Elementals [Advanced RP] discussion

This store takes up two regular slots within the boardwalk. Reading is highly encouraged by the Elders- hence why it is so big.

Kai walked through the store with his hands casually placed in his pockets, he scanned the various titles of the books and bit his lip with concentration as he looked for the title he wanted to read next 'I am number four' was the book he had his eyes set on.. all he had to do now was find it.

Scarlet Blaze looked down the rows of books trying to find a romance book that she might like, she started picking up a random books and read the blurb.

Lollik walked in, admiring the covers and flipping through muliple books. She recognized a few from the tattered old bookstore at home. She was trying to find a book for her grandmother's birthday. Her entire family loved reading, so she thought a book would be appropriate

Kai flicked his eyes to the two girls who entered the shop, his initial thought was which elemental are they but then he tried to study them to try and work it out for himself. Scarlet seemed to be browsing the romance section so possibly a calm element? On the other hand Lollik seemed to be indulging herself into every pretty book cover she set eyes on.. so that could also mean calm. Then again they could both be very good actresses.

Lollik picked up a book for learning fire moves. She recognized it from when she was a child. She then put the book back and went further on, dissapearing further into the aisle. She found a thick book, big and sorta dusty. She pulled it out and blew it off, skimming through the pages. She smiled, satisfied with her selection. Her grandmother would enjoy this one. She looked over at the checkout desk and felt her money in her pocket

Kai raised is eyebrows fire elemental.. like me he thought with satisfaction. He always had respect for people with the same gifts as himself but couldn't help wonder how she discovered her powers.. he picked up the 'I am number four' book after eventually finding it and walked over to the checkout to pay with his card.

Lollik walked over to the checkput line with her big dusty book. It would fit right in on the old bookshelf. She stood behind him, not saying anything. She waited for him to finish checking out his book so she could buy her grandmothers present. She got out her wallet and checked to see if she had enough. She did. Lollik smiled, looking up from the dusty book in her arms

Kai bought his book but turned around the the woman serving Lollik and handed over his card ''Here.. I'll get that for you'' he smiled confidently, although not arrogantly. He leaned against the desk and studied her face carefully a fire elemental ey? he thought.

Lollik jumped and her eyes widened in surprise. She shook her head quickly, blushing strongly "Oh no, it's fine. I can um... Manage just fine, thank you" she handed her money to the cashier with a smile. She grabbed her book and looked at Kai. "I don't need your help" she started walking for the door

He bit his lip as he smiled ''I never said you needed my help'' he chuckled ''I just noticed you were a fiery kind of girl'' he sighed and walked to catch her up casually as he placed his card back into his suit pocket, adjusting his black mask slightly as he reached her side.

Lollik sighed "alright." she wondered if her minuscule flame tattoo-birthmark on her left wrist had given her element away. She was usually good at guessing. "you a fire too?" she asked

He nodded as he noticed her flame tattoo on her left wrist ''But your tattoo wasn't the thing that gave you away.. It was the book you looked at earlier'' he narrowed her eyes and he smirked at her ''What gave me away?'' he raised an eyebrow.

Lollik hid her wrist as he talked, even though she knew he had already seen her birthmark. She pretended to think. "hm, let me think. Well, you're pretty fire-seeming. I don't know. I always seem able to guess. You were really easy to guess, by the way" She smiled, opening the door and decided she would go to the boardwalk.

He grinned ''fiery in personality too'' he winked ''I likr that'' and with that he followed her out to the boardwalk "you shouldn't hide that mark.. It looks cool'' he told her, one of few compliments he ever gave to people.

Lollik stopped, surprised. She smiled faintly, didn't know how to respond, but she tried anyways. "thanks." she said, taking off her black gloves and exposing the flame. "and it's not technically a tattoo. Its an enhanced birthmark" she mumbled

Adena later walked into the bookstore dressed in a green sundress. She had put up her hair in a twist with a pin. She looked for Seth.

Seth walked in, dressed in a green shirt and brown shorts. He frowned to himself as he wondered Does going to a bookstore to research count as a date? He looked around and saw Adena waiting for him. He walked past a shelf of history books and grabbed a book with an illustration of 4 swords on the cover before sitting down next to Adena.

"Hello Seth, where are going to start?" she smiled at him. He looked different in his earth cloathes. It offset his hair, and made his eyes dull. "You look better in fire."

"I say we start with this book." He answered, trying to act like an Earth, but failing pretty badly. "Your right, I do prefer Fire clothes, but I really don't care"

"Ok, so If it starts with the Yggdrasil tree then does it mean that the gods are involved. If they are then I don't get how Excalibur was involved with Aurther?"

"I think that Arthur was supposed to be the king, but someone else got the throne. The gods presented Excalibur in a stone as a challenge, but enchanted the stone so only Arthur could pull it out. At least that is the version I heard." Seth explained, glad they had already started making progress.

