This is a book cover (spine) rainbow I put together a couple years ago. The only mystery in there is Murder is Binding by Lorna Barrett for the orange spine.

Barb wrote: "Are these supposed to be all cozies? Or would any genre count?"Typically, the aim is cozies, but no one's ever been fussed about it - if you are reading another genre that fits the colour, or are having a hard time finding a specifically coloured cozy, Briansgirl has been flexible. :)
Thanks, Jennifer. I need to look at the books I have out from the library -- and the ones that are on their way -- to see if I can realistically hope to finish this before the end of September. If that looks likely, I'll be back to sign up :) Oh, is backdating allowed? As long as I read the book after July 1?
Yep! At least as I understand the question, it is. I have a book that I read a few days ago that I'm using for this challenge because I read it after the July 1 start date. Is that what you mean?

You can do it either way. I usually mix it up since I read alot of different stuff but I know some folks try to do it with only cozies. Since you have 3 months to read 6 books, you might have time to read it with all cozy mysteries. On the other hand, if you're having trouble finding a particular color, anything will work. Kinda up to you how you want to do it.

Yes Barb and Jennifer, since I dated it back to July 1st, as long as you read it after July 1st you can count it.
Thanks for the quick responses :) Now I have to check my book list to see if I have a reasonable chance of completing this in the time allowed.

The bottom of the first one Marisa is violet and the entire middle of the second one is violet. That's enough of one prodominant color to qualify.
Sounds like fun - count me in! I always like to post my book covers, especially for a challenge like this where its all about what the book looks like and then I get frustrated when I can't find my cover here on goodreads.

The cover for the Seventh Sinner by Elizabeth Peters that s shown on GR isn't the bright emerald green of the cover of my copy, so I didn't include it.
Only the book(s) witht he date by them have I already read. So, at this point only The Blue Rose is done and I'm curretnly reading The Gilded Shroud, whose cover is purpler by the edges.

I was going to use it as my yellow book...I don't remember what the color looks like in person, and on here ti looked sorta a greenish yellow, so I thought I'd use that.
My green book is "The Seventh Sinner" by Elizabeth Peters.

Vicky, I actually read #3 in the series, and hadn't realized it WAS a series until then. So I reserved The Camel Club and The Collectors from the library, to get me up to speed! I'll certainly let you know:)

I really enjoyed it. I hope you like it also.
I just saw Murder on the Eiffel Tower in another thread and it sounded good enough that I ordered it off PBS (paperbackswap).
I used Cockatiels at Seven as my green book afterall. For yellow, I'll probably do a Kate Kingsbury, Pennyfoot Hotel book...all their spines are yellow. Most of the yellow-colored cozies I've read or am not up to yet in that particular series.

Here's my completed list...I managed to do them all this month...that was by chance, not design. How often does one happen to have an orange book picked out? I don't think orange covers are very plentiful. You'll notice I change a few items from my first list...I went with Cockatiels at Seven for green instead fo yellow...after looking at the cover again, it seemed less yellow.

Brenda wrote: "Does no-one give their star ratings for the books they've read here?"The rating isn't part of the challenge. Some provide that (see the post above), others don't. It's OK either way.
If you're interested in ratings or reviews of a particular book, you can click on the bookcover or the link, that will open the GR page for that book. OR you will find comments under the Cozy Corner discussion thread for Cozies I Just Finished. To find comments from this group about a specific book, you can search the discussion post using the book title or author's name. Look in the upper right of this page just below group information.
(Hope that isn't TMI)

In this challenge, you'll be looking for book covers to match the colors of the rainbow. Either the cover or the spine must have a large amount of whatever color you're looking for. Obviously solid colored covers aren't necessarily easy to find (spines are easier), but a spot of color the size of a dime isn't quite enough either. (For example: The booktown mysteries by Lorna Barrett have spins in various solid colors, as do the Tea Shop Mysteries by Laura Childs). I let the spines qualify because I love seeing a rainbow when looking at a stack of books. :)
You'll have 3 months to complete the challenge.
