This is the two Fire Elders' Castle. You must have specifically been granted permission by one of the two Elders in order to enter. Other Elders may come whenever they please, but that doesn't happen much unless it's strictly business.

*Steven appeared outside of the gates to the castle and gaped in awe at the structure* "One-thousand years I live and this place has lost none of its beauty or pride. Though, I don't even know who the current Elder is. I wonder if they'd allow me to enter this magnificent palace?" *Steven began walking toward the gate*
Peter sat in his study as he wrote important letters and looked over books. He was currently trying to inform the Earth elder of her son and a couple of parents of the fire element that their children and acted up. He felt a wave of something familiar. He stood and went to the window wondering if it was the other Fire elder. He sighed and went down to the stairs to meet her. He got a few feet from the gate and saw it wasn't the other elder at all but someone else. "Who goes there?" He called. "Who dares to come onto Fire grounds without permission?" He said in a cold tone.
*Steven stopped at the gates and dropped to his knee, head bowed* "Forgive me, sire. I merely wished to see if this glorious palace remained as magnificent as it had been many years ago. It has been several years since I stepped foot inside such a great hall and I would very much like to if you will permit me to, sire."
Peter watched curiously as the man bowed and very low as well. He had manners and respect. "Ah I see you must be a former elder." He said. "Do stand and come in. I do admire this castle as well, fond memories. But I do ask who you are before you step through the gate, one cannot be sure some times." He said.
*Steven raised his head and stood* "Why does everyone keep calling me an Elder? I have never been an Elder. Though...I do not know much about my past..." *Steven's mind suddenly shot back to the gathering and he looked at the Elder* "Sire! Are you aware of a gathering at the mansion to the northeast of here?! There are two Elders there! One of Water and one of Earth! Many Elementalists of all Elemental kingdoms, including Fire, had shown up there! I dear they may be plotting against our kingdom!"
Peter was confused by the mans words and stood closer to the gate to get a better look at him. He seemed familiar some how but he couldn't understand why as of yet. Then his next words made him smile. "Ah yes the annual ball for all young elementals. Yes my good man I do know it is happening. It is a masked ball in which no one knows of your element and you are to understand and get to know each other. Us Elders become tired of fighting a pointless war that seemed to lose more than gain more and no matter the tactics it was unsatisfying to know good elementals were having their blood spilt, when in reality we should join together to protect each other from the human race and their conspiracies." He said. "So in conclusion we have this ball to keep the peace between elders and elementals. All Elders have signed a treaty of peace if the peace is broken it is back to war we go. However sir you still fail to tell me who you are." He said.

*Steven blinked, remaining silent for a moment, but then spoke somewhat choked* "I see...I guess I've missed a lot in a thousand years... Well...I guess I have some apologizing to do. My name is Steven Alexander, sire, but I must confess that I was unaware of the treaty and caused damage to the mansion and caused fear to the younger Elementalists." *Steven turned around and started walking* "And because of my ignorance, I have brought dishonor to my kind and your house. Therefore, I must take my leave into exile. I apologize for the trouble, sire."

(( A couple of things about Steven: 1. He's 2,500 years old, but he's only aware of the last thousand, where he had been in exile and lost until about a month ago. 2. He is the Fire Elder, but is unaware of his status, but not his power, making Peter, like I said, in-between Elders and regular Elementalists in terms of power, but not affecting Dylan...at least, for now. (And I'm not trying to cause problems, there, as I will change that as soon as I logically and within the flow of the RP can; I'm just trying to play the lore of the Elders within a "Lost" Elder, so I'm sorry if this gets confusing, annoying, or aggravating at any point and would ask that you let me know what you might have a problem with before a fight or argument beings.) 3. His red eyes, though you cannot see them, mark him as an older being--one that has been a part of the Elemental War and is of pure blood. ))
Peter looked at the man wide eyed. In all his years he thought this man to be dead. He thought he'd died in the war himself. He never imagined seeing him in the flesh. "Wait!" He called. "Do come back and come inside. We can speak of such troubles inside and I will decided whether or not exile is best for you. Cme in and eat with me and we shall discuss what consequences you face depending on how dramatic it was this little fight of yours. I do believe an Earth elder informed me of you not so long ago." He said raking his brain.

