Claire mcdonagh (clary_fray) | 30 comments I have always wanted to know what type of magic I would control, I have some theories of powers i would like to have but what type of magic would you like to posses?

What type of base magic would you have?

Would you be an adept? (Adept mages have dedicated their life and magical potential to a single set of powers, although the scope of these powers might vary

Types of adept magic
Symbol Magic, Teleportation, tunnelling, Necromancy, Sensitivity and more

Would you be elemental? (Is the manipulation of fire, earth, water and air for both offensive and defensive purposes)

message 2: by Nick (new)

Nick | 5 comments I would probably be a teleporter.

message 3: by Nick (new)

Nick | 5 comments Or maybe i'd have Frightening Jones' power - you know, laser eyes.

message 4: by Niel (new)

Niel | 319 comments I wouldn't know what power I would want. I really like the elemental idea of magic.

message 5: by Arrow (new)

Arrow | 10 comments I'd have to say both.

message 6: by Niel (new)

Niel | 319 comments Can I have all powers?

message 7: by Puspita (new)

Puspita Hapsari (flarhea) | 45 comments Magical ambidextrous.. Just like skulduggery..!

message 8: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments Yeah i can't chose either. Thats why I love that Val does Necromancy and Elemental.

message 9: by Niel (new)

Niel | 319 comments Yeah choosing is tough. I think if I knew more about each, like if there was a short detailed description in the back of one of the books if each type i might be able to choose then

message 10: by Puspita (new)

Puspita Hapsari (flarhea) | 45 comments However, i get the impression Elementals have more.... pride..? Either it's some kind of vanity displayed by the characters or that -as far as i recall- Derek has most of the greatest sorcerers in the series as elementals.. Whereas adepts are a bit more secluded and self-fulfilled.. That's why i think most people would find elementals more appealing.. I mean, come on.. How cool is it to be able to throw fire and everything..?
How is it to you?

Hmm... you have a good in depth point there. Now I must think.

message 12: by Sam (new)

Sam Barrett | 45 comments I would be a necromancer

message 13: by Anna (new)

Anna | 8 comments So many choices...

message 14: by Niel (new)

Niel | 319 comments Too many choices

Ela | 346 comments I think elemental is the most "standard" of the options, people know what to expect of elementals powers. This might be why the are more accepted in magical society, because there are more of them, that's probably why it remembered as the greatest war heros by so many of the other characters.

Adept are much more unpredictable and their powers are often a little weird. (eg I've always found Anton Shudder's power a little scary)

SOOOOO want to do that just to say I have something in common with him...
wait I already do!!...

I am dead!!! MWAHAHAHA
JKS

I'jaaz (The Magician of Mirrex) (ijaazsm) | 20 comments Hmmm...There is so much to choose from...One thing is clear: I don't want to be the standard magician. But then again, Elementals have a wide variety of powers to choose from. Adepts have what every human already has, just magically enhanced, so that's a bit redundant. Necromancy....I don't do graves. I like the darkness bit....Is there an opposite to Necromancy, because that I could do.

If not, my final choice is Elementals. And then I'd practice, and practice, and practice until I'm on the Avatar's level or greater. :P

message 18: by Valkyrie (new)

Valkyrie | 72 comments Gosh, that really is hard, I honestly can't decide!! I think I'd really want to be a Teleporter just because there's so many places I want to travel since I've never been outside of the U.S., or to any of the interesting places in the U.S. :/
Although, I also would absolutely love being an Elemental, that would be so awesome!!!

message 19: by Sam (new)

Sam Barrett | 45 comments Death magic appeals to me

message 20: by Sam (new)

Sam Barrett | 45 comments Wait .... So that's why my friends call me a goth

message 21: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments Haha :D

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Necromancy

message 23: by Avis (new)

Avis | 14 comments I love the idea of teleporting (I also love Harry Potter and it's very similar to apparating) but for some reason I always imagine myself being an elemental or a necromancer, I think it may be because the book shows Valkyrie's POV Mir than anyone so it highlights all the strengths of those to aspects of magic.

message 24: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments I would love to be able to teleport...I frequently think that when I'm just wandering around.

message 25: by Avis (new)

Avis | 14 comments But then again China's symbol would also come in handy...

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) Id be a teleporting assassin! Heck yeah!

message 27: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments You did not even hesitate ;)

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) A Teleporting assassin-for-hire! Also is 12! And sarcastic! Also super agile! And fights with two swords! Heck yeah!!!

message 29: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments Haha, teleportation is definitely up there. Being able to travel for free!!! Thats pretty much the main draw for me, I can't afford airplane tickets!!

message 30: by Niel (new)

Niel | 319 comments I like the teleportation idea. My friend and I, not too long ago, were talking about super powers we wanted, and mine was teleportation so I could see the world.

message 31: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments The only downside would be that you can only Teleport to places you'd already been to...

message 32: by Niel (new)

Niel | 319 comments I liked the version from the movie jumper where you can teleport to places you have seen like in post cards or T.V.

message 33: by DNA (new)

DNA | 6 comments Except the mecahnics of teleportation were never made clear.
Apparently you can teleport into a wall... then can you teleport into furniture? or people? What happens then?
Or you could y'know... teleport in front of a motor cycle...

message 34: by Ela (new)

Ela | 346 comments Yeah that might be problematic...
