Can we do a book that’s somewhat suitable for younger readers as well? I mean, I love Dystopia, but Young Adult has a few suggestive lines here and there, and I’m sort of afraid of them. I mean, if you stick with Young Adult, it’s fine, I don’t need to participate, but… yeah.Um… How about Holes Louis Sachar, or Silverwing by Kenneth Opal? They’re both very enjoyable books. I certainly loved them. Especially Holes. That was a good book.
I've never heard of it, what's it about?
And of course we don't have to only read YA! I love children's fiction too :D

Weird, yet I'm curious.
I'd love to try 'Lord of the Flies' it sounds creepy but awesome all the same ;)

i'm reading the Chronicles of Narnia for the first time now, and trust me, they're as good as it gets. you're never too old to read them and if you like Tolkien's style of writing, Lewis' is similar. it would also be suitable and highly enjoyable for younger readers, as Fireboltmidnight mentioned...:)
yeah, i like that we start with sort of a classic, but we should get everyone's suggestions and throw them into a poll
and i just finished the hobbit!! *sigh*

I love Lord of the Flies:) Umm I also love love love A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. It's a classic.
I think that a book which all ages enjoy and tend to enjoy that would be a great read is a book called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. It is an excellent book which raises questions about society.
A couple of others include:
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
The Ghost Child by Emma Tennant

I like all of your suggestions:)
Holmes & Doctor watson are such fantastic characters, and in a roleplay other indaviduals could play detective inspectors, villans, sherlocks brother and also Moriarty his no. 1 enemy.

(fun! i once did a short piece 'harry Potter & the carabean pirates' which was interesting, also 'the timelord and the netherwood ball')

Yes, I've been meaning to read "Wolf brother".
oh, it's good- you should definitely read them. They have a really course adventurey feel to them and they're really cute. They're hard to put down and there's a huge background of myths and legends in the different tribes. I'd love to have that as a group read when the next genre is 'adventure' or 'childrens' or something. :)
Books mentioned in this topic
Assassin's Apprentice (other topics)Feather Boy (other topics)

So maybe if you guys put forward a couple of suggestions (with their genres), we could finally agree on something :)
I'd love to do Wolf Brother- Michelle Paver. This is a mythic fastasy/ historical fiction. One that I've already read but I did so at an age that I really didn't take much of it in.