*Steven turned around and nodded* "As you wish, sire." *Steven followed the Elder into the building* "If I may, sire, it has been a while since I've spoken with any Elder--not counting recent events--I was wondering if I may ask your name?"
(( The name can mark him as the Fire Elder, so you can know it, but Steven is still unaware. And, though it is three lines, forgive me for the short post. ))

(( oh so you mean Peter can know his name, knowing that he was an Elder and all that but Steven doesn't know that yet...got it :D ))Peter nodded and walked with the man into the palace as he walked with him into the dinning room. "Yes, my name is Peter." He said as he clicked his fingers get a servant over to him. "Do tell me what you desire to eat and my servant here will get it for you." He said as he sat at the head of the table, pouring himself some wine. "Do sit, please."
(( No updates, sorry. And ya. ))
*Steven sat down beside Peter on his right* "Just a glass of water will be fine. I'm afraid I don't have much of an appetite." *Steven looked around the great dining hall* "I must say, this place has changed since I was last here. But none of which have made it any less beautiful."

(( sorry )) Peter leaned back against his chair as the servant went to fetch Steven a glass of water. He looked around and nodded in agreement. "Mmm we have had some of it renovated and minor things changed to keep up to date, but we have tried to keep most of it as original as possible. So dear sir do tell me of this fight that occurred. What happened?"
"I had been teaching a Water Elementalist to swim, trying to keep cover while others were watching and, I guess, some water got through my armor and caused my body to seethe, so, after we got out and she ran off to find help, I started to make my way back to the mansion, in search of a proper healer, when a young Fire Elementalist stopped me at the door and, when I proceeded past him, he started to attack me, having conjured two flame swords. Once he began to charge at me, I retaliated by knocking he and a female friend of his backwards. The boy had gotten back up and began to charge at me again, where I had used a flame whip spell against him and, when it impacted on him, erupted and blew a hole in the wall and engulfed the two Fire Elementalists and part of the countywide in fire. After that, the Earth and Water Elders proceeded to challenge me. The Water Elder defended the two by surrounding them both in Water, while the Earth Elder attempted twice to restrain me in the Earth, where, after the first failed attempt to escape, I began to charge my power and allowed it to erupt in an inferno that blew through the roof of the mansion, as well as its floors, and proceeded to fly away from the place. After flying south for a while, my power receded and I grew weak and fell; then, after landing, rolled onto my hands and knees and lost consciousness. When I awoke, I came here. And that's basically what happened."
(( Sorry, I was watching TV. ))
(( Sorry, I was watching TV. ))
(( its ok I've been doing chores and crap :D sorry im going to be late replying i have to reply to alot of other groups lol )) Peter listened to the story patiently as the servant brought him his water and filled his cup with more wine. He nodded in understanding. "Ah I can sense this was a total misunderstanding. The elders probably walked in seeing you make your attempts at protecting yourself and took it as an attack. Well sir you are perfectly within your rights. However you may need to take a class to recall how to control the strengths of your power. Basically the boy that attacked you tried to protect the girl then another stepped in to protect the boy and it was all one big attempt to protect one another. So no one is at a fault here. So you are as they say 'off the figurative hook'." He said softly as he sipped his wine, the alcohol having no effect on him because his metabolism burnt it faster than his body could absorb it.
(( It's ok. ))
*Steven picked up his cup and looked at it with the eye of his mask, hesitating to drink* "I am in complete control of my power, sire; I only choose to use it to its fullest potential so that I may exert my status and produce any intimidation I may need to prevent any fights from occurring between me and another Elementalist. However, those that are still arrogant enough to challenge me tend to cause problems for me and anyone around me." *He sighed and sat his cup down* "Though, if you would tell me, sire: why is it that you Elders keep calling me an Elder? My power is beyond that of a normal Fire Elementalist, but I thought that's just because I had lived for so long." *He looked at the Elder* "I would really like to know...who I am..."
(( Sorry, watching a movie. ))

Peter nodded in understanding. Still talked like an elder thats for sure. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose as he leaned back in his chair. "Yes well..." He began as he thought about telling him. He wasn't one to betray another fire, but his knowledge of his past might entice something worse than what he had done in that ballroom. "You my friend are an elder, one I thought was dead for over 1000 years. Everyone in fact thought you were dead but clearly your not. You were the fire elder of this castle you so fondly remember, however you are no longer the elder and are now considered a past elder. Considering the elders and myself included thought you to be dead your throne was renounced and I took over." He told him.

