Literary Fiction by People of Color discussion

The nominees for the 2012 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award have been named, and two of our LFPC discussion books are included - Silver Sparrow by group member Tayari Jones and Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward. Other fiction nominees are Crossbones by Nuruddin Farah, Mr. Fox by Helen Oyeyemi, You are Free by Danzy Senna, and Zone One by Colson Whitehead. The Hurston/Wright Legacy Award is the first national award presented to published writers of African descent by the national community of Black writers. This award consists of prizes for the highest quality writing in the categories of Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry.
