...
I know. But if I say anything back, I'm giving the racists want they want. I mean, I NEVER EVER will say anything racist back. I am and always will be 100% against racism.
I also witnessed a racist fight.
Not pretty, my mum sorted it out.
OK! Racism! Has anyone witnessed anything racist?
My friends always make racist comments as jokes. It really bugs me but I think that's because if I say what they say to them, it's seen as offensive cuz I'm white and I don't know what it's like to be a minority (even though I was in my old neighbourhood for my whole 14 years of existence)But I do hate it when one of my friends always refers to me a "white girl". I don't know if this is racist, but it still annoying cuz I have a name.