"Dead? Renounced? But how would you be able to inherit the powers of the former Elder? If I was truly an Elder, would I not still be the Elder, since I neither dead nor was I present at the time of my throne's renounciation? Surely there must be more? I have never felt any loss in my powers. And, if I am over a thousand years old, I must still have the aura that grants Elders longer life?" *Steven looked down at his cup* "Is there, then...by any chance...something of my former life that still remains?"
(( Steven once had a sword made of a rare, nearly industructable material called adamantite and, if you want to use that, you can. It'd be in the castle. ))
(( Steven once had a sword made of a rare, nearly industructable material called adamantite and, if you want to use that, you can. It'd be in the castle. ))
(( coolio )) Peter sighed. "Yes well when we assumed you were dead I was given the power of the other fire Elemental whom I spilt it with the current elder you just saw. You still have the power, yes but you are not technically the elder, you are of course a past elder." He said. "I think I may have something of yours, it might be around here somewhere." He said as he got up and went over to an armoured man, holding a sword. He pulled the sword from its grip and held it flat out to the elder. "This was once your sword." He said.
*Steven stood up and walked over to the Elder* "That...is my sword...?" *He gripped the sword and held it in his hand* "This is...--!!" *Steven gasped, as his mind began to fill with the memories of his past life, as his power began to surge outside his mind, Fire beginning to swarm around him*
Peter let go of the sword as Steven seemed to recognise it. He realised then that it was probably not the right thing to do to tell him who he was and to give him the sword. He was used to fire and was fire proof, but the fire itself was starting to set things ablaze so he had to snuff the fire out before it spread. "Steven." He said in a deep tone, trying to get him to pay attention.

*Steven's mind began to clear as the Fire erupted in great intensity and magnitude--the flames of the candles and fireplaces erupting into larger flames and the fires surrounding the castle into large pillars of Fire, reaching into the sky, surrounding the place in a massive inferno--shattering his mask in the flame, then died down and revealed Steven's face and, as he opened his eyes, the red tint to them, symbolizing him as an entity of the Old Generations* "I am renewed. My memories have returned. I am Steven Alexander--Fire Elder of the great Kingdom of the Flame. ...But I suppose you are right. I am no longer an Elder. Therefore, a proper ceromony must be held if you wish to take your place as the Fire Elder. Until you have properly defeated me, you cannot claim the power and right that you so claim to have now. We shall duel the way the Elders of old did. Only when you defeat me will you gain the title of Fire Elder. And...if you can defeat me...I shall reveal to you what truly happened all those years ago."
Peter looked skeptical of the old man before him. He'd been ruling for at least 1000 years or more and it was a little annoying to have to begin another fight for more power, but more power did sound quite nice. "Well that is good to hear but with half the power of the other elder I suppose a dual is in order to gain what is mine. So I suppose I shall accept and my curiosity does spike at the mention of what happened to you, so then shall we begin?"
"Let us head outside, so that we may refrain from damaging these glorious halls. If the old arena is still outside, then we shall head there. Follow me." *Steven began walking toward the rear entrence of the castle* "The are rests on a large plain in the courtyard. It is there that we shall conduct our duel."
Peter shoved his hands deep into his pockets as he followed the man outside and over to the area with him. He was a little irritated the man thought less of him or at least had something of that tone in his voice. "Yes I do know these things. What weapon would you care to fight with?" He asked as they stood in the middle of the arena. If you wish we could fight fire with fir or do this in the method of weaponry with no powers allowed." He said.

