Arena 36
Kairo ran as fast as he could towards the Corn. He grabbed an air tank and some knives and removed his boots, floating up to the surface. He needed to get to dry land and set up camp. He arose to the surface and took off running.
Lorin looked around for Baylor and motioned toward a the tridents. Hopefully she would have the sense to get the necessities. He raced toward her grabbing the last of the air tanks along the way and motioned for her to grab the other stuff.
((Ooh, sounds fun!))Ru dove for the Cornucopia, reaching there quickly enough to grab two knives and a headlamp. She backed out soon after, backpedaling to avoid the other swimming tributes. She would've sighed but didn't; waste of air. She'd always hated swimming. She was pretty good, but she hated being underwater.
Her eyes searched the area for signs of Hannah, or approaching dangerous tributes, and she continued to back away. She looked down at the clunky wristwatch they'd suited her with. The names of all the tributes but one were lit up, and a number next to them. It was presumably their distance from her, or the Cornucopia, and the farthest before he disappeared was 40.
Ru looked up again and continued to look hard for Hannah.
Dylan's eyes didn't wait to look around. He ran, dashing to the Cornucopia. He grabbed a knife, or a couple.. And grabbed a net along with a air tank. He swam off to the boat.
Chad swam off and grabbed a Trident, a fishing pole, and some knives. She also grabbed a waterproof flashlight and began swimming towards the surface. ((Are Kairo and Chad allies? I think I remember them agreeing on it, but I'm not sure...))
Baylor looked around, scared but didn't dare to show it. You don't exactly want to look scared in The Hunger Games. She slipped out of the boots, and kicked hard, struggling against the currents of the water. Getting aware of her surroundings, she quickly take in the sight of the coral and tarnished ship. When reaching Lorin she quickly grabbed a flashlight, a net, and a couple knives. Her eyes moved up to Lorin's extra airtank. Good, a head start. Daniel made sure to look around for Clementine and Charlie; carefully looking out for the strange girl named Nerissa in the process. Relief washed over him when he reached the Cornucopia, he had managed to avoid the annual blood bath. He grabbed a heavy trident immediately, slipping past Baylor and Lorin like a snake. Of course he could swim good- afterall, he was from the district of sea. He managed to grab a net, flashlight, trident, and a pair of swimming shoes. He decided to take a chance, reaching right in front of Baylor and grabbing a wire. He ignored Baylor's astonished glare. He backed up, the shoes weighing him down. He'd be sure to get rid of them sometime soon. When he was finally at a far distance, he let his eyes search for his allies and his instincts turn on.
((Okay. So let's said Chads at the surface.))Kairo was crouched behind a rock when he saw Chad pop up. He ran over to pull him up. "Dude, I had an idea," he said, eagerly.

((He got one))
He began to swim away from the cornucopia grabbing baylor's hand and pulling her with him. He swam fast and hoped she would start swimming as well.

Baylor's head kept snapping from angle to angle. Searching for a good place to stay put. She looked up, air. She began motioning for the surface. Asking if he would think it would be a good idea. She wanted to be out of the water so bad. She wasn't exactly used to swimming in water. Livestock doesn't include nets and boats.
He shook his head not yet. he thought. He kept swimming strong. Soon enough the Cornucopia was a glimmer in the distance.
Toni ran to the corn. She grabbed a Net, an extra air tank, some swim shoes, and a headlamp then she took off her boots and surfaced
He took Chads fishing net and trident, and set up a trap, and when someone came up to the surface, the net would trap them. He stood back and admired his handiwork.
Baylor clutched his hand like a little baby. She felt embarrassed that she must have looked so childish on film. She wanted to pull her hand away but she knew Lorin would most likely think she was going against her own ally. Baylor's feet were now aching, and she looked back. Seeing the Cornucopia barely, far off in the distance. Just a speckle in the water now.
