The Door Between discussion

Kenna ran to a big rock and hid behind it. She waited for acouple of vampire teenagers to walk past. When they were gone Kenna jumped into the water. She felt her legs sqeezed together and form it's scals. It was painful but she knew she had to do it. And it was all worth it. Kenna swam far out into the ocean at 12:00 am. It was dark and the moon was shining brightly over head.
Kenna made it to the middle of the ocean. She douged a big hammer head shark. The most aggresive shark. Kenna let out a sigh of relief when it swam off.
"Kenna Lynn," yelled the meremaid maid. "Yes madame Bomswere?" Kenna said worridly. "Where have you been?" Madame Bomswere yelled angryly. "Up at the-" Kenna stopped. "Up at the?...." Questioned Madame Bomswere. Kenna called a dolphin and one swam by. It was her pet dolphin, Sally. She held tight to Sally's fin and it swam off. "I'll find out soon!" Yelled Madame Bomswhere angryly.
They made it to Kenna's cave. She looked up at the surface and hoped no one would be up there waching her. She moved the large rock and started going inside her cave.

Kenna heard a splash so she quickly shut the rock. She took in a deep breath of salty water and she stared at her collection of sea shells.

Kenna opened up her yellow bag and put some more seashells to her collection. She heard a swish. Kenna shook the thought away. "No one would go to the rock." Kenna whispered to herself.

Kenna swam quickly to the rock. "Princess." Kenna whispered to herself. She opened the rock a crack open and saw that she was telling the truth. "Uh..." Kenna studdered. She bowed low after opening the rock the rest of the way.

Sallity ran over to the shore and looked out at the ocean. She saw fugures of other beings but decided not to worry about it and shouted out a hello but both ignored her. she felt a little put down but she pulled out her usual smile and tried again. She collapsed and rubbed her throte after 6 more tries and felt a tear come out of her eye. For the first time in her life, nobobdy was listening to her and seemed not to like her.

Kenna got up and blushed. "Ah..." Kenna said, rubbing her arm. She thought she heard a shout, but she ignored it. It must be my imagination. Kenna thought. Kenna pushed a strand of floating blonde hair out of her face.

((Yeah! Go ahead! Kenna needs to meet new people!))

"Uhh....sure." Kenna said, moving out of the way.

Sallity got over her fit of sadness and decided to swim to their rock. She jumped into the water and wated far enough to change into her tail. She grunted from the pain but then smiled once she was again a part of the sea. She looked more closely and saw that the other two, wich were girls, were also mermaids. She swirled in the air and hoped that they just hadnt heard her. It had been the first time somebody hadnt noticed her because firat of all, she was a mermaid and so she had always had an air of undying beauty and second of all, she didnt have a singing voice, like most mermaids, and so, in replacement, she had been given a kind heart and sea green eyes, topped with billowing black hair wich was not the usual blonde but gave an extra touch. She pasted a genuine smile on her face, hoped her eyes were twinkling and swam up to them. She gasped when she saw that one was princess karana but composed her self and bowed to the princess. "Princess, it is a great honour to meet you" and then she turned to a girl who had illowing blonde hair and glittering lips. she was a very good looking mermaid. "it is a pleasure to meet you , to. Can I stay the night? you see, my dad kicked me out and banished from my tribe, even though i am the galapo princess. My father will not take me back, he says something about his duties or something like that..." Sallity trailed off, hoping the story would earn her simpathy. There was no galapo tribe but sallity hoped they didnt know that.

Kenna grinned. "Hullo. I'm sorry to hear that. You can stay the night in my cave. I'm not really used to....well, anyone talking to me acculey." Kenna said, rubbing her left arm.

"Thank you SO much!" sallity grinned. Hopefully she wouldnt have to lie very much from now on. "uhm, ya, my tribe isnt very well known, we like it that way..." I see Kennas discomfort and stop, plop down on my tail and say to her nicely"Its a pleasure to talk to you, I enjoy what Ive seen of you, I think well be great friends." Sallity grinned at both of them and did a summersault in the water and surfaced, dri[[ing onto the rock.