(( It's ok, I have a lot to type, anyway. XD Good night. ))
*Steven stopped a few yards away from Peter and turned around and faced him* "This will be done in the way the current Elder chooses. And since I have not been properly replaced, that right falls to me, as you would be my successor. This will be done in the way the Elders of old had performed these duels. These duels are not your average skirmishes. Whether Elders share power now or not, I do not know, but shared power that you do not possess to begin with labels you as a Rising Elder. One that is to become and Elder should they pass whatever test the current Elder lays before them. In order for a Rising Elder to become an Elder, however, that person must take on the challenges set before them. Whether this Rising Elder is a descendant or not is not a variable--it is whoever is chosen or trained to become an Elder. In this case, however, there are two of you that are to become the Elder. Therefore, both you and your partner must complete the task I set before you. The task I choose is for both you and your partner to defeat the current Elder in combat. In the ways of the Old Generations, as we are now called, each kingdom would have its own challenges. The Fire Kingdom would test its Rising Elders by pitting them against the current Elder of their time to test their power and battle skills. The Earth Kingdom would test its Rising Elders by throwing them into a pit that threatens to crush them unless they can prove their strength and strategic abilities and prevent the pit from crushing them, while also warding off other various obstacles. The Water Kingdom would test its Rising Elders by putting them in a large maze with no food or water that they are required to escape from which could take them up to a week to successfully complete to test their intelligence and patience. The Air Kingdom would test their Rising Elders by sending them out into a mystical wilderness to survive on their own until they have learned how to conquer fear, itself, which can take years, constantly being challenged by beings not seen since the time of the Great War, which would constantly hinder and attempt to break the will and minds of the children who would become the new Elders, rather than harm them physically, in order to test their courage and will. Each of these challenges requires the Rising Elders to prove their true abilities and use them at their greatest potential in order to survive and become the new Elders and earn the power and title of an Elder. However, unlike whatever ceremonies you may do today, these challenges always ended in two way: the victory over the challenges placed before them, defeating their foes or overcoming their obstacles, officially marking the children as Elders...or their failure to complete their challenges, ultimately resulting in their deaths. In the challenge of the Fire Kingdom's case, it would be a duel to the death. In this case, however, the terms will be changed to fit the expectations and laws of today's society. This duel will end in one of three ways: 1. is submission--the forfeit of either side, 2. defeat--the inability to continue the fight of either team, or 3. interference--where any being not a member of this trial enters the arena for any reason. If such a thing occurs, the trail will be deemed unfair and invalid and will be canceled and suspended until another time. Therefore, in the case of interference, neither team is declared as the victor. In any other case, whichever team submits as a whole or is defeated as a whole, meaning both members of the team either submit or are defeated, the opposing team is declared the victor. This challenge will only be issued once; therefore, if you should fail, you will not succeed as the current Fire Elders and will not have another chance to do so. You will lose any and all power you have gained while bearing the title of "Elder"--or, in reality, "Rising Elder"-- permanently." *He paused for a brief moment* "Go summon the other "Elder" and meet me back here. And, until this trial is over, you shall both be considered "Rising Elders". When you have returned, I will explain the rules of this duel."

Astrid walked into the castle, observing her surroundings. She'd heard about a fight in the ballroom a few nights ago involving a fire elemntalist, and it's made her very nervous. The elements had just started to become better at tolerating each other, and now someone had fought again.
((help?))
((help?))
Peter knew all of this he'd been there in the times of the old generation of elders he'd even been accepted as an elder in the older generation. He sighed and walked back towards the castle and up towards Astrid's room, a little frustrated. He didn't realise where he was going, lost in thought as he bumped into something soft, more like someone. He immediately steadied her. "My apologies, we are needed in the arena." He said.
Astrid looked up at him, her brown eyes showing that she was a little bit nervous "o-okay" she said, unsure of herself. What was she about to go do? she was scared, and she wasn't sure if that's how an elder was supposed to act.
((what is she about to go do? I'm not exactly sure...))
((what is she about to go do? I'm not exactly sure...))
(( Uh fight Steven )) Peter nodded and turned to walk back out, looking behind him to make sure she was following. He made his way back to the arena, making his way over to Steven. "Ok I have found her and we are ready." He said as he crossed his arms.
Astrid stood a little bit behind Peter, looking at Steven. She had to do this, she knew she did. She knew she was a good elementalist, but being here, standing in front of Steven, made her doubt herself majorly
((yeah, sorry, I read the post))
((yeah, sorry, I read the post))
(( Sorry, I had to move three large TVs around and hook up two of them and one of them wasn't working right, so I had to fix that. So that took a lot of time. >.< ))
*Steven stood in the center of the arena, his mask now returned and in its full form, covering his face* "Good. Both of you come down to me and I will explain the rules of this fight and what the purpose of this is to your partner." *He stared up at them with the eye of his mask, examining the pair and gauging their power based on their appearance and auras*

Peter nodded and walked down over to Steven and stood in front of him, his hands behind his back as he studied Steven. He wasn't happy being challenged but if he got his deserved powers then it would be fine with him. And no matter what he was dettermined to win.
((sorry guys :( I suck at eldering))
Astrid followed Peter so she was standing in front of Steven as well. She saw the determined look on peters face and knew he was confident. That made her feel a bit better. They were a team. And they will beat him.

