Alex Sikora (alexsikora) | 7 comments What book should we try to read for July? I know some people read faster/slower than others, so maybe we should try to do it by month.
How about: Neuromancer
Or list other options.
Edit: Maybe 2 months per book?

Edit: Now just a general book suggestion list.

Jean-Nicolas Jolivet (jeannicolas) | 8 comments Personally I wouldn't mind Neuromancer, however it seems Jane has read it already! Come to think of it, it will probably be hard to find a book that Jane HASN'T read!

Alex Sikora (alexsikora) | 7 comments A second read-through of Neuromancer is pretty helpful actually, but I'm up for other suggestions as well.

I don't mind re-reading anything. It'll have to be good or new or both for this group to agree to read something, which I'm always happy to re-read :)

Jean-Nicolas Jolivet (jeannicolas) | 8 comments In that case: I've just bought, and already started on The Name of the Wind

can we pick it? can we pick it? can we pick it? I've only read the first chapter so far :P

message 6: by Jean-Nicolas (new)

Jean-Nicolas Jolivet (jeannicolas) | 8 comments Ok forget The name of the wind... Jane has read it AND does not want to read it again! ಠ_ರೃ

You guys pick something, I'm fine with anything really...

Oh, and damn right, that was a look of disapproval with a monocle!

message 7: by Alex (new)

Alex Sikora (alexsikora) | 7 comments How about The Road

message 8: by Jean-Nicolas (new)

Jean-Nicolas Jolivet (jeannicolas) | 8 comments My suggestion: Neverwhere

:)

message 9: by Alex (new)

Alex Sikora (alexsikora) | 7 comments I just started that, so I'm up for it!

message 10: by Jason (new)

Jason Foreman (threeve) | 3 comments I've read them all but The Road, but I'd read any of them again. I'm actually about 1/2 way into the sequel to The Name of the Wind right now: A Wise Man's Fear.

message 11: by Jean-Nicolas (new)

Jean-Nicolas Jolivet (jeannicolas) | 8 comments ohhh didn't notice threeve was in the group! personally, I think it would be more interesting if we went with something that no one has read!

I say we go with The Road! at 241 pages, should be a quick read too! (i.e. one that I can read in a month :P )

message 12: by Sam (new)

Sam Mcdonald | 6 comments I'm up for anything! I'll probably only read half of it! But... I wanna play!

message 13: by Sam (new)

Sam Mcdonald | 6 comments I'd really like to read Neverwhere. Huge fan of Gaiman and saw the weird British TV thing.

So my specific objection was starting a book in a series that half of us has read :P As much as I want to re-read Name of the Wind, I'm not sure how much I'd be spoiling by accident by talking about Wise Man's Fear... and it's also kind of a bummer to start a series and not finish it!

I am totally up for reading or re-reading most other things though. (For the record, I've already read The Road :P just didn't rate it on GR yet. But I'd be up for re-reading it.)

message 15: by Josh (new)

Josh | 1 comments Someone tell me what to read!

message 16: by Jason (new)

Jason Foreman (threeve) | 3 comments Is there any other Gaiman book that we all haven't read? Anansi Boys, American Gods? I might also suggest The Graveyard Book, although that's technically a YA title.

message 17: by Sam (new)

Sam Mcdonald | 6 comments I've read American Gods. Nothing else on that list.
