Hello all! I would like to start this blog by first explaining how I'm going to approach it and the information I wish not to disclose.

First off, because I don't know anybody here in real life, I'm going to treat this blog as a sort of journal. I tried that once in a blog, but it didn't work because basically no one read it and commented to help out. It may be a bit self-centered to have a blog all about me, but isn't that what it's for? I'll also include my opinion of topics that interest me. If they are too heavy, I apologize in advance.

Second of all is the information that I do not wish to disclose. I am a very paranoid person unfortunately and do not trust the Internet. I use it, but don't trust it. So the information is as follows: my real name, my birthday, my location, my email (this is case by case), and the real names of people around me. I promise this withholding will not detract from my bubbly personality or blog posts.

I will like to end this by saying thank you for reading this! I do not know if others are doing the same, but if you would like to comment and throw in your tupence please do so!! I love feedback!

I swam a lot today. I'm getting tired of exercising! I don't seem improve. Has this ever happened to you, reader: you exercise and exercise but you don't see any improvements? Does anyone tell you you're actually improvements in you? Do you get frustrated?? Let me know reader if you've felt the same way I'm feeling.

Aw! I have felt that before, but you've got to push through it!! Work out everyday, and each day push yourself. If you don't push yourself you won't improve. Set goals. "By the end of the week I want to be able to do ______". Also, I think my group would be really good for you. It's called Chase Your Life. It's a support group for people who have hobbies or goals, who are trying to achieve things. I would never have been able to improve as much as I have in the last few weeks if not for the group. It's new, and really small, but it's helped me A LOT, and I think it can help you too.

Thanks Cheyenne. I sent a request to the group.

Today's topic: boyfriends and trust. I am one of those girls who doesn't trust easily. What makes that harder you ask? A boyfriend who makes it hard to believe him.

Case in point: the first several months we were dating (when he had school, homework, chores, and early mornings) he had tons of energy. Now that school is over and he gets to sleep more, he's always tired! Do I take this at face value?

Second case: misplaced phone, didnt get text, phone died-- all these are excuses he uses to explain not texting. Call me crazy, but when the only form of communication between you and your gf is text, I would think you would keep it with you!! So readers, I would love to hear your thoughts on these two subjects. Am I being paranoid or do I have something?

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

So I thought of something new ( actually it was moms idea): ignore my boyfriend.

Oh and:

2012 07 16

So here's the thing. I'm too available! He's starting to take me for granted. Which he probably wouldn't believe. So today we had Vacation Bible School and we got to see each other at the beginning and end of it. Then I didn't text him. Let him text me for once, right? Well it didn't work!!! He didn't text me. He doesn't care. At least not as much as I do. *stay calm Nicola* this is one of those relationships that only seem to work in person.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

So ignore the last two posts!

2012 07 17

I over think things. Exercising, people, preschool, and boys. My goal should be to destress! I stress about everything. It's crazy! And one of these days it's going to ruin me.

So does anyone know how to destress??? I've tried different things but they don't work: meditating, drawing, music, (exercise kind of helps but not always.)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments I was wondering if you had a blog. I am glad I found it! Well, I think swimming can be relaxing if you are doing it for fun and not trying to win an Olympic Medal lol. It's not like I've gone in ages but it's great to be near weightless.

I don't know what to think about your boyfriend. I hope he treats you good. If he's not into texting, I don't see that as a red flag in and of itself.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you for the comment. I actually haven't written here in ages. I write on the blog on my profile; it's more up-to-date.

message 9: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments okay, I'll check it out.

It wasn't exercise, as I'm basically against that (LOL) but I sing, and I started voice lessons in the beginning of seventh grade (this year I'll be in ninth). For the first year I couldn't tell there was any difference, but this years it suddenly hit me how much better my range and voice are. It always does, with everything I do. It should happen to you.

I have tons of ways, but all in all, you just need to find a way that works for you. My favorite is a cup of hot tea or hot chocolate and a fave book/Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But there are tons of other things to do to relax.
I think that the most world wide way of relaxing is sleep, don't you?

Thank you Pirl, for your encouragement and advice. I have actually gotten better at exercising, so I'm really happy. I'm finding that and writing to be great ways of relaxing. Thank you for your suggestions. Hot tea is awesome, but it's been so hot where I am!!

Writing is the best thing for me ^^

Hot tea where I'm at right now . . . Hahaha, no. Hot tea is great though I agree.

message 15: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments I think we all concur that writing is a great way to relax! I did go to your personal blog and found some great insights were there and the information can help a lot of people who have experienced what you have to any degree.

Who, me?

message 17: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments I meant that I went to Nicola's personal blog. Do you have a different blog than the one that I read here, Cheyenne?

message 18: by Cheyenne, HoH & Proud (last edited Jul 30, 2012 09:26AM) (new)

Cheyenne | 665 comments Mod
Nope, that's why I was confused and had to ask. I've thought about starting one more than once, but I just have so many other things going on that it would be unreasonable to try to keep up with that too. That's why I haven't written any blog entries here in quite some time.

message 19: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments Cheyenne, there is a type of blogging called slow blogging. I found a blog about it and the blogger also used it in her writing course at a college. It's not my style as although I may ponder things sometimes before writing and after I've already written it. There are other times, I like to start at point a and enjoy the journey of seeing where it will end up.

