Varla Fiona (dory_42) Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke

I first met Cornelia Funke through Brendon Fraser in Inkheart the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and thought it would be a great book to read. I waited a few years, so I could forget the movie and imagine the book my own way and then read the entire trilogy. It was awesome!! I have looked for other books by her over time and have read a few and always enjoyed them. I absolutely love dragons so this was a definite for me and as it now fits in for three different challenges in three different groups I am very happy to be listening to it on audiobook during my commute. I am not even halfway yet, but am loving it!!

Dana Crouch (Callaway) (bookknurd) | 101 comments I read this a few years ago. I've liked/loved almost everything I've read by Funke. The Inkheart trilogy was great. I think the first book I read by her was The Thief Lord which was also awesome.

I never saw the Inkheart movie, though. Maybe I'll check it out.

Varla Fiona (dory_42) I read Thief Lord a couple of months ago. Loved it. I watched Inkheart movie a while ago, but I seem to remember it sticking well to the idea of the book. I am always careful to leave sometime between finishing the book and watching the movie, or else I get frustrated by all the differences.

Sara (sarareadsbooks2) It has been years since I read this book! I loved it, and it sent me on a dragon craze. I might have to go read it again just to relive some good memories. I've read the first book in the Inkheart trilogy but haven't had an opportunity to read the second one. Just another book to add to my 'pleasure reading' list :)

Megan | 19 comments I didn't like this book much. The story just seemed a little too weird to me, and I couldn't connect with the characters at all. Though, I did like the first book in the Inkheart series and The Thief Lord (I'm planning to buy this in the future, since my sister and I liked it so much).