Koda didnt know what to do. He hadn't expected this. He swam as fast as he could to the cornucopia and grabbed rope and a trident. After that the boy followed Baylor and Lorin cause he didn't know what else to do.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a cave. He pointed wondering if she would like to rest in there.
Baylor's first thought was no. Cave's are too mysterious and dangerous. One wrong turn and you could appear in a room with lions pawing at you. You never know in The Hunger Games. She remembered what her sister had always told her "Take a chance." She nodded thoughtfully, still in deep thought on if it would be safe. Wouldn't kill to take a quick look right?
"When someone swims up," he started explaining, "They get stuck in this net," he took Toni's net carefully and set it up farther away, "Or in this. Then, to fill in the gaps, you'll have this trident and poke at them, and I'll have my knife and slash at them. Sound good?" He remembered something. "Toni, we dont know if anything else is up here," he handed her the knife and the fishing pole. "You kill whatever tries to attack, and when nothing is attacking, you might want to try and fish."
"What do you think this timer means?" he said. Terrible things ran throug his mind. When the Gamemakers start killing? The water drains? The mountain sinking? Rabid animal animal attacks? He shooke the thoughts out of his mind and took his spot, knife at the ready.
come on Toni be brave, your gonna win this for Emily she kept telling herself over and over in her head zoning out on everything else
((Yessiree!))Since no one was surfacing, Kairo sat down, cutting at the rocks, but ended up more like scratching them.
Chad sat down as well and studied his knives for nO apparent reason. I can survive this Arena. I'll do it for Hazel, He thought about his crush back in District 8. Chad had said he liked Hazel on his Interviews, so does she like him too? Or hate him for saying it?
"Want me to get bait? We dont have any of that. Or wire, which we could use to fill up these gaps, so we wont be here all night."
"Sure, but be careful. Here's my boots," Chad replied, taking off his boots and handing them to Kairo. "Don't die!"
((Ok.))"Be back later." He strapped on Chads boots and turned to them, grabbing the flashlight, incase it was darker down there. He jumped in and swam towards the bottom. He found the bait, the wire, and the rope. He picked up a sheild and placed the items in there. He swam up quickly, with no one attacking him, and rose to the surface where he gap was. "It's me!" he yelled.
Elise waited to ge to the Cornucopia. She knew it was risky, because all the tributes would scater, but she would get in there easier if nobody eels was there. She used her powerful leg muscles to propel herself to the Cornucopia, where she grabbed a knife, flashlight and a net. The shields were too heavy for her and she was unprepared with the tridents. She decided to stay close in the area of the Cornucopia in case she needed anything more. All her nerves were tingling. She didn't want to die at the Cornucopia, but she didn't have any ally to count on. She had to do what was best for her in the moment. She swam to hide behind some grayish coral.
"I guess." He started weaving the wire to a larger basket shape. He had woven baskets back home, so this was second nature. When he was done, he took off the shoes. He procceded to make a backup net from the rope, and placed the bait with the fishing hook. "I'm surprised we got all this," he motioned with his hand. "There was alot more, but I decided to be kind and spare them some," he winked. He didn't know what to do with the sheild, since he just needed to use it as a sort of basket. "What should I do with this?" he asked, raising up the sheild.
((Does Elise want to swim up and become an ally? We can hold her "captive," then decide that she could be helpful... Just an idea.))"Thanks," he smiled to Toni. "Now you can fish," he guestured to the bait.
((Huh? I'm so confused!))He set the sheild down. "So this rock looks mighty hard. Maybe closer to nighttime, we can get some seaweed and use it as pillows and blankets?"
((Sure! I'll have her do something stupid. ))After a few seconds of sitting there, Elise got bored. Her life was on the line, and she was twiddling her thumbs. She decided to explore some more and see what she could use in her surroundings. Elise swam upwards, dumbly not seeing the nets at the surface that were set by one o the alliances. She became tangled up in it and started to gasp desperately for air.
"We got something!" he yelled, and pulled the girl pull the girl out. "Are you with an alliance?" he asked her, his knife at her neck. "If she was, he would probably kill her as an example to her allies.
