Talk about Marina’s relationship with her boss, Mr. Fox. Would you call what they share love? Do they have a future? Why does he want Marina to go to the Amazon? What propels her to agree?

I still can't decide if I liked him/them as a couple. First of all, he's married, one strike. Marina and Anders were very close working associates as well as friends, and I feel that Fox sent her so she could carry on a lot of his work, and to research where he was and if they could find his body and send him home. I particularly liked Karen, Ander's wife. She had huge appeal to me, and I liked the trust that Marina and Karen had during such a horrible time. Fox was a wimp and a wuss when they went to tell her about Anders. That told me a lot about the guy. When things were good, that's fine, but when there were challenges, not sure I'd want him on my team. When Fox came at the end, that was kind of interesting, to see the dynamics between them. I'm not convinced I'd call it love, perhaps a convenience.
He was the weakest character for me. I never saw why Marina was with him or what she liked about him. He was just dull. He reminded me of the boyfriend at the start of a romantic comedy - the one who is so wrong for our main character so that they audience will cheer when our girl gets the right guy.
Yeah, I didn't see his appeal, beyond the fact that he seemed like a generally decent guy and had a pulse. But really, Marina never seemed that in love with him either. He was just sort of there.
I think Karen more than Mr. Fox pushes Marina to the Amazon. She was a loyal wife who seemed to have a genuine amount of grit. Like Carol, I too liked her character. She was believable.
