Bruce | 1 comments What a great idea to start this... And a perfect book to start with! I even recently blogged about this book for King County Library System's 'Book talk' blog!:

Della Scott I'm about one-third way through this book and have to admit I don't like it too much. But I'll keep going. I certainly like the idea of Books on the Bus.

I think this is a challenging book in a lot of ways. It was written in a short space of time by a lot of people. As soon as you think you know a character, a new writer takes over, and she seems different. Also, because there are so many different writers, too much crazy stuff happens in too short of a space of time. It helps not to judge this novel by the same standards you would use to judge one written by a single author over many months or years.

One way to look at it is as an adventure in storytelling. Imagine you're sitting around a campfire with 10 people. One of them starts a story, and when she leaves off, the next person takes over. Viewing that way changes the expectations and makes it easier to value for what it is.

Thanks again for participating, Della!

Lisa (lcece77) | 1 comments So I have finished Hotel Angeline and I have to say it was one of the most different reads I have had. It was interesting to see where each author took the character.