Elise violently expelled water from her lungs, each gasp makin the knife it a little deeper in her throat. She tried to struggle away from him but realized that he would easily kill her. She punched two letters into her keypad, because she was unable to speak. "No." Her throat felt like sandpaper, and blood dribbled from the cut in her neck.((FIRST ONE BLEEDING! Can I hear a "Woop Woop!"?))
" wait shes not with anyone we might can use her " Toni smiled moving the knife away from her throat
Landon looked around and instantly chose where to go. He tried to sprint to the corn, but felt as if he was jogging. All he got were three knives, a headlamp, a net, a trident, and a long strip of wire. He began to swim/walk the the sunken ship.
On his way there he encountered a kid, but he was behind. The boy only had a pair of swimming shoes. Landon quickly snatched them with the kid -who had them tied around his belt- not even noticing. He decided it was not time to kill.

If you had a smart stylist, they would have known the instant they saw the wetsuit, goggles, airtank and heavy boots that you would be underwater. The boots, it seemed, were just heavy enough to help you stay on the ground, but not too heavy to weigh the people down too much so they could still move with good speed. If the boots were taken off, you could swim around faster. But it would be harder to stay down low for a long amount of time. And staying down was important, for the cornucopia was the only way you could refill your airtank. Your airtank won’t last longer than 12 hours comfortably, and if you run out of air, you drown. Simple as that. You need the cornucopia. The thick glass of the cornucopia is seamless with the sand-coated floor, and the inside of the cornucopia is just large enough to stick your airtank into to have it filled back up with air. Around the cornucopia are an odd assortment of items: Swimming shoes, nets, ropes, wire, a few fishing poles, a half-dozen shields, a few knives, a few tridents, waterproof flashlights and headlamps, some bait for fish, and two extra airtanks.
After taking in that information, you focus more on what is around you. You see a sunken ship that is kinda small, could hold tightly maybe eight people, but you can’t see the entrance clearly. To get inside it would take a little digging through sand to find your way under it, then up into the interior that, thankfully, does have air and very little water inside.
You also notice in your brief observation of your surroundings that there are fake coral reefs and seaweeds, rocky outcropping along the sides(with some caves visible, half with air in them. All are reachable at ground level except for two), and above it seems the tank isn’t completely full of water with the rocky mountain going up over the water.
The sound of the gong rang dully around the arena.
Notes:
**You can go to the surface, but can not exit the arena in doing so. It is a somewhat dry place up there, but it would be hard getting back down unless you are an excellent swimmer. Also, who knows what other dangers lurk up there…. But you can go up to the surface, and you can climb up onto the rocks/mountain. It’s not very large up there though.
**In order to communicate you need to use the fancy wristwatches the Gamemakers supplied every person with. They act as cell phones between the tributes, except they work with text only and you need to be within 40 feet to message someone else. The wristwatches are a bit blocky with a screen on the front and a small keyboard that can be pulled out from the side. The screen is bright and when turned on by the button on the side will show the time, then an option you can press to see who is within distance to message. If you’re observant, you’ll also notice on the bottom of the screen on the right a timer is going down. It shows up without fail, nonstop. It starts at 240 hours and works it’s way down.
**Not all the areas with air in them have good, breathable air that will last long. Don’t count on them to be safe-havens.
**If you’ve confused about the caves and boat, they’re all completely underwater. Think of a sink of water. Now think of an empty container turned upside down and pushed into the water. There is air still inside of the container, you just have to travel up to reach it. That's how the boat is, and some of the caves. They've got pockets of air. Although, some caves are just bizarre and twisted with the Gamemaker's touch.
**Remember, weapons work really weird underwater. Same with movements. It won’t be normal at all.
**If you take off your boots to swim around you can’t carry them with you. They remain where you leave them unless someone steals them.
**The water is a comfortable temperature at the moment. Not at all unpleasant.