Hmmm, so, what exactly is it?

message 23: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments Well, if you google slow blogging you might find a better definition than the one I offer. In a nut shell, it is a blog where you don't update that often as you are taking time to formulate your thoughts.

message 24: by Cheyenne, HoH & Proud (new)

Cheyenne | 665 comments Mod
Ahh, I thought something similar. Perhaps I'll make one.

Find my blog here: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/....

Because I don't like updating two things on the same site...

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

So. I've been having some issues. It's like my logic side of my brain goes on vacation and I'm left with my stupid emotional side who takes everything out of context. Really that's what it seems like. That's why I don't always like my emotional side.

So take this example. Have a bad day, hadn't heard from beau or anyone really and then it gets cloudy. First I'm all bitchy like "whatever" and such though I know there's a good reason. And then I was like here let my unload the stupid things I think when I'm feeling insecure. Wrong! But he was great, didn't make me feel like any more of an idiot than I already did.

But I still have to address my insecurities someway, right? I don't know. Maybe I should keep burying them like I've been doing. Of course then they come bubbling to the surface and I either become a bitch or an idiot. Or both. I'll get it over it. Eventually.

Maybe.

message 29: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments I've come to be very grateful for our emotional side. I don't want to live in a world without passion or emotion! I do think there are times when we need to address our insecurities but we don't have to invite them all for dinner for once. I am going to try to find something that I saw on facebook that I thought was a good quote about insecurities. One thing about insecurities that I have fond in my life is that people you least suspect to have any insecurities may have them nonetheless.

message 30: by Pirl (new)

Pirl (pirlismyname) I only use the logical side of my brain when forced to. Not always good, but not always bad either.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

I tend to think more logically, so much so that I've been called cold and distant. The reason for this is twofold. My emotions seem to be, at least to me, intense or extreme. And I also think its stupid to be that emotional. I've gotten more emotional as I've dated my boyfriend, but I still have the nagging feeling at the back of my head that I'm being stupid...

message 32: by Pirl (new)

Pirl (pirlismyname) Be stupid then! Everybody should be allowed to give their brains a day off. As long as you don't do anything illegal, turn off your mind, relax and float down stream! I know that's a song against drug abuse but it works...

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol that's another thing: I never relax. Ever. I never chill either. I'm constantly worrying or stressing about something. I try to turn it off but I can't. And being logical doesn't mean my mind doesn't relax. It just means that's how I process things. For example, I keep thinking about whether or not my bf would propose and whether I'd say yes. All I can think of is the logical reasons I should say no, when secretly I think I want to say yes...

message 34: by Pirl (new)

Pirl (pirlismyname) Then just say yes! In my opinion, I don't think you'll know what you want to say until you're in that position. Till then... let go.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes ma'am!

message 36: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments I agree with, Pirl. Our brains do need a day off. Sometimes being logical does help us to cope. Well, I have to be getting around for work in a bit.

message 37: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 461 comments Before I go, I just read that Nicola said that she never relaxes or chills. I don't always see everything at first. I have heard that doing art such as painting shuts down the logical side of our brain and allows a person to lose sense of time. I think you may find that relaxing even if you don't feel your main talents lie in that area.

Check out my redesigned blog! http://nbintrouble.wordpress.com/

It's for rants, poems, whatever comes to mind. And I'll use the Goodreads blog thing as a journal. So don't forget to keep looking up these things! If you're a fan of mine, you'll get a monthly digest thing (if you didn't turn it off) and Please follow! Thanks..

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

So here's the deal. I have like zip traffic on my Goodreads blog: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... and my Wordpress blog: http://nbintrouble.wordpress.com/ which is weird since you can read my Wordpress blogs through my Goodreads blog. I wonder why that is... I don't know, but it's annoying. Maybe I complain too much.... Lately it's been about my depression or something... As soon as you hear that you're like "She's crazy and cranky and whatever." But it's gone now (not really I just tamed it, Holla!) and I revamped it, so now's it just random things. And I've noticed (more on YouTube) that vlogs are more popular than blogs. Annoying, since I'm only doing the one. But who cares! Right? Well since I only have... How long?... Wait, I think I got it.... Yes! I only have 10 more days until boot camp. After that, I'm going to revamp current one and do a Navy Sailor blog. Just my thoughts and what I'm up to. So follow now and you'll find out about it later!! Anyway check it out and follow follow follow. Plus it wouldn't hurt to tell your friends about it.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Promotion thing! On blog! You have to find and read it and then you'll get it! What am I talking about? You'll find out.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Trying out a new platform, Check it out: http://nicolablack.livejournal.com/51...

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Deleted everything. Only blog is now on Goodreads.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Would you guys know or care if I deleted my profile and never came back? I doubt it. Oh you'll say the usual pleasantries, but then you'll forget and move on. I was merely a puff of smoke that you saw every once in a while and then dissipated naturally... I wouldn't blame you. People in my real life have been so temporary why would I expect more from virtual people?

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

That was so sweet, Mindy. Thank you. I'm was somewhat lonely.. It's hard when you see other blogs so popular when yours is not and you can't figure out why that is. I deleted everything to get a fresh start. I'm trying to go in a different direction and also include other things. Thanks you again for your comment and best wishes to you!

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't have one at the moment. I deleted everything. Not on Goodreads though! So don't worry Anchors. I am thinking of starting back up again, but I need help deciding what platform. I don't want to use Wordpress, Blogger, or Blogspot, so does any one have any suggestions?

message 48: by yael (new)

yael Wattpad?

*wipes sweat* phew. I freaked out a bit