Kenna smiled slightly and sat down, still rubbing her left arm unconferbley. Soon her tail was going to turn back into legs if she doesn't get to the surface quick anofe.

"Uhh...I..." Kenna glanced away. "Y-Yes. Do yours?" Kenna asks.

Kenna let out a silent sigh of relief. "Uh...I dunno. You could've seen me anywhere." Kenna said.

Sallity looked from Kenna to Karana, wishing she was part of the conversaqtion and at the same time glad thaat she was not. They seemed as if they knew each other and so sallity didnt want to interrupt. she dived back into the water and swam to the bottom, looking for something she could give each other mermaid. She found a shell, a purple one that had a shiny pink in the inside, that would be perfect for kennas hair. Then she found a sea urchin, but not one that stings;one of the ones that are plain fluffy and cute, and thought that it would make a great pet for karana. she swam back up and quietly explained each gift and handed it embarrassinly to each girl. sallity was then embarrassed and blushed, a feat that wasnt common for a mermaid.

Kenna grinned and took the seashell. "Thankyou sooo much!" Kenna said. She put it on a shelf by two other seashells. One was blue and looked like a crab once lived in it. The other was purple and it was small, round, and smooth. Like a stone, but it was much lighter and prettier.

Sallity looked at kennas face and grinned while she hurried to put it on a shelf. Sallity looked wih wonder how someone could come to trust so quickly and then felt a pang of guilt when it hit her that they shouldnt trust her, not yet at least, she had lied to them. what was she going to do?

Kenna grinned at Sallity and hugged her. "Thankyou, thankyou so much!" Kenna said happily. "How will I ever repay you?"

Kenna's tail started to hurt painfuly. "I-I gotta go. Sorry, my-" Kenna's tail hurt the worst it had. She had to get to the surface as soon as posibal. "I gotta go!" Kenna yelled. She made it to the surface and she felt her tail slowly and painfuly change back. Kenna fell onto the sand. She took in deep, quick breaths of pain. Blood dripped down her legs.

Kenna nodded and took in a deep, shaky breath. "That was the painfulest change I've ever had." Kenna said. She rubbed her blood stained legs. "Why hasn't your tail changed?" Kenna asked.

Kenna was trying to calm her down. "Karana! Shhh! The vampires will see me!" Kenna yelled. She kept taking quick glances at every corner.

Kenna nodded. She stared at her bloody legs. "I better get this covered up." Kenna whispered in a scared voice.

Sallity looked at karana and Kenna , screaming about something like changing tails and vampires and wished that she would be part of the drama. But instead, she was stuck, being the girl who was a stranger so far. She changhed back, gasping with pain and walked over to kenne and mumbled a couple of words. Sallity watched as Kennas legs cleaned automatically and before anyone noticed she splashed water on her legs, making it look like it had rinsed the blood off. "there, that should make it easier for the wipes" sallity said nicely, smiling reassuringly at Kenna and then at Karana

Kenna smiled at them. "Thankyou, both of you." Kenna said. She wached Karana jump into water. "Karana! Are you okay?" Kenna called into the water.

Kenna wached Karana. "You sure?" She asks.

sallity watched karana flop slightly in the water and frowned, it looked like she was in pain. Kenna was way better, still sitting on the rock. "ya, karana, are you ok?" I shout, almost screaming, scared to death that she wasnt.

Kenna was starting to feel really panicey. And it wasn't just the vampires near them. She jumped back into the water and her tail changed painfuly. She swam over to Karana. "Karana? Tell the truth." Kenna said. It was obviouse that she was afraid by the look in her eye.

Kenna started to breath in heavily and quickly. "What do we d-do?" Kenna asked, twisting her fingures.

