Does anybody else see a correlation between the sprawl of Gibson and interzone in Burrows' Naked lunch I read Naked Lunch years ago, and am sure there is a similar feel. maybe there are other better or more original references i have missed?

It's been a long time since I have read Naked Lunch, but isn't Interzone almost like a drug induced Matrix? In the Gibson books the Sprawl is just another term for the City and the heavily populated areas around it.

Describing Interzone as a drug-induced matrix is probably pretty accurate, though I don't think Burroughs wrote it with that in mind.