(( You're fine. ))
*Steven looked at the female Elder* "Hello, my Lady. As you're probably wondering, you are here to earn your status as an Elder. Currently, you are Rising Elders." *He looked back at Peter* "In order to earn your status, you will be placed in a single trial. This trial consists of a duel between both of you and myself. As this is going to be altered slightly in order to prevent war or unneccesary conflict, the two of you must succeed in overpowering me and forcing me to either forfiet the duel or to be unable to battle any farther." *He turned and started walking to the edge of the arena* "The rules are simple: there is no weaponry allowed, other than those you conjure on your own; no hitting in areas that are dishonorable; no dishonorable or disrespectful attacks: I.e. biting, pinching, slapping, backhanding, hair-pulling, etc.; no use of other Elements other than Fire, which I don't think will be a problem; no unfair overpowering; no abusive actions: I.e. stomping on someone's head or back when they're down; no harming an unconscious opponent, if applicable; no cutting off limbs or head; no intentional maiming that is not within dueling limitations: I.e. intentionally breaking bones repetitively; no sensory disabling; no intentional removal of the opponent from the arena--in which case will end the duel in a stalemate and the trial will be postponed for another time--no harming of outside forces, objects, or beings, unless legitimately threatened by them--in which case, the duel will also end and will also cause the trial to be postponed--and, in this case, no intentional friendly fire." *He placed his sword in a rack on the edge of the arena and pushed the rack into a storage area and sealed it off, then turned back around and began to walk back toward the center of the arena* "The duel will end in three ways: 1. is submission--the forfeit of either side, 2. defeat--the inability to continue the fight of either team, or 3. interference--where any being not a member of this trial enters the arena for any reason. If such a thing occurs, the trail will be deemed unfair and invalid and will be canceled and suspended until another time. Therefore, in the case of interference, neither team is declared as the victor. You will lose any and all power you have gained while bearing the title of "Elder"--or, in reality, "Rising Elder"-- permanently." *He stopped at the center of the arena, a few feet in front of the two* "Any questions?"

In any other case, whichever team submits as a whole or is defeated as a whole, meaning both members of the team either submit or are defeated, the opposing team is declared the victor. And, as I have said before to Peter, this challenge will only be issued once; therefore, if you should fail, you will not succeed as the current Fire Elders and will not have another chance to do so. You will lose any and all power you have gained while bearing the title of "Elder"--or, in reality, "Rising Elder"-- permanently." *He stopped at the center of the arena, a few feet in front of the two* "Any questions?"
Peter shook his head and smiled politely. "The rules are understood the consequences are simple and we are ready. So the only weapons we use is our fire to what ever weapons we can conjure." He said "Now may we please continue."
*Steven looked at the female Elder* "Are you ready, my Lady?" *He began to prepare himself for the upcoming duel, steadying himself and preparing his body for any quick assault that may come as soon as the duel starts*
Astrid nodded, giving Steven her best intimidating stare. "yes, I'm ready" she said, knowing her stare was failing as she studied Steven and debated how she was going to beat him.
*Steven chuckled a bit* "Very well, then." *He turned and walked a good 50 feet away from them, then turned back to face them* "Let's begin!" *A large wall of Fire veiled the arena as Steven initiated the duel* "Show me what your true power lies in store for me." *He assumed a defensive position, readying himsel for an attack*
Astrid stood back at her and peters side of the arena, readying herself for the worst. Steven looked like he wanted them to start, and she froze a bit. She dug her nails into her palms, staring at him. 'now or never' she thought as she sent a thousand bullets of fire at him
((is this along the lines of what she should attack like? I've never done a fight on this rp before, I don't want to cheat or anything))

Peter watched as Steven went into defensive, however Peter was never one to make the first move. So he went into defensive himself. He always liked to watch and analyse his opponent, seeing their weak points and strengths and seeing where they left open points, seeing if they had a pattern. So he waited as he watched Astrid attack.
(( No updates, sorry. :( And ya, you're fine, Ella. XD ))
*Steven held his hand out and absorbed the bullets of Fire* "Is that all you can do?" *He brought his hand in, then pushed it out, redirecting the female Elder's own attack back at her, then sent out a large beam of Fire with his other hand at Peter*

Peter caught the beam, and collected into a ball of fire. He shoved the ball of fire down into the ground, getting the ground hot enough to turn it into lava. The lave shot up as he controlled the fire within the lava and rained it down on Steven.
*Steven held his hands up, finishing redirecting the female Elder's attack, and caught the rain of lava above his head, then brought it down on either side of them and pushed it back toward Peter*
(( We'll have to wait on Ella to take her turn before we proceed any farther after your post and maybe one more of mine, depending on what your post's like. ))

Astrid caught the fire that Steven threw back at her. She thought her attack and been good, but apparently it wasn't good enough for Steven. She used the fire she caught and turned it into a beam, hurling it through the air and straight towards the top of Steven's head.
