Hi Michael, have you decided what your next project is? I hate to be selfish asking for more Hadrian and Royce if you want to do something different from Rirya ... but that's what happens when you make us love your characters! Oh the trials of success :)
Oh, and thanks for the short story, it was a nice change of pace. It's very American, I had no idea you were from the US (don't know why but I thought you were English!)
I read this. It was quite good.

I've submitted two books in a series to them, they have made me a good offer and we are just hammering out the details. Until the ink is dry though I don't want to say too much about that.
In addition to those two books I have two other books that I also want to publish. (They have not seen these yet and one I'm actually still writing at the moment).
Timing of which project hits the street first depends on many factors. If my publisher and I sign, then those two books are probably about a year away from release, and I'd like to get something out earlier than that so I might self-publish (as I can do a quick turn around time) but...the publisher wants to be able to read/make an offer before I do this...so that could slow down the process as well.
What I will say is that I have both Riyria stories and non-Riyria stories in those 4 books. What I don't know yet is whether they will be put out by Orbit or myself, and what are the release dates.
Both my agent and publisher are on vacation right now so nothing is happening, but I'm hoping to get these final points nailed down soon, so I can start letting all the cats from their bags.

HE WANTED TO ESCAPE HIS PROBLEMS. HE WANTED TO SEE THE FUTURE.
HE NEVER CONSIDERED WHAT THE FUTURE WANTED.
Confronted with suffering a painful death from cancer, Dan Sturges, a retired Ford’s engineer, foregoes treatments to try an idea of his own. After reading a theoretical article in Scientific American on time displacement, Dan builds a time machine in his garage. With nothing to lose but a few months of pain, Dan pins his hopes on a future where cancer might have been cured, or at least a quicker death by electrocution. How could he have known that what happens after he presses the button is more shocking than the eighteen car batteries he connected himself to?
Greener Grass is just $1.57 and can be bought at: Amazon or Barnes and Noble , but to be honest, I don't care about the money (Riyria pays the bills) so I'll send a free copy to anyone who is interested in reading it. Just email me at michael.sullivan.dc@gmail.com and let me know the file format you would prefer, or send me a message with your email here on goodreads.
Oh, and if you do read it, please consider answering this one question poll, as this is a new style for me and I'm interested in hearing what people think.
