I have read this story and though I dont think it as good as the first couple of Jody's books it still has some things to learn from it and she spins a good yarn about the characters at the lumber camps..
I enjoyed this book. How neat that your grandparents live there! I guess it was a pretty rough place when it started out.
Yes, it wasn't as good as Jody's first two books but for Michiganders the history and location is awesome.
I loved this story and put it up there with my all-time favorites. Probably because it was so stirring, yet shocking and impacting. The location of the logging camps in Michigan - descriptive and interesting!
You may also like Jody's other two books, The Preacher's Bride and The Doctor's Lady. Very good.

You're one up on me! Haven't read A Noble Groom. Is it purely fiction or based on someone's life?

I'll be working on a review for this one soon. :)
