Dylan loves Max but he isn't forceing her into anything.....I'm. Team fang but you cant hate Dylan for what he cant help... and fang is mine....I love fang..the image of him in my mind makes my heart beat 5time faster than I every thought it could so amazing and when he left I didn't eat....and my friend thought that someone in my life died and they thought... i died too and in a way I did...he was gone and then I wanted to hit someone and I'm really strong so to say if I'm hurt or mad...back off.and NEVER. Double. Cross me. Lol that is why I'm call aria and Max because aria means lionesses or melody and Max takes the to the extreme..and piece if advice bodys and hard objects like a wall made of brick don't go together..then again it was the only thing I saw...and I had to hit something ....

Fang. Because although in the latest book and the first few glimpses of nevermore max seems to be leaning towards Dylan a lot and hardly mentions Fang anymore, Patterson spent six books building a relationship between Max and Fang and if it suddenly switched over to a random new romance and stayed that way, the ending would be very anticlimactic and i think James Patterson is smart enough to realize that, especially since the vast majority of his fans would be very displeased if it went the other way. Also, in an interview with james patterson that i found online, he said in response to the whole Fang/Dylan dilemma that "you can bet on it in Vegas" and i could just be getting my hopes up but it sounds to me like he could be dropping a hint because in book six Max and Fang went to Vegas together during one of the strongest points in their relationship.(am i crazy, or does that seem possible?)

But that's the thing, isn't it? I want a character who has character, not just someone who's whole personality is based solely on someone else. I feel like his purpose in life is to love Max, and that is a sad existence for anyone, really, no matter how many people say "That's so sweet!" Or romantic, or selfless or whatever. The whole time I'm like, "Get a life, Dylan. One that doesn't revolve around Max". No offense or anything. Just my reasoning.

I like Fang and Dylan both. But I have to say that fang and max should be together. Dylan makes Max too weak. I like Dylan, but I like Fax. Does this make any sense?

i feel like dylan was an unnecessary character who shouldn't have been introduced to the books in the first place... obviously the ghost writer who created that WONDERFUL plot point wasn't in his right mind. this was the book where the flock:
-saved African kids from hunger
-discovered other mutants
-said mutants were tested on
-dylan
-fang first to die
-flock broke up
-max and fang went to las vagas
-rest of flock went to hollywood
-rest of flock got a random sickness
-fang leaves
-fang dies
fang comes back to life..
-than leaves again
-after a dog wedding
...
i mean come on it wasn't that long of a book to make that much work

i'm just unhappy that as soon as maya died he went back to max, that just seems wrong. i wished he had just gone and left maya, and that maya could be with dylan. i hate it that dylan is just left unhappy. i just wanted all the main characters to be happy

I feel like Patterson, or the ghoster that wrote the last five books I'm guessing, introduced Dylan too late for many readers to like him. If they wanted a love triangle, they should have introduced him in, like, the second book. But why introduce him anyways? I feel like he was pointless. Yeah, waste all your time developing Fang and Max's relationship and then in the sixth book, BAM, random new character.

for a while there i was team dylan, and the leader of said team, but the thing is Nevermore gives you a look in his head. and let me tell you, that kid is wacko. if JP wasn't JP i'd swear the writer wrote dylan on crack or something. btw they do fight, and dylan wins. but max gets through to him b4 he kills fang. P.S. i changed teams after dylan went off the deep end.

Well Max loved Fang naturally. Everything she said about Fang was honest and true but when she talked about feelin attracted to Dylan she said for some strange reason or I wish it didnt or stupid dylan. She didn't even want to love Dylan. It was programmed inside of her (which is creepy) but with Fang she loved him from the start and they were always close. And besides, Dylan's only two. Ewwwww....

I don't think Max was programmed to love Dylan. I agree with you about Max loving Fang. Basically, I think what happened with Dylan is, when Fang left, she was completely heart broken, and so Dylan supported her, and she kind of fell in love with him--while still in love with Fang at the same time. Basically what I meant was that the whole situation was against Dylan the whole time and that it was unfair for him.

But remember Max started feeling electricity and the love for his smile and sweet stuff he did even while Fang was still there. True, but love isn't always fair. I'm glad she went for the guy she loved more otherwise she wouldn't have been completely happy. And Fang left not because Maya died, but because the group was splitting up and his voice told him to!

i completely agree! people shouldn't hate dylan, they should feel bad for him!

