What do you think about love triangles/squares/pentagons, the phenomenon so common in Young Adult Literature today? Good or bad? Annoying or amusing? Leave your thoughts here!

Love triangles are awesome :D

Love triangles are AWFUL!!!! I hate them!!

They are okay in certain tasteful situations, but now they are over done and BORING!

I like love triangles until a certain point where it is over done and boring like Charlie said ^^^^^

Most of the time you can automatically tell who she's going to pick. Spoiler: It's going to be the dark, brooding sexy paranormal guy, not the nice, funny best friend.

I hate love triangle, I don't think you really love someone if you have to think twice.

That's so true.

books with love triangles is sometimes okay..But if a girl likes two guys and wont shut up about not knowing who to pick throughout the whole book then thats annoying

they are ok...

Love Triangles are great! (though sometimes the author really overdose it and so it become completely unbelievable) Otherwise, I'mm all for having to choose between two,three,four or however many characters.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Twilight start the love triangle trend? Team Edward and Team Jacob?

Depends on who's in the love triangle. I don't mind them if the main character has two awesome people to choose from (eg. Matched), because then I don't really mind who they end up with.

But if I HATE one of the people the main character has to choose from (eg. Julian in Pandemonium), I hate love triangles because I obviously know who she should choose ;)

One of the things I don't like about love triangles is that sometimes I don't agree with who was chosen and who wasn't.

it depends on the type of person in the triangle- r they nice and have an insane crush on someone who likes someone else? or r they evil and backstabbing?

it also depends on the way the author writes it...

Whenever i finish books like that i start screaming at the character who got to choose XD

i just finished

and natalya has an insane crush on this guy, he has a GF and cant break up with her at the time bcuz her family is going through a hard time. well natalya is friends with his GF. when her crush is about to break up with his GF, natalya says no! i can't let u break up with her then start dating u, its wrong. like 2 pages later the book ends. it was an ending i dispise cuz she didn't get the guy!

she would have made a frienemy but it was worth it to me!

Oh my gosh, what terrible circumstances, your friend dating your crush and they're about to break up but she (Natalya) knows that she'll feel guilty dating her friends to be ex boyfriend! Wow how sad for her....

IKR! and for me cuz she has being crushin' on him for a couple years i think, but i would do what she did cuz i wouldn't hurt a friend like that

but i wish the author didn't make natalya like that. Poo. i was upset when i finished the book and it ended like that

Love triangles make a book interesting. Without them love is so much simpler and more boring for us.