Sallity swam up to karana to, gasping slightly with pain but then recomposing herself. she went over to her and stared own at her tail. it was bruised. "kenna come, help me lift her to shore! grab her waist, we dont want to hurt her tail by brabbing it!" Sallity announced and then she grabbed karanas chest area, being carefull to not be to clumsy. She then, with kennas help, swam her to the rock and watched to see if it made any difference.

Kenna gulped. "H-Her dad?" She asked. Kenna rolled her eyes. Even if she was terrified, she had to save her new friend. She swam quickly over to the castle and knocked on the door.

"Your daughter Karana!" Kenna gasped. "Her tail is getting bruised and hurt, very badly!" Kenna said, tears stained her face.

Kenna points to the direction of the screaming and crying.

Kenna get's up to the shore and painfuly, her tail changes. "Are you okay Karana?" Kenna asked.

Sallity looked at karana, sighing with releif as her tail changed back to her norrmal green. She smiled at the king and changed her atil back to legs, walking over and leaning by karana, sent a silent prayer to the water gods, saying thanks for helping karana overcome the hardships of being a mermaid.

Kenna fell onto the sand. She glanced at the full moon. The werewolves should be out now. "I gotta go!" Kenna said. She got up, feeling alittle wobly.

"where are you going?" Sallity asked Kenna, hoping she could go with kenna

Kenna twisted her fingures. "Back to my house... where it's safe. You can come with me if you want. It's probley better and safer for you. You too Karana." Kenna said. There was a long, loud howl.

Kenna walked slowly and scaredly to her house.

Sallity looked from karana to kenna, walking slowly to kennas house. Safer? She swiped the confusion from her face and rushed after them. A ear-spliting howl broke the nights silence and Sallity suddenly understood what kenna had ment and was about to rush after them, fast enough to catch up when curiosity took over and she stopped to look behind her. There, right behind her, was a girl, or more like a wolf that looked like a girl. Its hair was a blonde colour and she had wide blue eyes but everything else about her said she wanted to kill me. She howled again and sniffed the air, stalking closer to me. I screamed, an inhuman sound, and shouted, "Kenna, Karana, run! just go, run!" Sallity felt a tear creep out and defeated, she sat down on the ground and waited for what was to come.

Kenna shook her head. She ran to the wolf and kicked her hard in the stumic with the loudest scream she could in her ears. She grabbed Karana and ran.

Sallity got up as quick as she could and jumoed into the water as Kenna kicked the wolf. She thought about her odds and decided that they would be better if she were in the water. She changed her legs and swam towards the entrance to kennas rock and jumped in right as kenna, who was holding karana,jumped in too."shut the door! shut the door!" Sallity screames as keenna rushes past her.

Kenna doesn't shut the door. "Karana! We need to save her!" Kenna yelled. She swam to the surface. "Karana! Jump into the water!"

"karana!`sallity yells with force, `come here, it will do no good to stay`She shouts, getting more desperate. Sakkity runs and grabs karana, throwing her into the water. `kenna, help!

Kenna helps Sallity pull Karana into the water. The werewolf jumps into the water and Kenna slaps it hard in the face with her tail.

Kenna pulled Karana and Sallity into her cave and shuts it. "We should be at my house right now. But instead we are in here and if I stay under water for four hours with out a single breath of accule air I will die." Kenna whispered to herself as she paced by her rock door.

Kenna nodded, staring at the ground as she paced.

Kenna sat on a rock and twisted her fingures.

Sallity swam around and around in circles, screaming and yelping in success of haviung made it into the cave. She did a summersauld aand screamed one more insult at the wolf and then hugged kenna and karana tightly. "we made it!!!" she whispered excitedly. she noticed boith of them were silent and looked scared and shut up a bit. But nothing could contain her excitement and so, Sallity, swam over to a rock sticking out of the water and sat there, thinking over all the nights adventures.

Kenna smiled slightly then went back to worrying and twisting her fingures.

A large dark gray wolf loped across the beach. As it approached the water, its form shifted, changing into a teenage girl. She tossed her dark hair out of her eyes and looked around.
