Sherlock Holmes discussion
Welcome! Introduce Yourself! :D
Hello!I started reading Sherlock Holmes earlier this year. At first I listened to a couple of the short stories on audible because I got them cheap! I then found a couple of books when I was having a clear out and got hooked!
I was so surprised at how easy they were to read considering how long ago they were written. I also realised how much modern stuff is based on Sherlock's observation skills and applied logic.
I read a lot of crime books and reading Sherlock Holmes has helped me appreciate them all the more!
Other than reading I love creative pursuits and am quite into crochet at the moment.
HI!I thought I introduced myself, but never mind. Guess not. XD
I'm Robin. I like reading {duh}, tea, and stuff. I don't feel like going into detail 'cause it's 10:00 and I'm REALLY tired. So yeah. You'll figure me out soon enough. XD
Hi, everybodyMy name is Tasnim, I'm 14 years old, I like reading so much and I like learning English, I also like Sherlock Holmes's mystery, I started to read about it early, but I really like it.

HI! Cool name, too."
Thanks, I can give you the picture if you like it.
Robin wrote: "XD It's not JUST teacups, it's what comes in them! That would be cool, Tasnim. Thanks!"
Welcome
I just find it odd that there are two girls that have teacups as their profile pics, and both found this chat..... it just seems coincidental, and I'm not one that believes in coincidences.

you can find someone with the same of your picture, it's not a big deal to be surprised about.
I know, it's just the odds. I mean, two girls with teacups as their profile pics, close to the same age, both on Goodreads, and both on this thread. I wonder what those odds are.
I just started reading Sherlock Holmes, but I'm already loving it. I'm studying to be a forensic scientist, so you could say the whole crime-solving thing is kind of my thing (along with reading, of course!).And I like teacups too, for the record! :D
Hi!No way! That's exactly what I want to go to school for! I've started reading into it further.
XD That's good!

HI ASHLEY!I watch the BBC show about modern day Sherlock/Watson set up, and I've seen the recent American films.
Robin wrote: "XD It is a bit odd.Wait. Did I even tell you how I old I am, Khali?"
Through the science of deduction, I was able to guess that your are at least twelve or thirteen years old.
Mel wrote: "Welcome, welcome Ashley!!! Did you say A SHOW BASED ON SHERLOCK HOLMES?!! :D What's it called?"BBC: Sherlock
then there's the new Sherlock ripoff in America, Elementary. it's on CBS. well, it will be.
I can't believe they're going to make Watson a woman.

I heard about that, Khali. The CBS one. I kind wanna see it just to see if it's as awful as I'm thinking it could be.You're a bit off there, Khali.
They're fairly good, Mel, but I actually prefer BBC: Sherlock.
Each season is only like, 3 episodes, though. And be warned-HUGE cliff hangers are that show's specialty.
i'm starting to be a big fan of the sherlock holmes series, and, i had heard about from my former english teacher, and when i bought it i was some-how hooked,
Hi I am Krystal, I have been reading Sherlock Holmes for years. As for, my favorite I have three that ear equally my favorites, The Final Problem, The Empty House, and The Norwood Builder.
Hello! I'm Mary. I got into Sherlock Holmes after watching the BBC TV series. I've read about half the books so far and loving them! :)
First read Sherlock when I was 12, hidden under my desk while I was supposed to be doing some boring school stuff. Great reading.
WELCOME, GUYS! :D :) *does happy dance*
@Ian: High five, man. Sherlock Holmes overrules boring school stuff x100000000.

I love BBC Sherlock and the one with Robert Downey Jr. Sorry, I'm Gabrielle, lover of books and writing and Sherlock and more! Thank you for putting info about this group on book discussions or I never would have found it ;)
Hi! I'm Montana, and I strongly enjoy piano, science, and reading Sherlock Holmes! My favorite Sherlock Holmes is probably The Return of Sherlock Holmes, but it is really hard to say. All of them are the best! =D I think I've seen some of the BBC Sherlock Holmes, they're pretty good. I saw them before I read the books, but I still enjoyed the shows immensely. =D
Howdy sleuths! I adore the original Conan Doyle stories--lucked into an edition with the original Strand Magazine illustrations. They truly complement the stories. As far as a fave, well I love them all but to me the definitive is from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, "The Red-Headed League." Just brilliant. I loved the older BBC series with Jeremy Brett and the new series called Sherlock, but am not so excited about "Elementary." I'll try to keep an open mind. Love, love, love the Robert Downey Junior movies.
Look forward to some fun chats here!
Hi Lucie and Montana! :D
@Lucie: I love, love, love those movies, too. :))))
@Montana: Piano? Coolio! :D I LOVE listening to piano pieces, but I can't play for my life. I you don't count 'Old MacDonald had a Farm' and all that. XD
