Nicole (cookiegurl) OK, many Christians (or people who say they are), like to cuss and stuff. That isn't OK, right? Please express your opinion HERE.

message 3: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) Yeah, well tell that to some people.

Unfortunately. My friends do like once in awhile on accident and i get mad at them but it doesnt really help..

message 5: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) True... But really, it's everywhere around you... At school, an accidental word in a song... IDK... It's pretty easy to slip up.

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Thats true. Way too much swearing at school but we live in an ungodly world we cant let it affect us. Self control.

message 7: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) so i cant say, holy crap or what the heck? is that bad words?

message 8: by Carolyn, My Excellent and Friendly and Thoughtful Mod (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Oh hi lena. Well is it something jesus would say? Just look at it from there. But i was just thinking of stuff like omg in general. Get on email!

message 9: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) I AM ON EMAIL. oops. im invisible

message 10: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) It's better not to say ANYTHING "holy" like holy crap, holy bejeezus and so forth because only our God is holy

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Someone pointed something out to me a long time ago - it's not really the swear word, it's the intent behind it. Some people say things like "fudge" or other replacements for swear words, but really, the intent is the same. -Sam

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Lena wrote: "so i cant say, holy crap or what the heck? is that bad words?"

Depends who you ask. But really, you can be saying something else the real intent is still to swear at whatever happened. Check your motives before you say things - if it isn't for a godly reason, there really is no reason to say it - especially if it's just to put down a bad situation or other situations where swear words are used.

message 13: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) Exactly. But even some "bad" words can be used to certain extent - "Haha, that's so stupid" or something. People say that even STUPID is a bad words, but sometimes if the word itself isn't bad and you don't use it for bad reasons, but to explain yourself, it's OK

message 14: by allycatblue (new)

allycatblue *percy jackson is my husband i really think it depends on how the person uses it if they hurt themselfs and swear then i think that is fine but if they call someone a b or somthing then its bad

message 15: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) So if you hurt yourself you can start saying the f word? o.o

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Saying a swear word isn't gonna help ease the pain...

message 17: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) EXACTLY! It's actually prob gonna make it worse LOL

message 18: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) actually i think, (call me a devil later) that swear words elaborate your feelings. i mean, i don't say it though.

message 19: by Genna (new)

Genna (genna22) | 6 comments My friends swear all the time

message 20: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) mine don't. we get close to swearing a lot at the bratty popular girls.

message 21: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) We aren't supposed to swear, because God said that in Court our words will be put into two categories:

Useful
Meaningless for Him

So, when you say something, know every word will be counted either for you, or against you. There's no "in the middle"

message 22: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) so if i say... HI... will it matter?

message 23: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) Well, I'm not God... BUT I will say that in my opinion, that would be right, because first of all, THAT"S HOW WE COMMUNICATE. And God wants us to communicate. So I'm just saying, of course it's not gonna count against you. I don't know how that's gonna be, but I do know that God will judge our every word. LIke... Good and Bad, you know??

message 24: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) yeah.

message 25: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) sorry for trying to annoy you. it's what i do... :/

message 26: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) Haha, you're not annoying! YOu actually made me think, which is a good quality! :)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
LENA!! We do not get close to swearing at bratty girls!! Sometimes u do maybe but we dont! Sry calm down caro. :) yes agreed oksana, even stuff like darn it has bad intentions behind it

message 28: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) you know i just said that ONE word to shawna! the rest i just said WHAT A FREAKING BRAT

message 29: by Carolyn, My Excellent and Friendly and Thoughtful Mod (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Thats still mean......but we have already had this convo and lets not get into that. I was kinda upset when ally left bc we werent being nice. So lets all act christianly!

message 30: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) HAHAHAHAHA true... I've never really had a problem with bratty girls. I either 1) ignore them 2) say something nice (try it - you'll be astonished at the reaction)

And yes. I sometimes have a problem with keeping words in. Like, even the simplest comment like "wow look at her buck teeth" is already counted against you, ya know?? Language is one of the hardest parts when your a Christian

message 31: by Carolyn, My Excellent and Friendly and Thoughtful Mod (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Sigh. Ive never actually been in a sitch where i was so mad i had to swear so i guess i cant really understand lena sometimes.....

message 32: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) Haha... I screwed up once though... BIG TIME. You wanna hear the story??

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I only say swear words when they need to be said...

message 34: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) Haha... There's NO TIME when swear words need to be said :)

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Sometimes I do need to say them, but I never say "Holy" anything.

message 36: by Carolyn, My Excellent and Friendly and Thoughtful Mod (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Self control. U dont NEED to sin sometimes u just do...

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Lena (zhenglena) i don't.

message 39: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) I havent said a cuss word yet. only my guy friends. and when they do.... Boy are thry in truoble!

message 40: by Carolyn, My Excellent and Friendly and Thoughtful Mod (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Well u can always have more self control. And if u swear that probs means u need more.....

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Not really.

message 42: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) hmmm

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm a lot better than some people are, my friends friend is way worse than me, every other word she says is a swear word.

message 44: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (cookiegurl) You shouldn't compare yourself to your friends, but to yourself :) Friendly advice

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

The person I'm talking about is not my friend.

message 46: by Carolyn, My Excellent and Friendly and Thoughtful Mod (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 304 comments Mod
Oh sigh. This isnt getting anywhere. Basically u shouldnt swear according to the bible. No excuses BUT if u do u should confess it to God and ask him to help u.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't need help, no offense.

message 48: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) Close topic?

message 49: by Lena (new)

Lena (zhenglena) ok, simmer down! it isn't bad to ask for help, and it isn't silly to admit that you aren't perfect.