Dylan is an awesome guy. But he seriously lost control in Nevermore. Max should've have ended up with him if this was a different book in a different series. But in my opinion, Fang was way better for her.

Even if Fang left twice, he still knew her better than Dylan did.

Yes, Dylan and Max are good together, but they have no...like relationship development. They were just matched together and then told that they had to be together or they would die, so their relationship was just based on trust that wasn't really there. Then, with Dylan everything was too perfect. They were perfect for each other, but Dylan had absolutely no flaws when it came to Max. He knew everything, so there wasn't much work to do to develop their relationship.

On the other hand, Fang and Max are perfect for each other. They make mistakes and fight, but in the end their relationship has strengthened and developed so much that they know each other well enough. No relationship is going to be PERFECT with no fights and one knowing EXACTLY what the other one wants EVERY SINGLE SECOND, but they know what to do when needed. Also, the fact that Fang came back proves that he did care for her. He has always had her back from the beginning, and never did anything that would hurt her (not including breaking her heart).
Breaking Max's heart by leaving was the only bad thing that he did and I guess I would've done the same if a loved was in danger because I was with them.

The big thing that made Max hesitant to accept her feelings with Dylan was that she never had real closure with Fang (I may be wrong since I didn't really read Angel well), but she wasn't sure whether Fang would stay true to his word and come back to her. Before the fight, I was sure that she wouldn't go back to Fang because she didn't want to get hurt. I thought she would've gone to Dylan (I was mad).

But, Dylan trying to kill Fang made her realize that she loved Fang more than anything. Sure, when Dylan came back and saved her I liked him, but he needs to back off and let their relationship build if he wants a chance. But, since Max has chosen Fang, he has to back off and be just a friend or else he is going to lose her forever.

haha, i like dylan, but he went kinda crazy in the end, destroying the neighborhood. A little unnessary. I like Dylan, but NOT WITH MAX. I looooooovvee fang. FAX FOREVER!

I started to hate Fang in Angel. This book just cinched it for me. I officially hated Fang in his first POV chapter and then strongly disliked Max when Fang came back. I really warmed up to Dylan though. Yes, he fell off the deep end, but sheesh! I think I'd go a little crazy too with all the pressure to be with Max and his own desire to be with her. The fact that she hardly responds to him outside of her mind would be enough to drive him a little crazy. The fact that she finally does start responding to him, only to be shoved aside for the guy that left her - twice! - I would go on a rampage too! And then, Max can act all high and mighty against him because she has her Fangy back, which Max just casually shoves into Dylan's face by the way. Little prick. Dylan has problems but so do Fang and Max. I don't like Maya, but I wanted to slap Fang across the face when, after a moment of grief for the girl who said "I love you" to him and who he was definitely more than crushing on, he flees to Max and immediately resumes his relationship with her. Oh, and let's not forget the whole ditching his gang part. He doesn't think about the betrayal of Star and Kate and he doesn't think twice about leaving the rest of his gang - who need him. What kind of parting words for a bunch of people who didn't do anything but act like kids, are "Sorry, but it actually hasn’t been that fun," before disappearing from their lives. Ah, mean! And Max! Her progress, her thoughts about Dylan, suddenly fly out the window on Fang's arrival. She's suddenly all Fang and no Dylan, poor guy. Neither of them, Fang nor Max, find a second thought for Maya or Dylan. Not a single thought that didn't involve some kind of small measure of guilt. That's on behalf of Max, Fang didn't think about Maya or his gang at all. I wanted to hit them both. I only finished this book today and started looking at my reviews from previous books in the series. I practically cringe each time I see "I love Fang" and thought he was my favourite character. Ugh.
So, I am, without a doubt, one hundred gazillion percent Team Dylan.

Wow... this post was a lot longer than I thought it would be.

I am a TOTAL FAX FAN!!!!!! It's good to see lots of people agree with me. I think Max and Fang were meant for each other because their relationship has been one earned through years and hard work. Dylan just came and was "made" to love Max. That doesn't sound like a healthy relationship so I go Fang all the way!!!!!!

I've properly finished the book now and I hate Fang more than ever, Maya and Dylan were basically rebound, how unfair.
Now I will stick with team Dylan, because he deserved more, if not love, at least some respect would have been good.

Fang ditches her twice. He was there for her at the beginning, but then he started going off on a tangent. I actually thought he was going to end up with Maya. It was one of the reasons I started hating him.

I HATE DYLAN!!!!!!! He ruins everything once he comes. He should just be exterminated from maximum ride.
