Does anyone else think communication might help?

CaroleDee Oh I know exactly what you're talking about. The communication thing has been driving me crazy in a bunch of romances that I've read recently. It's funny to me because half the time the hero/heroine will have a complete internal dialogue that, if said OUT LOUD would fix whatever problems are plaguing the relationship/situation..... BUT I just chalk it up to a necessity to keep a book going. If they fixed every problem they had early in a novel there wouldn't be much to read about. lol. But I still feel your pain :)

Teresa I absolutely loved this whole series. Its one of the only book series I've liked enough to re-read.

I understand what you are saying however, if the characters always communicated, it wouldn't necessairly make the story as good!

I am anxiously awaiting Lissa and Sabers story!!

Heather Yes, count me one who is tired of it. I didn't think it was so bad in this book, but my god...I just tried reading Claimed again recently to see if my feelings had changed, and they hadn't. It was actually more irritating to me. I feel like Claimed is the worst offender of the series, in this regard. And you know, I think the fact that a lot of romance authors use this same "miscommunication trope", especially in Sci-fi/PNR is kind of sad and a little disheartening to me, as a potential future author (I am working on my own stories now). There are so many other ways in those genres where literally anything is possible, that you could create tension or use a crisis of some kind to keep a couple a part, without having to rehash the same stupidity over and over again. Sorry if that sounds bitchy but that's my two cents! I expect more dammit! (jk..sort of :)
