Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking
We will begin our first goodreads book discussion with Amanda Hocking's novel Switched. This is book one in the Tyrlle series.

Start leaving your first impressions of the book when you are ready.

Jody | 46 comments I liked that Hocking tried to make trolls cool. There really hasn't been many books focusing on trolls.

Jody | 46 comments Great opening. I just wish Hocking would have kept her tale as dark as her intro.

How does the idea of family impact Wendy's decisions?

message 6: by Jody (new)

Jody | 46 comments Wendy is definitely searching for family. Her foster mother destroyed any sense of a loving home when she was six and due to this she has struggled to be a member of the family with Matt and Maggie. (Of course the whole troll thing makes things challenging as well.) She decides to leave with Finn partially because she thinks that her "real" mother will solve all of her family issues, which doesn't happen. The thing that bother me the most was that when she did leave it seemed like she didn't even care about Matt and Maggie. Yes she left to protect them, but it seemed out of sight out of mind-until the attack. Now I am willing to believe that in the end she is realizes that her true family is with Matt and Maggie and not the troll community, but it also seemed like she could just be using them as a safe haven.

How would you describe Finn and Wendy's relationship? Do you see the two of them ever being able to function as a couple?

Did you like the book? Were the characters well developed? Was the story compelling to read and well written?

I loved it. I bought the paperback version and read it within 3 days.

Happy reading,