Lollik noticed the other people and was off, the doors drifting closed on their own. She was very anti-social, and even the small talk she had shared with Kai had drained her very much, though she decided not to let that show. Instead of the boardwalk, she thought, maybe she should wander somewhere else.

He looked attractive while explaining, his brow creased and he looked at the book with such intensity. She smiled at him. "Yeah, if the gods presented Excalibur as a challenge then what do you think the gods did to present the other three?"

"I don't know, let's see." he said turning the page. "it looks like the gods fought with the other three, and the original owner of Excalibur stopped them by flinging the swords from there hands." Seth continued the story. He couldn't help but notice that Adena looked really cute, looking straight at him, and listening intently.
((I'm just making up the story about the swords as I go along XD))

"Ok one sec", she got up and rushed toward another aisle. "Gilmore, Gilmore" , she whispered. "Aha!", she grabbed the book and walked back to Seth. "This will help us.", she slaps the book down. "This is a book that my parents wrote on the Four swords. The most reliable information we could possibly get"

"Oh cool, your parents are authors. That's awesome!" Seth said enthusiastically. Why didn't you just grab that book in the first place?" Seth continued questioningly.
((I know what happened to your character's parents, but my character doesn't. I thought it might make an awkward moment. Make thing interesting))

"ummm it was a last resort. My parents were murdered a couple years ago" her eyes got very dark and her hand produced a flame. This happened every time she talked about those.....

"I'm so sorry for you. I never knew my parents. I accidentally burned down the orphanage I lived in and found a map in the ashes." He said, holding back tears, for himself and Adena. When he noticed her flame, he clapped it out before anyone noticed.

"Don't be sorry for me Seth. Don't be. But I will be for you. You are brave growing up alone." Adena traced her palm. Nobody knew this but she had scars running across and around it. She kept her hands closed most of the time and never let anyone see. The scars on her arms, she'd burned those off so that they were hard to see. A constant reminder. "Let's just read" she said and slapped in a fake smile for him. Her problems were nothing to bother him about.

"I was brave? That's the first time anyone said that. Your right, remembering this isn't going to help us. Why do we want these swords anyway? I don't really want that kind of power." Seth said, glad someone else knew his story. He was sure Adena felt the same way.

"Well that kind of power is not to be trusted. I would not even trust our elders with it. Even the most respected ones. I think we should see where the swords are located and either destroy them or hide them better" Adena thanked Seth for not talking on this parent matter further.

"If we can find them, don't you think someone else could too?" Seth asked rhetorically. "I bet many people have found them, used them, and they ended up somewhere totally different. It's a good idea, but I don't think we could pull
It off." Seth said, trying to be realistic. He also noticed Adena silently thanking him for dropping the matter of parents. He nodded to let her know he understood.

"I... I have a map, to Clarent. It was a passion of a friends and she gave it to me when she died. I've only been half way and then things got ugly. But for totally different reasons. Not because I was searching. It's somewhere to start right?"

"I can't help but feel sorry for you, it seems like everyone you know died,and I think we should wait for the masquerade to end before we go searching." Seth said, giving up on convinvcing her not to search. Normally it was good to be determined, but it could really get in your way...

"Yes we should wait and then get out when no one notices." she looked at him. "It's ok. Don't feel bad. My intent wasn't pity. I have-..." she stopped herself before she said her sisters name. "...friends. Other friends across the globe right now. I couldn't help but realize that your in a similar position though Seth. I know I don't like to be thought of as fragile so I won't pity you. Only express my gratitude that there is someone else out there like me"

((it's awkward that they already shared their dark secrets, but they aren't really dating yet :|))

"How about we go to the forest, I think one of the trees there came from one of yggdrasil's seeds." Seth said, looking more at Adena then the book. He quickly looked down so it didn't seem like he was staring.

"Ok. Wait do we have to dress like earth there too?" she asks with agony.

"Luckily, you don't. Fires go there all the time to practice stopping the flames they create." Seth grinned with relief at the thought of being able to look and act like a fire as he said this. He hoped they wouldn't get lost on the way through the forest, he had heard that at night, horrible things happen there.

Adena walked into the bookstore. She was dressed as an earth, instead of her normal fire attire. She searched the store for Seth. Looking for his signature thoughtful expression.

Seth walked in and sat down next to Adena. "This place has even more books than last time! I wonder how they get their shipments, they must send someone to a real bookstore with a ton of money and several shopping carts." Seth said, laughing at the idea of an elder carrying a giant stack of books. He stared at the ceiling for a second and then looked back at Adena.

She smiled at him a took a deep breath. "The swords engraving says "Seek the indigo tree". Now I looked in some of my parents books and it says that the indigo tree is close to here but we would have to seek out. We can always go after, if you want. Nobody would know we were gone, it's kind of my specialty" this was hard for her to say. As well as poking and prodding her her parents were obsessed with this blue tree. Now she knew why. Adena took his hand for support

"We can try to find it. It might be fun." Seth smiled as he said it, he was thinking about something totally different.
