I'm not a huge Elvis fan, but my uncle is. I don't think Elvis is alive. I'll ask my uncle when he comes back.
I have always wondered why they never corrected the spelling of his middle name on his tombstone. It's almost like a Jeff Foxworthy joke!thenkuvurremush!
His early music is especially excellent and I like his gospel songs.
I hate to admit that I don't even recall his middle name. I didn't know it was misspelled on his tombstome. How odd?
Which gospel song do you most enjoy? My favorite gospel song is Amazing Grace--his is not the best version. I actually don't know whose is, but I keep looking.
I agree that the early songs are the best. What are your favorites?

Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, Don't Be Cruel and my favorite, Heartbreak Hotel .. and the list goes on.I saw a show called "And He Touched Me" that was released late last year. I loved the fact that before he was really famous, he used to show up in little black bars on the wrong side of the tracks late at night and sing.

My list is pretty long as well. One of my favorites is Suspicious Minds, except for the talking part in the middle. Makes me miss cassette tapes.

My Mum was a fan and she used to have lots of LPs and singles by Elvis. I guess they would pay a fortune now, but sadly enough, her brother throw them all away when she moved! Toooooooooo bad!!!
As a teenager, I once used part of an Elvis song in a letter to someone I was in love with: the whole resultant affair was humiliating. Ever since, barring a few short years when I tried to overcome my terminal embarrassment, I have advised people not to put faith in pop lyrics as effective means of communication.

I just have to know...what lyrics did you use? And I will stand by your advice and not use pop lyrics to communicate, although I think you could come up with a great letter just using pop lyrics. What do you think?
